Had the best experience I have ever had in a bike shop at this place:) I went in with a bike I had been given to see how much it would cost to get it to where it would be functional. They assessed the bike and were very honest about the fact that it would cost more then what the bike would be worth if I bought it new to fix it. Needless to say I was super disappointed in this news and told them the story of how I had been given that bike in the first place..... When the owner heard that I had previously had a super nice bike before moving over from Western Washington, and then had my bike stolen after moving to Eastern Washington for a short time. I was given the bike I brought in by a super nice local couple, to just have something functional and to save on gas while going to school in the Fall. I was super excited to have a bike to ride again and wanted to bring it in to see what could be done to be able to safely ride it and feel comfortable about not ending up on the side of the road stranded. I could not afford to buy another new bike. The owner then told me that they had just received the cruiser that he was working on, he said that they rarely get in used bikes, and gave me a screaming deal on it:) The bike fits my stature and frame perfectly:) They were so patient with me going over all my questions about the care of the bike and how to keep it nice and cared for properly. They entered the bike into their system and assured me that the bike repair and care records would be well documented. I was so impressed by the owners generosity as well as the knowledge, kindness, and patience of everyone that worked there:) And I absolutely love the bike:) With the personable and knowledgeable service of this establishment, I will not ever be going anywhere else to trade up or purchase a bike in the future. They have my loyalty as a continued lifetime customer. I'm not alone here. They are liars and cheat. Especially if you a buying for a simple DIY project, re: rear brake cable. They will tell you everything is standard when it is NOT. I tried and tried, but this is the wrong part because it doesn't seat properly. My rig up worked better. There is a round part on top of the rhombus. They want to charge me again for the part and labor. They will likely try and sell me a new brake configuration. These people are horrible cheaters and liars read more

I was in the middle of a bike tour and had just popped a tube the day before. I came in the store looking for a couple spare tubes, gave the salesperson my tire measurements but he didn't trust me to know my tire size so I looked at him while he looked for the measurements on wheels I've been riding for thousands of miles. On the other hand, he was super helpful and did a saddle measurement after I asked to look at the saddles. The new saddle definitely made the rest of the tour bearable. Unbeatable I live 45 minutes away from Recycle shop and finally contacted them when looking for a new bike. From the time I was on the phone with them to this day (3 months later) they have been top notch. Short Story: I have very bad problems with hands and feet going numb while riding. The time I've spent bike fitting with Fred and Ken (multiple hours) has caused these to not be a problem with me. I knew Fred would take care of me when I asked him "What if buying a new bike, bike fit, and shoes don't solve this problem??" He responded "Then I'll find someone who can solve it." Long Story: As said above, my hands and feet would go terribly numb 10 miles into a ride and make it almost unbearable. Come to find out, I've been wearing wrong size shoes, wrong size bike, and taking advice from people that don't know what they are doing. I spent alot of time (2 hours) working with Recycle to make sure the bike that I was going to get was going to work for me and be the right size. 2 weeks later I finally decided on a bike and got everything setup the way it should be. Coming back a couple of times after that to make some small adjustments have made it that much better. Side Note: My bike developed a crack in the carbon top tube. I brought it in and Tanner got it swapped out with Specialized no questions asked. A week later I'm on a brand new bike, setup just like the previous one. Moral: I'm a service driven person and like to be on a first name basis with any kind of customers or suppliers I have. Its hard for me to buy local after not really being helped out by other shops closer to me now after dealing with Recycle I won't shop anywhere else and they have gotten my lifetime business and suggestions. I just had an amazing experience with the Recycle Shop! I called to rent a bike for a few days while attending a conference so I wouldn't have to rent a car. Even though the shop doesn't rent bikes, the guys heard my request and found me a bike to loan me! Obviously, they didn't need to do that and as a visitor it wasn't going to benefit them except for the karma which they have a surplus of anyway. I am sooo appreciative of their care and it made me feel part of the larger cycling community no matter where I live. I also enjoyed my stay exponentially more due to being able to ride from my hotel to the campus for the conference. Simply stated... They changed my life. The service I received was top notch. When I shop for something new I expect to be educated and not treated like an idiot because I don't know something. Every single person in that store went above and beyond to ensure I knew what was going on. I was fitted properly for all accessories including the bike! I had no idea the depth of everything. I spent a pretty penny but the fact I received the "WOW" experience, I don't have buyer's remorse. As previously stated, they changed my life. On a friends recommendation, I came up from the Tri-Cities for a bike fit session - not the adjust the seat height kind - a lay you out on a massage table to determine your ranges of motion, shoot video to make sure you knees are tracking correctly, adjust your pedals with shims and your shoes with wedges to make sure you fit your bike perfectly. I'm told they are the only place in the state that does it. (Or at least this side of the mountains....) Brought in my old, old Cannondale and ended up replacing it with a nice new, perfectly fitted Specialized carbon bike sized for women, new shoes, and new pedals. Also a detailed report, measurements, and a DVD of the video shot. Fred spent about 2.5 hours fitting me to my bike and it was worth every penny. Love my new bike and I can ride twice as far with half the effort (so it seems). The shop is what I think of as a good old fashioned bike shop. Bikes and tools everywhere, lots of room, comfy chairs to sit it (riders drifted in and out with their bikes for a visit the entire time I was there). Fred and the staff are great, and certainly happy to cater to middle aged recreational riders like me. I think this will become my local shop, even though its a hour and a half drive to get there. read more
