I have for many years purchased my appliances at Bill Smiths. I started my relationship with Bill Smith because they have their own technicians. Many of the big box stores hire sub contractors , which personally I do not care for. I recently had a technician in my home evaluating my oven and washer. His names was Tony. He was very professional, knowledgable and had common sense. Going Forward, Tony is my technician for our appliance issues. The day following our service call, I went to Bill Smith to purchase a new oven. Again, I had another professional, knowledgable and common sense employee of Bill Smth, Dave Watson. He had so much knowledge regarding my oven and washer along with professionalism and common sense answers to my questions. We recently met with Paul at their Fort Myers location on a Sunday morning, following a refrigerator malfunction. Since we had a ten year old Kenmore and Sears no longer exists, we decided to replace with a GE Profile (made in USA) Paul was experienced, professional and patient with us, and he assisted us in finding a replacement which met all of our needs at a competitive price. He was able to schedule replacement and installation within 48 hours, with their experienced full time employees. This was the first refrigerator we ever had to replace during our 62 year marriage, and Paul made us feel so comfortable with the entire process, we elected to also replace our 14 yr old original dishwasher, in order to match the refrigerator. Although the dishwasher required installation by an outside vendor with electrical and plumbing training, Bill Smith was their exclusive customer, and both appliances were delivered the same day as promised, and installed by properly trained technicians. So in follow-up to my last note: 1. I met a person named Dallas who was thoughtful and understanding who helped coordinate the repair visit on my time frame. She was truly wonderful. 2. Multiple interior parts were changed on now the the fourth visit. The door stayed close for one cycle now not working again. Wish I could send them a bill for the time I am missing due to their inability to either fix the unit, refund the $2K we paid or replace. Fast to sell you something. Fast to sell you a service agreement. HEAVEN HELP YOU if you ever need service. Purchased a refrigerator was told it will be in on a certain day and they would be calling to schedule delivery. The day they told me the refrigerator would be in stock came and went. Two days after the day I was told that would be available. I called and asked what the story was. Very nonchalantly the sales person said oh yeah it's not in stock but will call you when it comes in stock. That left a bad tsdte in my mouth because spending as much money as I was spending I would've thought the sales person would have proactively contacted me to let me know. It didn't arrive on the date that she said it was going to arrive, but no typical sales person get the sale and then forget about the customer. She got her commission. She was happy Refrigerator finally arrived in stock nearly 2 weeks after the date I was given, and we arranged a delivery time. Delivery was completed by two very nice gentlemen at the time I was pleased. Couple days later I noticed no ice was being made, and no water was being dispensed from the water dispenser on the inside of the unit. I thought to my self no problem. I purchased a service agreement from Bill Smith. Let me call their service department. The first call to service I spoke to a woman and one of the first things out of her mouth was if the tech comes to your house and determines that it's not a service call we will bill you $50 Well I understand the concept behind this I don't feel it should be the first thing out her mouth. I explained the situation that I wasn't getting ice and I wasn't getting water and she said well. Did you replace the filter? I explained to her that I've only had the unit two weeks and her response was well yeah but sometimes out of the factory that come with a bad filter. I explained to her that I didn't think it was my responsibility to replace the filter on a unit owe me two weeks old after spending as much as I spent on the refrigerator itself. We then went into the process of attempting to schedule a service appointment with my current work schedule. I'm off on Thursdays and Saturdays right after that she told me well. We don't work on Saturdays unless they get paid overtime and your address is not in the Thursday service. Area. At that time being extremely frustrated by the utter lack of good customer service I was receiving I ended call and did not make a service appointment. About a month went by and I decided to call again because I needed ice and water from my unit. At this point in time, I made an appointment for a Friday and was told it should be sometime between nine and one. Friday comes , 9-1 comes and goes, and I called the service department to inquire when the repair technician would be coming. It's at that point in time I deal with the gentleman that says he doesn't show any appointment for me and repeatedly keeps asking me. Are you sure you made an appointment? Are you sure it was for today? Not only. Is it super frustrating to be waiting for a service call and then to be told there's not one even on the books for you Once again, the happy-go-lucky nonchalant attitude of well. We really don't care if we inconvenience you. I can schedule you an appointment now if you like. I requested to speak with a supervisor to elaborate upon my frustration, but as typical, I'm still waiting to hear from that supervisor. Like I said in the first sentence of my review, they're very fast to sell you an appliance. They're very fast to sell you a service agreement but good luck if you need service. We decided to upgrade our kitchen appliance with refrigerator, range, microwave oven and dish washer. Once a decision on what features and brands we wanted. We went to several name brand appliance stores like Good Deals, Best Buy, Lowe's, and Home Depot. Several of my neighbors used Bill Smith for appliance purchase, installation and maintenance. We went to Bill Smith at Cleveland Ave and was greeted by Chuck Young, one of best salesman in the store. Chuck patiently shows us our preferred models and its comparable or alternative solution. Obviously, he is knowledgeable with no sale pressure. Chuck alerted us there is a shortage of refrigerators and other delays. Some models will take up to 3 or 4 months before it is available. I told him that our refrigerator is not holding up. With a smile, he said, "we can lend you a free loaner until your appliance is ready for installation!" What an instant relief! We ordered a KitchenAid package. 120 days later, they completed the whole installation. They have specialized installers for refrigerators and ranges, dish washers and microwave ovens. Each installer called before their scheduled arrival. Six weeks later after full installation not a single issue or problem were encountered. Very professional work! Amazing, I found that their price is better than Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot, and Good Deals. In addition, there is $400 rebate from KitchenAid! Our experience is totally positive with Bill Smith! Initially we had a great experience here, since then it has not been great. We have been waiting almost two months for our refrigerator to arrive. I called and was told we were "next" to get our refrigerator when delivered and after a few week called for an update and was told that we were "second in line". After having the most difficult time attempting to place an order for 3 kitchen appliances and 4 TV's at Best Buy I called Bill Smith Appliances. Best Buy couldn't get delivery of my items for 6 weeks, because they needed to schedule in conjunction with Geek Squad, and an independent company to remove old appliances. Tried for 8 hours back and forth on the phone to cancel the order placed online. I spoke to 2 computer operators, 4 customer service reps and 24 hours later still waiting on my credit. Today I called Bill Smith Appliance I spoke to a salesperson named Jean who was amazing! Placed the order in less than 30 minutes, made special arrangements to deliver my items on Saturday, outside there normal delivery schedule. Arranged to have all appliances hooked up and TV's mounted and old appliances hauled away. Not to mention the pricing was even better the Best Buy! Went to Fort Meyers store and was properly greeted. Our intention was to purchase an entire kitchen package and wanted some imformation and guidance. The older sales guy that approached us didnt seem to want the incovienence of answering or looking up product imformation. When we asked about lead time if we ordered, his was response was don't count on getting anything fast. What a complete jerk and unprofesssional. We are so glad we expierienced that as we could only imagine how bad the service/support would have been after the sale. We went to Good Deals Appliance down the road and had an awesome expierience. My washing machine was beyond repair and I had gotten the run around for several weeks from a big box store that claimed they had a machine they could deliver- but actually never did - and finally admitted was on back order. I went immediately to Bill Smith and explained my problem. The sales associate, Camilo Charles, listened to my requests spent plenty of time locating a model, in my preferred brand, that was actually available. He then located the matching dryer. He made sure they both got delivered to our home the very next day. Nothing short of a miracle. Mr. Charles was very helpful, and the company delivered what they promised. I purchased a Bosch refrigerator among other appliances at Bill Smith in Fort Myers in 2020. Last November my refrigerator (I purchased an extended warranty, with a promise that if they could not fix the product they would replace it) started shutting down for a few minutes at a time and then tun back on. I contacted Bill Smith and since then they've been 5 times in my house trying to fix the issue. They were not able to fix it, refuse to replace the refrigerator and want to keep coming back. It has been 6 months and I still have the problem with my refrigerator. On top of it the technician from moving the refrigerator so many times ended up damaging the side of the refrigerator. I filled a complaint on 04/27/2022 and so far I don't have any resolution for this matter. Be careful with what they promise and the extended warranty that they sale. read more

I did not expect my new washer to dent up my dryer and the cabinet to the left of it but it did on its first smallish load. A year ago, I bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer at Bill Smiths. They installed it. First wash was 6 average size towels - not big ones - and they were not thick ones. It was a small load. When it went to spin it went unbalanced and badly dented the washer, the dryer on the right and the cabinet on the left. I ran to stop it but too late. I tried another load, but the same thing happened. I called and they came to look at it and said the delivery people never balanced it. I wanted a new one since the washer is badly dented. They would not do that. i wanted some compensation for the dented washer, dented dryer, cabinet - they said no. Ever since then it goes unbalanced over the tiniest thing. I think it broke when the first unbalance happened because it has never worked right since, but the repair guy said all was fine. I just tried to wash 4 fishing shirts - a little bulky since they are cotton and a men's size large but only a small load overall. I stopped the unit just before the spin and arranged everything and let it spin. When the washer went unbalanced, it broke. The tub is off center and will not go back. The repair guy recommends a new washer. He said it partly broke inside after the first unbalance and probably never worked right since - and that was true. Don't pay cash or by check. You have no recourse. Pay by credit card so you have some power. If things go wrong in the first month, like with the delivery, you can do a charge back. read more

Check loaner refrig before it's brought into house - took me two hours to clean and door never did close completely. After many complaints, finally tech said to replace and my ordered refrig surprisingly appeared after threats of canceling order. Demand that at least one delivery/installer speaks your language! Supposedly gave me $179 credit on $4K order, but with all the charges for delivery, installation and bs can't figure out. Cape Coral's manager retired and home office refused to contact him about his promises. Our 18 year old KitchenAid Refrigerator stopped working overnight and we called three appliance dealers to try to find a speedy suitable replacement. Bill Smith's Fort Myers representative told me it would be an 8 to 16 week wait unless I wanted a smaller sized Samsung that would leave large gaps on either side of our opening. When I asked if they had anything else he responded "no...it's a world wide pandemic, global supply chain shortages and Hurricane Ian..." In other words sorry for your luck take it or leave it. I then called Good Deals Appliances in Fort Myers. The stark difference in these two organizations was phenomenal, not only did they have a large selection of KitchenAid products in their warehouse, they arranged for emergency delivery at no extra cost and were a delight to work with. Looking over the other postings here, apparently my experience was not unique. Bill Smith Appliance seems to take a 'how can I get ride of you' instead of a 'how can I help you' approach and I will not forget that when it's time to replace other appliances and electronics. read more

Years ago, Bill Smith was the place to go. Good products, good service. Unfortunately that is no longer true. Our refrigerator died after a Thursday night thunderstorm. I called first thing Friday and requested service. I was told that Friday was booked but they would get me in if they could and, in any case, they would be out Monday. They showed up Monday late afternoon and confirmed that the main board was fried. They also said that it would be one week to get the part. I told them that I could get the part in two days and was told that, in that case, they would install it. The board came and I called Bill Smith for the install. They told me that they could come out in ONE WEEK! We went on to YouTube, watched a video and installed it ourselves - with some difficulty. I'm done with Bill Smith. read more

So I have to buy bag ice for 2 weeks after buying a new refrigerator. Having a 2 week backlog tells you something about the quality of the products they sell. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Very disappointed experience today. We went in to purchase a new LG TV. We had done our homework in advance but wanted an explanation between the 2 Models we were looking at. The salesman (after quite a wait for anyone to help us) basically could tell us that one was on clearance and less expensive. His attitude was "I know you are going to buy one, just tell me which one". We left and went across the street to Best Buy. Found a very knowledgeable salesman who explained 3 different models. I went in this store looking for a front load washer with dryer to match. There was at least 3 maybe 4 sales people setting at their desk. One was with a customer but the others was on the phone. Not any of those on the phone looked up and acknowledge me as I open and shut doors on the appliances I was looking at. They couldn't say "I'll be with you in a moment " nothing. After 10 minutes on my own I started to the door to leave and finally one said "can I help you?" If they can't help you or at least acknowledge you, then I wonder what their service would be! How do they stay in business? Last summer I stopped into Bill Smith's on Del Prado to buy a refrigerator for our condo on Fort Myers Beach. The condo is a rental so I was not looking for anything special, just a side by side unit with an ice maker. No matter which unit I looked at I was told they were out of stock, that there was an appliance shortage, and nothing would be available for anywhere from six weeks to six months. Further the shortage affected every appliance store along the Eastern seaboard. We left, disappointed. I called a major area competitor to see what the story was and lo and behold, they had the exact unit I had settled on and it was available immediately and was later in the week too soon for delivery? Now, fast forward to today, 11/24/2024. I stopped at Bill Smith to look at microwaves as ours went down on Thanksgiving and I had purchased our last one from Bill Smith. The salesman told me they were out of microwaves, they were backed up and to not expect any delivery for at least six weeks. Again, I called the same competitor and, you guessed it, they had the unit in stock and could deliver and install early next week. I ask again, how does Bill Smith stay in business? read more

GE refrifgerator stopped cooling in the frig portion of the box. Freezer worked fine. Bought the appliances from Bill Smith so we thought we'd give their service a try. Technician came out as scheduled and said they needed to replace a circulation fan and they did not have one on their truck. Would call back. Week goes by and no call. Call them. Rather flippant young lady in the service department tells me it is on order and because it is made in China, she has not idea when they might get it. Another 10 days go by. The frig is unusable as the temp in the box is 63 degrees. Thak goodness we have a second fig in the garage. FInally get a call now at the 2 week point tha they have the part. They come out and install it and say it may take 24 hours for things to be normal. We put the food back in the frig. Next day the temp in the food area is 24 degrees and things are frozen, The temp in the fresh food hydraters is 12 degrees. All the fresh vegetables, frozen solid. Call them back and they say it will be a week before they can come out. I suggest they reevaluate this. They do and the same tech is back the next day. He sayd the trainee he had with him failed to connnect a wire. Runs diagnostics again and says things all set. Next day, nothing has changed. Still a freezer up top. Things frozen that should not be. This is a Friday. They do not do service on the weekend. Left a lengthy message, asking for a call on Monday morning. No call. Wife calls just after 8 am Monday morning and as before, told they have to speak to the technician (this guy has been with them 24 years I had previously garnered in converstaion) and will call back. It is now 4:45 pm on Modnay adternoon and no return call. I call them again, politely tell the service advisor of the situation (still). To her credit, she gets with a manager and I an to expcet a new technician and service call on Tuesday. We'll see. Temp in the hydrater is 12 degrees. 18 degree above it. Water on the door is still frozen. I think it is fair to say we are not at all impressed with Bill Smith service. Attached pics were just taken. Small bowl of water in the hydrater frozen solid. If it is not fixed Tuesday, I am prepared to go to one of their stores and advise people going in that their service is horrible! I think that's fair. read more

Their customer service is awful. I would never call them again under any circumstances. I was on hold to make an appointment for a service call for my refrigerator for 40 minutes. How about hiring some more people to answer the phone? Then, they call me the day of the appointment and I missed the call. Their voice mail stated that I MUST call them back to confirm the appointment asap. I called back and told the person who answered the phone that I was only calling to confirm an appointment hoping to avoid the waiting game. No such luck. Put on hold again for 20 minutes. I only stuck with it because they had worked on the refrigerator for warranty issues for the previous owners of our home. Now that we are done with that, I will NEVER call them again........be warned. read more

I am a loyal customer my previous home had a 50'' television which I had taken out the warrantee 2 days after it expired we had an issue with the set .To make this a short story they came out replaced the part that was bad at NO cost to me. I was thrilled I moved again and updated all of my appliances and Televisions through Bill Smith.
