Just wanted to mention here about the fantastic service I received at Recon Central last week, after I selected them to perform my Engine Bay Detail service. My main contact was John P. and he was extremely professional, detailed in explaining their services I needed, and pleasant to talk to. I was even offered some home-baked cookies (which my wife and I really enjoyed!). I needed an Engine Bay Detail to wash off oil on the sides of the engine from an oil leak. Without the excess oil removed it was too difficult to determine if my valve cover gasket replacement resolved my oil leak. My engine was dirty as heck before the detail service. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. These people do not belong anywhere near cars. I dropped my car off in Dec for paint/ ceramic coating. When talking with John it would be around $4,000 for it all and he said in January it would be done. I was polite, waited, and never rushed him. Then in February he finally texted me and said the car wouldn't start and needed a fuel pump. The car was always running when I dropped it off, but whatever. I'm thinking because they leave cars in the open the gas was siphoned. He installed a new fuel pump, then my car continued to sit as he ignored the paint job and prioritized other work. Then his team had to jump start my car because they continued to let it sit there and his team reversed the cables and ruined the ECM! That is insane! He purchased a used one online, first got the wrong one so a further delay, and then when the car was finally operating again, he still did not prioritize my car and it sat there. He had said once it was running it would be the first car painted, so he clearly lied like he had numerous times when I was checking in weekly about when this would be done, let alone actually start. It was not until May that I got it back and then he said it was around $8,000. Way over what he said months earlier! I write this review because within months my car would die while driving it! This happened numerous times. I could have died. I never thought it would be related to his team, but it 100% was. I took it to numerous mechanics who couldn't diagnose anything wrong with it, until saying it must be the ECM. I purchased one online, previously John told me how when he bought that one it was over $1,000, they are not anywhere close to that. I got one for around $200 which I know is what he did because he said all he did was plug and play. No dealership programming. This only lasted about a month and then the car began to die again. I had to take it to the dealer and pay their price for them to thoroughly diagnose my car. They had to program the ECM to my car, those aftermarket services never get the programming right and dealers have to do it they said. This is something John should have done and paid for rather than the mere plug and play that he did. I had to pay over $1,000 for this. They also said I needed a new battery and once I told them what this body shop did, he said they should have gotten a new battery if they fried the ECM and let it sit for 6 months. The battery cells were naturally dead. Then I had to take it to the dealer again because the car would shut off at idle. This diagnosis was that the fuel pump wiring was exposed. So when John did that repair it wasn't even good work! He cost me so much money over shoddy work he did. I've called and emailed and he ignores me. He owes me thousands of dollars at this point and knowing his integrity he will never respond. He was never even polite about ignoring my car for 6 months. Each time I was in there I saw people battling him about issues from when they had left their car with him. read more

***WARNING*** RECON CENTRAL in Carrollton Texas, took my Z51 Corvette for a JOYRIDE after I left it in their possession. They drove it for 30 mins, and during that time they Hard accelerated 13 times(speeds over 80+) and had 2 hard braking reports when the temp was over 100. (Please see OnStar report attached.) I brought my car to them initially to have them switch out the aperture panels. They told me it would take 5-7 days. After a few days after dropping the car off, I tried texting and calling John, but he would not respond. Trying to get any response from him was close to impossible, Which is why I pulled up my Onstar report. When I saw the location of my vehicle I see that it's been driven to a different auto shop 17miles away in East Plano?? Not at RECON! I text John again asking where my vehicle is located and he refused to give me an answer, and never answered where it was. I never gave anyone at RECON permission to drive my car anywhere. Nor was I ever made aware or gave permission for my vehicle to be moved to a totally different auto body shop. When I finally got a hold of John I told him that I pulled Onstar and can see my car was floored 13 times and had the brakes slammed twice on a 100 degree day he DENIED it and told me Onstar wasn't right..?!?!. LIES. I was told 5-7 days, BUT IT TOOK 17 DAYS!!! I told them NOT to drive my car anywhere, and I would go to the East Plano shop to get it. When I got it, the panels had a separation gap on both sides. It was not done right, but I'm NOT taking it back to RECON. read more

I am so incredibly happy to have found Recon Central! John was a joy to work with. I needed my front bumper replaced and some scratches on the rear bumper re-painted. I messaged Recon Central through Yelp and I got a quote from them very quickly. I dropped my car off at the shop Monday morning and picked it up early Thursday afternoon. I could not be happier with the repairs! You can't even tell that either bumper used to be messed up. The turnaround time was also a pleasant surprise - I was expecting it to take at least a week if not two until I got my car back. Even though all of the work I needed done was exterior, the staff cleaned the inside of the car free of cost and without me asking! Everyone I spoke to at the shop, especially John, was so nice and helpful! I know next to nothing about cars and car parts but I never felt as though I was being taken advantage of or being talked down too. The fresh homemade cookies were a delicious bonus! As long as I am living in the DFW area, if I need aesthetic car repairs, I will be returning to Recon Central. In the last Dallas wind storm a big tree branch fell on my VW Tiguan SUV. It got all scratched up on the passenger side. The scratches didn't appear to be deep so I was hoping it could be buffed out. I just needed someone who was able to make a determination so I would know if I should file an insurance claim. So I reached out on Yelp and a few companies responded but no one could actually take a look at it except for John at Recon Central. Recon Central pulled two of the inner door panels off of our son-in-law's 2009 Nissan Versa and rebuilt the arm rest/door pull handles for me. This is not something that a lot of shops would do. The job required that the material be sewn together to duplicate the factory work and it matches well. Recon also knew some tricks to break plastic fasteners apart from the original panel manufacture to disconnect the arm rest from the panel so that it could be recovered. Since parts are no longer available, and the rest of the door panel is in good shape, this saved me money and they finished the upholstery work in one day. Good job folks...thanks. First, he said the job will He charged me $1800 for the job, showed him the car and everything that needs to be fixed, he did not at any time mentioned it will be an additional cost to fix the car's upholstery. Even though he promised 3days to complete the job, after 2 whole weeks, he gave me an invoice of $2700 and insist I make full payment or he will not release the car. I made full payment and upon receiving the car, noticed a lot of issues! my car audio screen is blank! This was working perfectly before I dropped the car. He also left some areas of the car uncovered! See pictures; Also my extra tire in my trunk was missing!
