RUN, don't walk, AWAY from this repair shop!! They are no longer owned by the same family that started the business back in 1987. The previous owner passed away in 2021 and the former manager (who worked mostly with the customers) is no longer with the company either. A completely different family owns Tx Body Works now and based on my recent experience, do not appear to take the same care with their customers that the previous leadership did. The treatment was like night and day. Extremely disappointing! We dropped the car off on 6/13/23 due to extensive damage caused by the hail storm here in North Texas on 5/19/23. When told our car would be ready for pick up on 9/08/23, we arrived to find it in the condition shown in the attached pictures. When we were told the car would be delivered to us on 9/14/23 the following week, it was not delivered at the time promised and was still not completely ready by the time we drove to Carrollton to pick it up. While the work performed on our vehicle was ok and it looks nice (I cannot fault the team actually working on the cars), it took 3 months for our hail repairs to be completed. The communication from everyone we encountered at TX Body Works left a lot to be desired, to say the least. When I called, I always got the answering service, never a person in their front office. I called and left at least 5 messages with the answering service in the 3 months they had my car and they never once returned ANY of my calls. My daughter called requesting updates on her car and she was ignored as well. The only person who ever received a return call was my husband, and even then he only received a couple of calls with updates from TBW the entire time they had our car. When I resorted to email for updates, they did not respond to that communication either. Requesting a copy of my detailed, itemized statement/invoice went ignored for weeks until I let them know I would be filing a complaint with my insurance company. When they did finally respond after multiple requests, it was very defensive with a lot of excuses, mostly for personal reasons that had nothing to do with the repair of my vehicle. I completely understand going through insurance and the claim process takes time, especially now in our post-Covid world. However, being secretive about the process, being told "one more thing is needed for insurance approval then your car will be ready", and seeing a completely different list of additional items being claimed for repairs is another. Examples: Astronomical hours of labor being charged - original estimate 23 hrs for body work vs actual 90 hrs; a $500 windshield (that they broke!) was charged to insurance for almost $1,700!! Our insurance company (a large national company) has been made aware of our concerns and the TX Attorney General and TX Department of Insurance will be notified as well. Consumer Beware!! read more

This place changed for lots of items they did not do they changed 99.99 for a wheel and 149.95 for a tire and the wheel was so damaged the tire would not hold air so that tires was destroyed. They changed 99.31 for a hubcap on the bent wheel so that did not stay. They changed 134.28 for a strut that they did not replace. Very dishonest stay away Run. read more

I purchased a Porsche Panamera 2023 model in November and 2 weeks later I had a rear end collision that damaged my rear bumper. I was told by many that it had to be replaced. I went in with a 2009 Nissan Versa to get a door handle repaired (it was stolen from the driver's door). This was a job that was a pain in the rear and not worth messing with, but John treated me well. I got parts from a dealer and he installed them and also fixed a couple of other things. They also restored the headlight lens back to clear and new looking. My only disappointment was that Texas Body Works is temporarily without upholstery services as their long time expert just retired. They are expanding to the area next door to increase their space. Good service gets more business! I went back with daughter's Chrysler van, and they did a better than original job fixing a dent in the tailgate and the rear bumper step pad. Guess who else got the refurb on her headlight lens? I will be a hero after finding this shop! Thanks guys for quality work on the family cars. Great service, for a great price. Had a bumper that needed painting and installing. Darrin gave me what I thought was a very fair quote (paying out of pocket, bringing my own parts) and explained any possible extra costs that may be involved (potential fitment issues due to it being an aftermarket bumper). In the end, nothing extra was needed. They got my car in right away and got it done very quickly, even though they were very busy at the time. I dropped my car off on a Friday evening before going out of town, and it was ready when I got back on Thursday. If and when I need more work done, I'll be going back to Texas Body Works. read more

Contacted Texas Body Works Last 04/29/2016 about my 1971 Firebird When disassembly started the rear bumper had damaged the truck floor and that would need replaced also as I was there talking to Darrin he made the comment I should just buy another car I was stunned asked why, he said its a lot of work to fix this car at that point As the repair started i was quoted time frame for completion multiple times that kept falling up short after 3 months the Insurance company pulled the rental car. since the repair was taking such a long time I started asking about other things that I wanted fixed mainly the drivers door repainted the drivers quarter panel and both windows which we agreed they would fix i ordered all new glass and new hardware new door handles and key cylinders for them to install. They continued with the other repairs which involved dropping the gas tank and having the rear wiring harness hanging off the back of my ride for months as the repair was being pushed aside for other cars coming in this went on for months and went into 2017 they was finally starting to make progress I was notified several times to bring gas for the car and at some point noticed the gas gauge reading way past full and I asked about it I was told the gauge was already like that when the car arrived which I immediately informed them the gauge did in fact work something must have happened when the gas tank was removed from the car I was told we will check it. After there inspection turned up nothing I started to suspect foul pay I inquired about it and offered to pay them to replace the sending unit in an effort to get my car back they charged me $150.00 I purchased the sending unit for $50.00 put it in something still broken but now the right side turn signal is also acting up Darrin told me they inspected and it was in the steering column and the gas gauge itself was defective and had nothing to do with the shop I knew better and informed him I would take my car to auto electric to find out the issue since his shop couldn't. took the car to Auto Electric in Plano they confirmed the damage was in the rear of the car and it was associated with the accident and repair of my car , seems the turn signal problem was being shorted out to the gas tank in such a way to be heating up the gas in the gas tank and burning out the sending units creating a fire hazard I contacted the insurance company paying for the accident let them talk to auto electric at that time the insurance company agreed Texas Body works was responsible and paid the repairs I contacted Darrin and TBW at that time he agreed to refund my money. I return the car to TBW to complete there repairs as I am walking around the car i started noticing a few things that wasnt right the windows they installed wouldnt actually roll all the way up there was a large gap between the glass and the roof line. I opened the door tried rolling it up it was very hard to turn the handles and the glass had gaps all over they said we will fix it then I was told the door panel had broke the plastic ribbing and the rubber molding was missing some rivets forcing me to buy another set $550.00 . there was some paint that was missing on the rear spoiler, someone had dented the passenger door metal from the inside out while installing the passenger side glass and hardware making what appears to be a bubble in the door. the trunk wouldnt close without slamming it over and over they had missed an area of undercoating bigger than your fist inside the driverside rear fender that had exposed metal that was already showing rust. I pointed everything out to Darrin and was told we will fix and refund my out of pocket for the gas gauge when I showed up at TBW shop Darren had other ideals after assuring me they would cover there errors and refund my out of pocket on the gas tank parts they damaged once I arrived Darren refused to refund the money (150.00) on the gas tank parts and that's after the insurance rep even told them they paid for the repair after talking with auto electric and confirming TBW was responsible I showed him that the door windows wouldn't roll all the way up Darren grabs the door opens it up grabs the door grass and yanks it up and closes the door said there you go I'm again stunned moving to the drivers door they painted and showed him the paint was already flaking off and they missed a spot sanding around the door handles Darren quickly said that must have happened at Auto Electric and they wasn't covering anything period that's after spending over $5000 on two doors and glass install and painting one door and quarter panel the total repair with parts was over $20000 and they refusing to honor any of there work and warranty they had my car over one year after all that this company was caught lying to me about the gas gauge then robbed me on the refund and refused to honor there warranty and did less than quality work I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone. read more

I had gotten rear-ended and made sure to got several estimates. Another body shop recommended Texas Body Works, so I decided to give them a shot. I'm so glad I did! The people there were very nice and helpful. The other person's insurance company tried to give me an after-market bumper, but Texas Body Works was able to get me a Nissan bumper (my car is only 7 years old). I really appreciated that. It has been 5 stars for Texas Body Works since I first went in for an estimate. I came in with 2 very different estimates from local body shops and Darren was able to explain to me the differences between the two and give me an estimate of his own. A few weeks later I decided to bring my vehicle in, within just the 5 minutes it took to get an estimate I felt that Darren was definitely someone I could trust. They told me it would take about a week. They finished the work in 4-5 days and it looks fantastic. From their office manager Tamara, to Darren, to the few techs that I spoke with over the course of the process (I'm sorry - names are escaping me!), every single person that works here has an overwhelming sense of customer service and common human decency.
