    homemade ice cream
    Cindy L.

Before I get into it, I know there are good gluten free desserts out there. I didn't even get the gluten free options (as far as I know) and it still tasted off. The croissant was not good, it was not buttery and flaky and was rather bready and dense. The apple turnover lacked the same flakiness and flavor. The ice cream was a fine regular plain ol vanilla but it wasn't good enough to go out of my way for. And I wanted to get some soup to take for my lunch too but it was over $20 for what looked like a quart (?) and I didn't want that much and definitely didn't want to pay that much for it when I didn't know if I was even going to like it. I was so disappointed because everything looked so good but the flavors and textures (and prices) just were not there.

    Avocado toast

Great brunch here, as well as cookies and key lime pie to go! Had the avocado toast on fresh sourdough, and my friend had a warm mushroom salad and mushroom frittata. We got an iced coffee and iced matcha latte as well. Took a bunch of gluten-free goodies to go, and those seem to be kept carefully separated from the other baked goods. Would definitely return!

Red Barn Apple Pie....BEST IVE EVER HAD

Randell is still as good as ever - I left a 5 Star on Google, but felt the need to extol her best yet - Blueberry Turnovers - though it's more like a mini pie and maybe the best blueberry baked item I've ever had

Goat cheese quiche at Pleasantville Farmer market

Great bakery. They're at the Pleasantville farmers market too. Their apple pie roll ups are really good. The goat cheese quiche was good even when it wasn't heated. Everything is organic.

This is a gem of a place. They have so many freshly baked/made organic treats, bites, baked goods, soups, etc. the place is small and quaint but, all the food & drinks have LOTS OF FLAVOR. I would absolutely recommend this spot and will be back.

Small bakery in Irvington that serves cakes, pastries, muffins, breakfast/brunch, as well as coffee and smoothies. I had their breakfast scramble with eggs, cheddar, spinach, tomatoes, breakfast potatoes, with strawberries on the side. I also had a smoothie. The scramble was hot and melded well, with good flavor. The smoothie was a bright pick-me-up. I didn't have any pastries or cakes, but they all looked great! All types--key lime pie, pumpkin seed muffins, savory pastries, gluten free pastries, pies. Service was fast. I took my items to go, but there is indoor and outdoor seating. Right next to the train station if you want to grab something quickly before hopping the train to the city.

    Linzer tart

Stopped in for tea and goodies to go. The linzer tart was amazing and they have a great selection of teas. A vast array of gluten-free and vegan options will make it a perfect cafe spot for anyone. There is indoor seating. Service at the counter was friendly.

This is a cute place with variety of baked goods. However, $14 for a mini quiche is too steep! Sorry!

In fairness to them, English speaking bakeries do it too but in English. The staff speak some English making it a bit difficult to find out what it is or if you have allergies whether or not to avoid it. The staff is friendly. The prices are standard bakery prices. I had the conejo and Berlin crema which are the exact same thing but different presentation. I had the erizo which you need a fork to eat. I did not know that and it is like trying to eat chocolate cake with your hands (if you did not get the fork). The most memorable part was a male staffer that really did not want to work and wanted everyone to know it. He spent his time kissing his girlfriend, talking to her, and letting her touch his chest. I know he worked there because he went behind the counter when they were done but she stayed to talk to him over the counter.

They have fresh pastries, sandwiches, and the best/strongest coffee I've ever had! There are a few tables here, so you could sit inside. Or, you can grab your food/drinks to go. The staff was very friendly and nice here. I am so glad I found this place. I can't wait to stop in again soon.
