What a gem in Waynesboro, Ohio! Bentino's is a charming little mom-and-pop pizza shop that truly impressed us. It was super busy when we arrived, so we had to wait a bit before snagging a table, but it was absolutely worth it. The service was impeccable--our server was incredibly friendly, kind, and accommodating. The food came out fresh, hot, and so flavorful. Everything was delicious! We started with chicken wings, then enjoyed chicken tenders and a Hawaiian pizza. One of our friends ordered the bacon pizza and practically gobbled it up--it was that good. While the ambiance and service were great, I'm sad to say that the food was more on the mediocre side. We started with an order of garlic knots with marinara sauce. While the knots were decent enough, the marinara sauce was not, as it had a slight metallic taste. My husband had a salad (which was cold and crisp) and a deluxe pizza with jalapeños on it. While he did like the flavor of the pizza, the crust was soggy and not worth the price. My daughter tried the small Greek pizza and said it was very flavorful but the crust was also soggy in the middle. My son and I both ordered small pizzas as well, and while the flavor was good, the center was just too soft. Overall, the quaint atmosphere and exceptional service just aren't enough to make up for the food that is overly priced and only so-so. read more

I love Bentino's. We just finished eating pizza from there. It is my go to. They're very quick. They'll say a while until delivery, but they're usually there in half of the time. Mom and I ate here the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) so it was fairly busy. There is a very small eating area and it was taken up by a large group of women and children. There appeared to be only one employee in the place at the time - maybe the owner. You order your food at the service counter then it's delivered to your table. The beverages are self-serve fountain drinks also. It appeared we got there just after the large group so our food took some time. Mom and I shared a large calzone stuffed with pepperoni, sausage, and ham. I really enjoyed the sausage because it had a kick of spice. I just received my 8'' deluxe pizza for carry out and could not be more disappointed. It was stuffed inside a styrofoam box to steam on the way home instead of a cardboard box like a normal pizza so that's a great start. The steamed pizza was also mostly crust too so that's was pleasant. Glad it was only 13.95 for a crappy personal pizza of disappointment. O read more

My wife and I were looking for late lunch in Waynesville, on Friday April 11, 2024. We stopped in to Bentino's pretty much at random from the many good restaurants there. We ordered the medium Deluxe. At $22.99 it was a bit pricy but not when you consider all the good things included. You can also "build your own" for less unless you get way too many toppings. The pizza came out quickly and it was MAGNIFICENT. Generous toppings and a sauce with just enough "heat" to tickle the roof or your mouth without burning. The crust was soft and excellent. We have been "together" for 55 years and we almost NEVER finish a whole pie but we did this one! Can't emphasize enough how much we enjoyed Bentino's. Lucky choice we made!! read more

I got breadsticks and Hawaiian pizza. The breadsticks were hard and didn't have flavor, and the marinara was served cold. The pizza was pretty bad. Not too mention the worker disappeared for awhile when we were ready to pay and leave. I can see why we were the only ones there. read more

Wow, I know Waynesville is off the beaten path for most, but it's a great, historical area with a host of brilliant antique shops, specialty shops and a brilliant za joint called Bentino's... Huge props to this place..!! I've been 4 times in the past year and a half because it's only a hop, skip and a jump from Camp Swoneky in Oregonia, a place that I frequent as often as I can... Every time I've been, the service has been outstanding and the za... Just brilliant... I wish this place was everywhere, but that's why it's so freakin' good... A nice family owned pizza place. The smell of freshly made pizza lured us in. We had the deluxe medium. It was nicely cooked with chopped onions , peppers , mushrooms, pepperoni and sausage. The crust was fluffy and thick , more than hand tossed but not deep dish. We asked for sauce to dip it and the waitress brought us garlic butter. ..that was the ticket! This is a place that I would love to hate. If the food was't so good, I would never return. The pizza is something so different than many other pizza joints and leaves you craving more. For many in the area, Marion's and Cassano's, are pizza that are really missed when moving out of the area. They have such a different taste and provides an experience like no other. This is the way I feel about Bentino's Pizza in Waynesville. It's pizza crust has a unique garlic flavor and the ingratiates are always fresh and delicious. They also offer baked pasta dishes, which I believe are always overcooked and don't even compare to the pizza. The pizza joint is clean and quiet. It's a comfortable joint and has a television that is usually on a news station but the staff is always willing to turn the channel if you'd like. But, if you are looking for friendly owners, then turn away and look for something else. It's owned by father and son, who are both very unfriendly, grumpy and very demanding of their employees. I've actually been there when one of them were cussing out an employee, which was only a teenager over something that was really just a minor thing. It's just not the right way to treat people. The employees always look very unhappy, on edge, but they try really hard to mask their fear. Is that anyway to experience a job when you are young? If you can ignore the behavior of the owners, enjoying a pizza there is something that won't rock your world, but it will leave you wanting more. This is a great local pizza joint with great flavor. We've been patronizing Bentino's since they opened over 15 years ago -- it's always been an extremely clean place with high standards. Ingredients are fresh and food isn't overly processed. The owner and his family are involved in the daily operation and it shows (and contrary to other reviewers' experiences, I've never received grumpy or poor service). Calzones, pastas, and subs are great, and their pizza is outstanding. The pizza has great fluffy crust and delicious sauce. Always fresh, great service, and fast delivery if you don't want to leave the house. If you are looking to try something different, their four cheese pizzas and white pizzas are a nice departure from the traditional pizza fare. My takeout pizza box was a black styrofoam partitioned dinner takeout box (WTF?), which trapped all the moisture, so my pizza was dripping wet. Doesn't that kind of say it all? It's a PIZZA JOINT. Owner was unfriendly and grumpy (as numerous others have noted, interestingly), with nary a smile nor a word, although he gave me a couple hard stares (WTF? x 2). Food is good, have been here before so we came back. I was very disappointed that the hours aren't actually what they claim. Website says they are open til 10pm, but that's only for carry-out. Not sure what time they close the dining room, as the hours just say 11am - 10pm. I went out of my way to come here, and they weren't even open. The open sign wasn't even on at 9pm.
