We were extremely happy with Ruben's work installing a new range-hood and replacing a few light switches. When I initially called Ruben, he was either on vacation, or just leaving for one, which I didn't realize until I made a follow-up call (at which point his voice-mail message had been updated). The job proved to be more complicated and time consuming (three hours) than we'd hoped, as the vent-hole had to be enlarged, but Ruben still only charged us $175, which I thought was a fair price. The work include interior paining, vanity lighting fixtures (oh yes, he removed that ugly old fluorescent lighting!), new toilets, crown moldings, new doors, resurfaced our vintage staircase, and some misc works. I called this company yesterday to explain that I wanted two interior door frames built and was told he would call me back. I received a call back tonight with an estimate over 3 times what I have been quoted from others. Not only was the estimate outrageously high but the contractor never came out to visually inspect the work needed before giving me an estimate. I can't believe it took me so long to write this review!! Ruben was amazing! We called him on a Sunday, thinking we would get a quote, he not only gave us an amazing quote (MUCH less than any of the other 4 or 5 that I had received), but he came out that day and fixed our leaky and backed up bathroom sink. He quoted us an hour of work based on what we had told him, he ended up staying 2 hours, and charging us a whopping 20 bucks for the extra time. Turns out our sink problem was a combination of leaky fittings AND a huge blockage in one of our main pipes. That blockage had been causing plumbing problems for us for years, and over a thousand dollars and 4 years later none of the other plumbers were able to find it and remedy the problem. He was under the house, in crawl spaces, snaking out pipes, on top of fixing the leaky sink in the bathroom. He was amazing, clean, efficient, friendly, and the price was amazing!! Reading other reviews I've learned that he is great at construction as well. Will I ever call anyone else to deal with any problems around the house? Never! Ruben is the only person I will call, from now on, and he's the only person YOU should call as well! read more

he did a decent job replacing light fixtures. the only thing is he quoted $150 for the job and I ended up being charged for $250. Asked him to replace some plumbing fixtures in my bath, he hesitated. Said it is best to get a plumber. Not an unusually request, just replace fixtures in the shower and tub. To say he can handle any job big and small is an exaggeration. read more

He built the closet over the existing hardwood floors without ruining my floors. The dry wall and sheet rock that he did was pretty nice. He tried to match my existing home as much as possible. He was early arriving on most days and on the other days he arrived on time. He did everything to my specifications. My only complaint is that my emails wouldn't always get to him because they went to his spam folder, but that was easily solved with a follow up phone call. His pricing is also very competitive. Ruben was very nice and did a great job redoing our entire bathroom. It's a half bath in which he gutted the bathroom and just left the walls. He help us patch, paint, tile our floors and replace all the items (vanity, sink, medicine cabinet, fan, light fixture, bathroom accessories and toilet) in the bathroom.
