I just decided to try Redbird pizza today because I've heard good things about it. I will tell you it's kind of hard to find tucked between a few buildings but when you get there, you will know it. I walked into a very clean building with a friendly staff. The lady at the counter took my order then I got my soda and took a seat. It wasn't long before my food came out and it looked very delicious, plus I like the crispy crust on the edges. At first bite, I realize the thinness of the crust which I like. As for the sauce, it must have been a very thin layer because I couldn't really taste it. The sausage has very little spice to it to resemble an Italian sausage. This was disappointing, as was the lack of sauce. Overall, the pizza was good, but I don't think it will make my top 10. read more

I saw something on Dayton foodie site about the carm pizza and that looked worth a try. We also go The Toussaint Tomato sauce, the mozzarellas, blue oyster mushrooms, shallot & parm. We ordered 2 pizzas and 3 pops it was like 65 dollars. I thought that seemed expensive. When they finally brought them out they were both gigantic. They didnt ask size. I wanted to get 2 different so we could try and have back up in case the carm wasn't great. Seemed like long wait for the pizza but staff were very friendly. I the one I came to try we all agreed we wouldn't get again but the other was ok. We got the last table so not much seating and wouldn't have wanted to try the tall seat with my 5 ft 92 yr old mom. Bottom line is double we will come back. We have places we like more that are closer. If you do go I'd avoid the carm pizza. read more

We grabbed a piping hot, large pepperoni and mushroom pizza to go on a Friday night. The pizza was high-quality and a reasonable price. One big pro in my opinion was that they use local mushrooms, they were delicious. The only criticism I have is that the sauce was a little sweet for my liking, and that I usually prefer more of a breadstick type crust. But, this is just a personal opinion of mine. Wow what an incredible place! Wife n I went for lunch and it was amazing! The cookies just came out so they were our appetizer! We're adults so why not! What an incredible cookie!! The white pizza we thought would be bland but was exploding with flavor! We both didn't expect to like it so much. The vodka roni was incredible! Perfect spice to pepperoni to ricotta balance! I think they forgot the basil on it but was still amazing! How I found out about this place is a funny story. I went to st Francis apizza in Cincinnati and the owner there recommended red bird to us. We love their pizza so we had to make the drive to where they recommended and boy were we glad we did! The crust in our opinion was the star of the show here. The toppings were amazing sauce too. This was the first time we visited. Went about 7 pm on Saturday night. No other customers were there. They were out of a few ingredients, sausage being one of them. They get it fresh and had run out. We ordered two pizzas. They can modify any pizza on the menu. They didn't appear to have an extensive list of ingredients. They only sell pizza. No appetizers. No salads. But the pizza was great. Crust was perfectly based. They have a liquor license and are getting a beer license in the next few months. The front of the restaurant is all windows and faces the west. They need to invest in some blinds to pull down in late evening. read more

Red Bird Pizza is the new kid on the block. We ordered ahead of time online, then ate it inside when we arrived. They offer 10" and 16" pizzas. The 10" prices are around $10-11 and the 16" are between $20-26 depending on toppings. We decided to go with three different 10" pizzas so we could try a variety of pies. We went with pepperoni, the carm, and sausage and peppers. The crust is New York style. My favorite was the sausage and peppers. I enjoyed the red sauce and thought it had a nice sweetness to it. I wasn't a huge fan of the carm -- a bit bland IMO, perhaps adding some sausage to it would have been a good idea. I wish they had a way to order the pizzas "well done" as I like the crust more on the crunchy side. That said, my wife thoroughly enjoyed all three pizzas. read more

Friends said, "the best pizza ever!" I love pizza. Spent my career traveling and have eaten pizza all over the world. Including Chicago, New York and a thousand other places. So took my wife there the same day. Everything looked good. Ordered large pizza. Took a while, but that's ok, if pizza is hand made and delicious. We sat down and server brought pizza to table. Immediately it was obvious that much of the perimeter crust was WAY over baked. Not just golden brown or dark but large areas were BLACK, as in charcoal/ carbon BLACK. Should have immediately rejected the pizza but for unknown reasons decided to not make a fuss. Couldn't believe the server sat this down with out saying something! Maybe just, "Sorry, it's a bit over cooked." Or "Eat the middle, and we will discount the price." But nothing. So we ate around the charred areas. As we were leaving, I asked the young lady at the counter, if it is normal to have a burnt crust? She smiled and said, "yes, we cook them very well. You can request that we don't cook it fully." I just shook my head. Quite a shame as I was so excited to have a really good pizza location close by. read more

This is a great pizza near downtown Miamisburg. I ordered online pretty easily for takeout. They have a pretty simple menu. I was hoping for some extras like subs or salads, but maybe they will add to their menu down the road. When I went down to the restaurant I was greeted warmly by the two workers behind the counter. There's a good amount of seating inside if you want to eat in. I waited comfortably in some cool stadium seats by the register. The pizza was delicious, especially the crust. I was anticipating to get a pizza after reading all the great reviews. I ordered a deluxe and was told the closest thing is the "sausage and pepper". It was very tasty fresh. But, getting something to drink was a bit of a hustle. No beer, but could serve a "cocktail". However, the bartender is the manager and he is "busy" making pizza. Never did get a drink. Also, be careful about where you park because there was patrolman in his vehicle "waiting" for something, possibly illegal parking since the pizza shop is across from the police station.
