Muchacho Totchos: tot nachos, a bit heavy on the dairy, but the pico de gallo on top gave it some zest
    Mark D.

Warning: this review may make some bold claims and contain undue hyperbole and rambling insanity in favor of the Green Bay Packers. Please do not proceed unless you're willing to tolerate that or if you just hate warnings in general. My Buddy's is my buddies or are my buddies. Or My Buddy's my buddy. I dunno. Anyway, they make you feel at home here. We went there last night, in search of a Packer bar somewhere near Uptown. They took our reservation gladly and they were nice and direct on the phone, as in, "It's gonna be busy during the game. Show up at least half an hour before the game, even with a reservation." It wasn't as packed as I was expecting, but I do believe that every table was reserved in advance, so I would recommend reservations for a game. For the Packers-Bears game, they had the raving Packers maniacs in the bright back room and the somber Bears fans in the dimly lit front room, though it wasn't enforced or anything like that. It felt pretty civilized overall, to almost everyone's credit. The food is decent, by bar standards. We had Muchacho Totchos and the highlight, besides tots, was the pico de gallo at the top. It tied the whole room together and all that, just like The Dude's rug. Also, we tried the guacamole, which had a strong lemon flavor, but it was good and not salty at all. They had RC Cola on tap, so we were super duper enthused. The stars of the show, though, are the other fans, the staff, DJ and the owner (Brian) walking around with a microphone. It is loud. My left ear was ringing after the game, but it all made for a very exciting and engaging gameday experience. (I was debating just watching the game at home, but I'm glad that we went.) They also gave away NFL stuff during halftime during the drawing. Both Bears and Packers fans who won were mildly happy. As a bonus, it's very LGBT friendly. Everyone comes as they are and there's good diversity and representation among staff. Good unity and good times. We'll be back for another game and we're also looking forward to going to one of their karaoke nights.

They have a few tables outside and indoor by the windows. They have amazing food and service. We had the deviled eggs, tater tots, and cheese curds. Those deviled eggs are unreal! Do not pass on those. I also ordered my Thanksgiving dinner from them and the entire meal was spot on and so affordable. To top it off, for every 2 meals they donated the third meal to a local charity/artist/essential worker. This place is so down to earth and friendly. We need more businesses like them.

Full disclosure: I know some of the folks that own this place. I went there tonight to support their opening. Location wise, this is needed in the area. There really isn't a lot down on Clark near Montrose, so it will be nice to have a place to grab a burger and some wine without hitting the strip mall across from the cemetery. The food was solid. We ordered the Sloppy Joes, the crab cakes, fried green tomatoes and the My Bubby's Burger. All were very well done. I not a big fan of everyone's Sloppy Joes, this was nice. The sauce used was not too sweet and the meat had a good flavor of onions and bell peppers. The Heiress Apparent got the crab cakes. She thought they were good and like the sauce that was used. She described as akin to possibly an aioli or something with balsamic vinegar in it. Normally she is not a fan of sauces like that, but she said it complemented the crab cakes. My friend got the burger...it came with tater tots. Meat looked charbroiled and he cleaned his plate, something he does not do as he is a picky eater. There are plenty of TVs, which was nice as we got to watch the Loyola game (Go Ramblers!). Downside was there was not enough staff, but was not surprised by that at all. Most places do not have enough staff on their opening night and this was no different. There was a bit of a wait for food, but when it came out, it was hot and fresh. Brian (one of the owners) was lovely...working the bar and serving food, so props for that. And the owners were all open to suggestions on what to do to make the experience more enjoyable (malt vinegar for those fries and a small wine list that includes bubbles is a good start). They are planning on having a Mother's Day brunch with dueling pianos. Won't be able to make it, but wishing them the best. I will be back here once they get settled into a routine to re-evaluate my review. As I am a big supporter of local establishments, I am looking forward to seeing how My Buddy's evolves. This was a good start and I am looking forward to returning.

Service: 20 out of 10 - the best server that kept us laughing and was just a joy to have! Food: great!! I had a chicken quesadilla with onions and peppers. Perfectly made with a nice crunch to it. Beer selection is nice as well! The owner came out and talked to my table, thanked us for coming to dine outdoors and support local - really great guy! Please give this place a try!!

One of their recent emails: "Even invite some Packer fans, since they're not doing anything this year." Wow just wow. Some "Packer bar." I was excited to have a new place that supported my team but clearly that's BS. Sad, I was starting to like this place because of the staff. Very warm and welcoming. However the food and drinks are over priced. Especially for a Sunday. Guess it's time to go back to Will's. They'd never promote the damn Bears

Great place to catch a comedy or drag revue! Amazing staff...great food and drinks. You're guaranteed a good time!

A new spot to try out with neighbors. Loved that they had cheap cans, only on sale until they run out - $4.00 for a can of magners. The food was okay. I'm sure it will only get better though as they have a lot of custom here right now. ETA- left my bag there, came back 4 hours later to find it safe and sound with the contents there. Thanks Buddy's.

My Buddy's is out to a great start, but I could tell they were still figuring out all of the kinks. It's a great location with a lot of potential, and I think if they listen to reviews, this will be a perfect neighborhood hangout. The menu has a lot of solid options that all sound delicious, and they offer some cans of cider and beer for as little as $4. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and approachable. The music didn't necessarily match the decor/vibe, but that's not the end of the world. I loved the burger I ordered and the mountain of tots it came with. Plus, it was only $10. Their food is all very reasonably priced, about $10-15. As for complaints, there weren't any condiments/salt on the table, which was a bummer since the fries and tots weren't salted out of the fryer. Also, some people at my table felt their food was under seasoned overall. However, my biggest complaint is that our server put our orders in on separate tabs. So, we all got our food at different times. Mine came out about 10-15 mins after the first plate on our table. None of this is deal breaker stuff. Just little kinks that will be worked out over time. Overall, I look forward to watching this place grow and succeed in the neighborhood!

We love this bar, will come here for games rest of the season. Hand out shots like there's no tomorrow. Feels like a community when you walk in here... bingo on Thursday's too :)

They have a great patio that looks right onto the back of the scoreboard. I enjoyed two appetizers on my stop - the mozzarella sticks and chicken tenders. Both were unique from the cookie cutter bar options. The sticks were more breaded and crispy. The tenders were meaty and loved the sauces that came with it (mustard and BBQ). Service was great. My only complaint was the price. I don't like credit card surcharges (include it in the price) and $50 bucks for two apps and a couple of beers is a little over what I was hoping to spend.

It was the off-season for baseball so no Wrigley crowds, but still decently busy. We got a table promptly and had beers in front of us with the quickness. We shared some Wings which hit the spot. I had a bowl of Clam Chowder and their Mini Burgers. Both excellent. My friends got the Chicago Dog and Turkey Melt. Both liked their food. Great Menu selection of the usual Sports Bar favorites. Beers were Hazy IPAs and tasted great. Large selection of beer on tap. Service was on point and everything came. out quickly. We ubered out from Downtown to come here. It was a great experience and I will definitely return anytime I'm in Chicago.
