This place has my new fav cookie. Triple chocolate cookie. I can't tell you how good these are. No pic because well it was that good. I also tried the lemon raspberry muffin which was super delicious and big. My sis tried the ham and cheese croissant and said it was really yummy. Cute little place in Chaska, plenty of parking, lots of seating. Would definitely go back!

Loooove red bench! It's a staple in the community. I love going here during the day & sitting on the patio. The only piece of advice id give is I would love more ice in the coffee, but the chai is amazing! They also have my ALL TIME favorite cookie, oatmeal with caramel & sea salt- it is AMAZING!! I will cut it into pieces so I can have it over a few days to make it last, I NEED this recipe.

Great French pastries an inviting, vintage building. Service us friendly and quick. Plenty of seating indoor and out. Very popular place, quite busy at least before noon.

I am a Chaska local and my husband and I love Red Bench Bakery. We like to take walks downtown Chaska and this is one of our frequent stops. You walk in and it has such a cozy ambiance. There is a fireplace for the colder months and both chair and bench seating. The staff has always been incredibly kind and will help me choose with suggestions if I cannot decide. They do get busy in waves. The line will be out the door but they move pretty quickly and it's only a matter of time before the line is gone again. I have preordered cinnamon rolls for Thanksgiving and I have also stopped in for a breakfast treat. You can't beat their blueberry muffins anywhere else. This is a great spot for young families. They have children's seats as well. A birdie once told me the owner had studied in Italy for 10 years and makes great pizza that you have to preorder on a Thursday and pick up that weekend. Watch for the presale on their Instagram @redbenchbakery and order asap they go fast. We did this and they did not disappoint. We thought the pizza was great. This is one of our staple Chaska breakfast spots we will be back.

It doesn't look like much when you drive past because the windows are deeply tinted and it's in a beautiful historic building in downtown Chaska. But behind those solid wood doors is pure hometown bless. Went to check out their delicious bakery that is all the rave and ordered a chocolate croissant, almond croissant black coffee and a latte. The croissants were flaky and flavorful! The latte boasted rich creamy espresso flavor and the coffee was also perfectly brewed. This is absolutely worth the drive to Chaska. And will easily become a Sunday ritual.

To my surprise, they have lunch options! Fresh sandwiches on obviously, homemade bread. Tried the turkey with pesto aioli spread, arugula, tomato and mozzarella. Very tasty.

I had an awesome breakfast burrito and their awesome Tirimasu Latte (iced), and they have other offerings that will lure me from St Paul for future visits. Specifically, now that I am mourning the loss of Sun Street Breads and its Thursday Night Pizza Night, I'll have to try Smith's version of that. But I'll probably come back for brunch on a weekend pretty soon and get more coffee, as well as something from their bakery. But also, yes, brunch; the eggs in my burrito were really perfect. I was there at around noon on a Sunday; peak busy times so parking was a little hairy but I eventually found a spot. I absolutely recommend coming with a bunch of pals and hanging out for a good long time, but maybe don't all drive separately if it's noon-ish on a weekend. They have a lovely patio area which was well-populated, even on this extra-sunny mid-February day. If you like adorable cafes, you will definitely love this place.

I immediately started looking at coffee shops that I could relocate to in order to work. I had been wanting to go try Smiths for a while but the opportunity just never presented itself despite being just down the road. I arrived and the driveway leading to the parking lot was lined with cars, but I was able to find a spot in the parking lot after a minute or so. It was definitely a full lot for sure. The location is absolutely adorable as this is a historic house. It was once a Dunn Brothers, but I do love that it is its own thing now rather than a chain. They had a outdoor patio that people were enjoying but it was a bit chilly for working and sitting outside, one person even had a dog which I LOVE! Inside the front door you are greeted with a welcoming counter that you can order. I opted to try the salted caramel iced latte. If you are consuming there (which I was) they give you a number to bring to your table and they bring the drink. I really liked this idea especially in the aspect of not having to stand and wait for a drink. The price was a bit high (7.55 for a 16 oz with $1 tip), but then again everything is getting expensive these days. I walked back to the seating area and there are essentially 3 rooms downstairs, I walked through all 3 to see where working would be ideal. I went upstairs but there was a woman in the room so I assumed it was a group that was meeting or something so I opted to not investigate further. I found seating downstairs in what felt like the quietest part, but there were a lot of people there talking and the acoustics were not exactly fantastic. I did have a call which I took via teams and air pods and discovered the sound in the room was actually really not awesome for a meeting as it was quite loud and the wifi was not strong enough to support the video on the teams call. So would I recommend working from Smith, not if you have a meeting, but if you are looking for a place that has some background noise, I guess... However this is certainly a place that is perfect for meeting someone and enjoying breakfast or coffee and I love that. I did not order food this time, but everything I saw get delivered looked delicious. I also noticed they have a pizza night on Thursday nights and immediately made a note of that for a date night with the hubby.

The only confusing part was the ordering process. I ordered a glass of wine and wasn't told I needed to pick it up from the bar, so I expected it to come out with the food. I understand the concept, but it wasn't very clear when walking in--where to order, how food is delivered, and that drinks are picked up separately. The staff also weren't very engaging, either at the counter, when delivering food, or at the bar. A more welcoming experience might have encouraged us to order additional drinks. That said, it's a really cute spot, and I'd definitely give it another try next time I'm in town.
