We've been here twice since we moved to the neighborhood, and enjoy their outdoor patio (a COVID-19 necessity). It's nice, they usually have music playing, flowers all over...it's good. Both times I've had the Brisket Burger, so you know that's a winner. The fries are hot and crispy. The basil aioli is highly addictive - you've been warned! :) This last time we visited, we were there for Bastille Day wine tasting. We enjoyed 4 different wines (rose, white, red, and sparkling) for $25 + some light bites (mussels, pate, and bread). All of the wine was really good and not something I'd had before (different vineyards/brand). I think you neeeeed to get some fries, too, as an app because they're just perfect. Service has always been good and everyone I'm with seems to enjoy their cocktails and beer/wine that they order (in addition to their food). I need to go back and try more items off the menu. Parking is super easy - on the side street and free! Check out their website/social for more info on the themed nights. I'm looking forward to an upcoming Champagne & Fried Chicken night!

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant in March for my birthday and we were not disappointed! The food was amazing, the service, the music! We had an absolute blast. We will definitely head back soon!

Very fun atmosphere, attentive, funny wait staff, solid cocktails, and enjoyable live music on the patio. Environment is classic Chicago neighborhood place. The food was just not very good. The shrimp and grits were once-frozen shrimp heated up and thrown on top of under seasoned grits. The burger was fine. The Mac and cheese was more like butter noodles- definitely not creamy or savory. The steak was med rare on the inside but flash fried to a crust on the outside.

Hi. I am pretty sure I'm writing a review right now but it's pretty dark in here, which, you know, I like. After sizing up his shadow, I was pretty sure I was talking to my dinner companion though, at least most of the time. Also ! They are playing the Stones! I need a love to keep me happy, happy. Baby please keep me , happy. So my compatriot and I were looking for refreshing drinks on a beautiful summer night. We ordered the Bloody Mary and a supersonic gin and tonic. They kind of took a few minutes, but they were actually amazing so we forgave the wait. Next, we ordered the pulled pork sandwiches, knowing that the chef has won some BBQ something award. They were served on these Lilliputian trays, which made them appear to be small, but they weren't. They were absolutely breathtaking. Dare I say, the best pulled pork sandwich in Chicago and only 10 bucks. I like this place. This is an update! So, yeah they turned up the lights and unfortunately, the magic disappeared. Sigh. The menu changed and is now over the top expensive with just one lonely reasonable option. The pulled pork sandwich which was formerly on Texas toast or maybe a less dense bun, is now on a giant dense bun which was evidently refrigerated. They also used to serve it without bbq sauce, just a nice dry rub. Sigh. Ok, I'll stop sighing now. The fries, which were great, are now quite average. You'd think restaurants know this raise your prices to the ceiling thing doesn't work. Restauranteurs out there, I formally advise against these type of shenanigans. So, that's what 's up. Ok. Sigh.

Memphis Dry Rub Ribs (none of us were a fan)

The building is pretty unassuming on the outside and looks a lot smaller than it actually is. Once you're in, the main space indoors is a big open bar with some tables/booths and places to sit but also a lot of standing room. There is a large patio space that looks so fun for the summer. The concert venue is in the back. It's pretty small, but perfect for more intimate shows. We had so much fun!! My estimation is that this G&T was 75% tonic. I didn't say anything because I don't know what to say. I also do not like confrontation. The venue itself is fantastic! We were there to see KING MALA. ADORE EVERYTHING ABOUT HERE. My boyfriend sprung for VIP tickets. I have no money but meeting her was amazing. Highly recommend seeing a chow here. What a fun little restaurant/bar and venue…read more Parking is a little harder as it is in Chicago and these are neighborhood streets. We went with another couple who miraculously found parking right in front. Had it been warmer out, we could have sat outside for dinner. This bar has been around for decades and they haven't lost their spark yet. I think they're just getting ready for the summer and a lot more fun. We ventured here from the suburbs to see a friend's cousin's band called 76th Street. So we went early, enjoyed some drinks and dinner, and then made our way into the venue in back. Beat Kitchen has a lot of beer options (fir those who like beer) with a mix of mainstream, local brews, and some IPAs. They did have a cider (dry) that didn't interest me, but they had a drink of the night that seemed good and I ordered that. The bartender knew what they were doing as it was delicious. I next ordered the burger, but seriously almost got a salad. They both looked great. However, I saw a burger at another table and that sealed the deal. Perfectly cooked and toppings were fresh. Next we headed into the venue. It was loud, but not too loud. As it filled with concert goers, it got warm. Some couples were making out in front of us and it was awkward. Thankfully security broke em up as, hello, it was awkward! It's a cool place to catch a show and they did accommodate us with some chairs as we are a little older (in our 50s) and the crowd was barely in their 20s. It was a fun night and well worth visiting for food and drinks, even if you are seeing a concert.

Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."
