I have been wanting to come here for almost 2 years to purchase a hot tub or and bathtub jacuzzi- well as I say I gotta be careful what I wish for because it always comes true but totally different than I wished for I ended up there today but it actually was a good thing because I'm having my trauma seizures due to something awful throughout my life and then another one another one in the big one anyway after being three of them for 10 months their back and I happen to not have my service dog with me and I was just it was a bad bad time I went in here I went to the restroom to hide out finish my seizure often healthy and excited to finally be there I could at least look at a Jacuzzi tub because the sicko cabdriver not uber taxi cab taxi cab Was just another layer for me and I don't need any of them let alone the million and a half piled up unddeserved so I have these trauma seizures I don't go in conscience let me Telya everybody there cause I pick up on vives everything is very sensitive and loud at this time since they started about almost 5 years ago well I was on the phone with my mom she helps me through them as much as she can the phone I didn't have my service dog as I said earlier I think I'm talk texting by the way I guess a lady came in obviously and overheard me talking to my mom and just kindly asked me and I could tell right away she was being kind not nosy or prying or assuming or judging or anything like that negative she cared she talk to me she offered me water she offered me a chair she offered me a chair to sit down in that bathroom she was so involved another young girl came in kind of Saul I could tell that I was OK and Dolores was in there with me and everything was safe with her and seek with me without even words said smiled at me so kindly and true and left and that's how my seizures I get out of them and it's the one and only way because when you have see PTSD in these seizures brought on by triggers and flashbacks and high anxiety and panic from nowhere or somewhere anywhere and everywhere there's no medication for us we have to have real and true loving care and I know for myself and a handful of others that have similar ones in history like me of undeserving Ness we only have one or two people I always have only had one person really so in total strangers get us and we know it right away it really saves our life literally Thank you from the depths of my heart and soul Dolores and thank you to all of your staff because I at least got a look from every single person in there and not one luck was absolutely in anyway rude it was all just kindness and I wasn't there for a pity party I never ran thank you all of you I will be back like I told you forever and ever grateful this alone should make your store the only store that anyone buys from because this store how it's ran from management to employees to customers is absolutely phenomenal read more

When you are in the store spending lots of money , they are full of promises! Once they have your money the promises they made at time of sale go out the window! On top of that when you complain they arerude and pretty much laugh at you. I do get it they sell the stuff then a third party delivers it they're ere find then they have a electrician come and hook the stuff up. The electrician was supposed to be next day he was a week later and that was me calling everyday. The electrician was supposed to hook hot tub and bar. Hot tub was 9 feet from where the panel was going the guy said he trenched\dug 29 feet when he gave us the bill at 19 dollars a foot I think because of my house how nice and big it is he thought was office guy or a tard I looked at him said follow me grabbed my tape and ran it it was 8 feet that Electrcian looked at me and almost cried two other guys got out the truck older guy and kid and said what's the issue and I told him and he looked at the guy and said why did you put that obviously it's something they do to ppl to get a couple hundred easy dollars . They they didn't hook the bar up you had to fish the wires thru the ceiling they just said no thanks . So the quote we got for rec warehouse was around 13 hundred that was to hook pool heater up hot tub and run a 110 so the bar fridge would work they did the tub and pool heater and tried to charge 2100... they were here from 11 to 4 and left for one hour. Once they new I knew my shit not to mention we spent 39 thousand at Rex warehouse they charged us 1100 to hook it up. If I were in charge at Rec warehouse I'd fire those sun contractors so fast their head would spin . What rec warehouse doesn't get is know your customer if I'm dropping 39 grand in under a hour wasn't picky didn't look all around I'd say hmmm these folks might know some ppl. Rec warehouse when it's said and done you will lose lots of money over some dumb ass electricians that when I called Brian he stood up for them explained how you don't get it that's a great deal for them to be at your house all day and do half the work we said they would do. Idiot. Two of my daughters already went other places to buy hot tubs and outdoor stuff and anyone who asked me I tell them the scam they run... Maybe Brian's getting this kickback from the electricians when they try ripping ppl off. That's just speculation. Avoid this place at ALL cost!!! read more

Only bought parts for my tub here...so far so good. Any recent reviews regarding supply chain issues are not the stores fault per se...that said, employees need to kiss butt when the usual expectations are adverse or back-ordered--it is a skill that can't be trained very well... Who wants to call with bad news? Their service guy was a gem, a rarity amongst service techs... I managed Hotspring, Sundance, Dimension One and other retailers so I know a savvy service guy. It is said a happy customer tells 3 or 4, unhappy tells 20 or 30...or, U can't please everybody... Just recently, I met a sales dude their whose attitude was alienating to say the least. I felt pre-judged as an annoying older wingnut that will waste his time and cost him a shot at a real 'customer'... Such a great store can do better than to employ folks who can't fake a smile... read more

Have made a few purchases from recreational warehouse over the past 11 years and have always been impressed with product and services

They are friendly and courteous until they get your money, then they cannot be bothered by you. They do not return calls or emails in a professional time frame, they schedule incorrect contractors, thus leaving you with an inoperable hot tub until the correct contractor can be scheduled, and they argue with you on the phone when you call to voice your disappointment. The Port Charlotte location is much better to deal with. read more

Not very good service after the sale. Need to depart for a hot tub and they couldn't provide it after two months of telling us that it was on order they ordered the wrong part. Terrible customer service , everyone super nice when purchasing my pool, after it was delivered they are no longer any help at all!!! My pool was delivered with missing parts. I drove to the store to complain about missing parts was given parts with holes in them ( salesman at the store said they can't get the missing parts... supply issues) , called left multiple messages to have manager call us to rectify problem ..... never heard a word.. Very disappointing, I would never give this company another of my hard earned dollars. Ordered and paid cash for a hot tub and was told it would be delivered in approximately 90 days. Received a call 30 days later stating that they had a sale cancellation and could deliver my tub 30 days earlier then previously quoted. I said great lets do it. Hot tub showed up, guys unpacked and put it in place. I never heard anything from Recreational warehouse. No call from anyone to see verify that the delivery was successful and that all was good. Not one call. Fast forward a year and two weeks and SPA is leaking. I contacted Recreation Warehouse in Port Charlotte where I purchased it and was informed that the Spa had a one year warranty and that I would have to contact ( number provided) a 3rd party company for repair. So very poor customer support and follow-up. Stay far away if considering a Hot Tub. read more

The set up crew and electrician we worked with (that work with Recreational Warehouse) were all highly professional and did a professional job. Ordered a custom outdoor kitchen and was told they could start in two to three weeks. We had no problem with that time frame. Two weeks later we were called to advise of the materials to be delivered. They showed up as advised, BUT, the order was missing several of the parts and more than 70% of the stone. We found out the stone is back order till who knows when, and now the two pallets of material are sitting out by our pool. No one communicated and when contacted all they would is say "we're sorry." OF COURSE THEY REQUIRED FULL PAYMENT WHEN THEY SUPPOSEDLY DELIVERED THE MATERIALS.. DON'T TRUST THEM.. GET IT IN WRITING AND NO MONEY UNTIL YOUR ORDER IS CORRECT. We needed a new heat pump for our pool. Got several quotes from several places, but you just can't beat the prices at Recreational Warehouse. We have bought 3 heat pumps over 22 years and have always bought them at Recreational Warehouse. Super friendly, super informative. I also want to give a shout out to their installers - Just Pools and Spas installed the heater and did a superb job! I can't recommend them. The spa was delivered dirty. The salesman promised he would clean the spa before it was delivered.The electrician didn't come at the appointed time and wouldn't return phone calls. The delivery people were competent but didn't have with them furniture pads or gliders to make the job easier and diminish the risk of damage. read more

We have purchased a hot tub during a scratch and dent sale. Love the hot tub and the delivery was flawless. We also purchased a complete Bull summer kitchen. When we ordered we ordered the wrong size hood, and had no trouble returning it. They are easy to work and friendly. We highly recommend them to anyone. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE! I spent $6,500 in this store for all new equipment for my spa and pool only to have key parts go out just out of the warranty. I had to fight to replace the pool pump that was a week out of warranty when it literally blew to pieces. Bought a new heating tube for my spa for $350 plus tax and a year later it's out again, I have to buy a new one. They sell "generic" parts as Mike calls it and they don't even know what the warranty is on what they sell. Stay away from this store and take your business elsewhere. read more

The following morning I saw a television commercial stating the sale was still going on. It has been 2 weeks now and I still see the commercial. Since the Charlotte, NC location has permanently closed, I'll just leave my review here. We purchased a new spa years ago. They delivered and installed the spa. It worked great for a couple years, then it started leaking. The leaks keep getting worse. So, I removed the sides to investigate. This is what I have discovered: The plumbing used is hard PVC and flexible PVC pipe. The installer used CPVC glue, not PVC glue. There is a difference; you can't use CPVC glue on PVC pipe. PVC pipe uses a 2 step process that requires a primer before gluing. There are so many leaks. Wherever a pipe connects to a fitting, there is the orange CPVC glue, causing a leak in the connection. The leaking has actually destroyed the wood on my deck underneath the spa. So now I have to move the spa, replace and resurface the wood, and then pull all the plumbing loose to glue it properly. I don't recommend using any REC Warehouse location for pools and spas. This is ridiculous, and REC Warehouse should be fixing my deck and my spa. read more

We recently purchased our hot tub from Recreational Warehouse in Port Charlotte. Our buying experience was exceptional! When we entered their showroom, we were greeted and we were asked if they could help us. Being new to the hot tub scene, we really didn't want a "hard sell". The experience we had was nothing at all like this. We wandered the showroom for about a half hour when we were approached by Dennis who saw we were interested in a couple of tubs. Dennis answered our many questions knowledgeably and came across more as a consultant than a salesperson. When we made a decision and were prepared to buy, Dennis made the process stress less. About two weeks after we took delivery, we were informed by our local building department that the location of the tub on our lanai did not meet code and that we had to move it further from the power source. As it was too heavy for us to move I called Recreational Warehouse and spoke to one of the managers, Matt. We were prepared to pay a fee to have the delivery guys come out to move it. Matt said "no worries" and offered to stop by on his way to work with his co-Manager, Mike. These guys made short work in moving our tub to the right location. The staff at the store has been very helpful answering our many questions about operating the tub, testing our water, giving us helpful suggestions, etc. we highly recommend these guys. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. If you do buy an above ground pool from them DO NOT use their installer (Admiral Pools). It took 3 months from the time I bought the pool until install. When we tried to get moved up in the schedule, we couldn't get the salesman to respond. He had no problem taking our money, but abandoned us after the sale. This was the second pool I purchased from Rec Warehouse. The first pool lasted 15 years with no issues. The installer left personal trash behind, dug a hole in my yard without asking because they needed more dirt for the pool bottom, and threw pavers in the hole (which broke). The pool bottom was not level, and they did nothing to remove any rocks from under the pool. I did a better job when I installed my first pool on my own. I have patched 3 leaks, and still have more leaks in my liner. Rec Warehouse will not back up their products. They sent the installer back out to check for leaks. All he did was try to cover his and Rec Warehouse's backsides, making up BS excuses for why the holes have appeared. The installer knew we were upset with how they left our property during the install and decided it would be a good idea to bring that up. He basically called my wife a liar regarding the issues we had. Additionally, I just had to replace my 13 month old pool pump that I bought for my 1st pool from Rec Warehouse. The only thing I am thankful for was that I wasn't home during this last visit. It would not have been good. read more

Terrible Repair Service!!! In mid-December 2014 the Leisure Bay tub we bought from Recreational Warehouse in 2010 starting leaking from the filter area. Rec Warehouse referred us to Ben at Sensible Spa Solutions who sent his guy out to look at our tub. The next day Ben informed us we needed a new pump ($850 including labor, etc). Two days later he brought out a pump (no box, no warranty), did not fill the tub to test for leaks, and demanded payment on the spot. After filling the tub we found it was still leaking from the filter area. We called Ben who said his guy would come by to have a look. Three days later, after nobody showed up, we left a message that we'd stop payment on his check. Ben called that day and told us he would not come back out to fix the problem, but he'd give us a refund if we removed the pump at our expense and returned it to him. We asked to see our old pump but Ben said he couldn't find it. After hiring someone to remove the pump Ben had installed, we discovered that pump a) wasn't new; b) was missing the impeller and seal kit; and c) wasn't properly installed. We returned the pump to Rec Warehouse and told them what we thought of Ben at Sensible Spas. We found another company (Hillbilly Hot Tubs) who happily brought out a new pump in the box with warranty, installed the pump, reapplied sealer around the filter, filled the tub, tested everything and set the pH and bromine levels. They were wonderful and charged us far less than Sensible Spas to actually fix the leak and repair Ben's mess. Our bottom line is save yourself a lot of time, money and headache by avoiding Recreational Warehouse and Sensible Spas. They have clearly developed a sweetheart deal that keeps business flowing regardless of their shoddy work and poor customer service. read more
