Our family ate here over the weekend, on a Saturday afternoon. They have lunch specials on Saturday which is a nice surprise given many restaurants usually only do it for weekdays. The lunch special ends at 3 pm. I got the chicken with string beans. It has a kick to it, and the chicken was not what I would normally expect when you order it at a chinese take out spot, but it was good nonetheless. Bring a jacket. It's chilly in here, especially if you have little ones.

Insanely over-priced. House Salad is $6.50.....it consists of a handful iceberg lettuce, 2 slivers of red cabbage, a 1/2" pice if tomato and 2 small cucumber slices.

Everyone needs to read this review and then go straight to Red Bowl. I ordered off Postmates three times now and all I can say is.. wow. The food has a really authentic taste and I have yet to be disappointed by anything I've ordered thus far. Sushi - all of the sushi I've had was SUPER fresh. You can tell this is good sushi grade vs the cold bland sushi you sometimes get from restaurants UNAGI Don - wow, the eel over rice was soo good. Huge pieces and also fresh Beef Chow Fun - has the smoky wok(hay) flavor that only authentic joints can really fill out this type of dish. Steak hibachi - the steak was cooked perfectly and what makes this more impressive is it was a delivery order! Crab Rangoon - delicious Mango sticky rice - my wife loves it. Ordered it twice back to back Hot n sour soup - it's been hard to find a legit one in the area without tasting too thin or mild. This is the new go to place for this! I could go on but check it out for yourself. Everything is packed with flavor and the price is not bad even for dinner. GO NOW TO RED BOWL.

cute little spot! relaxing space &nice smoooth music. I got a kani salad added some mango and it was very good. I had the Love roll, it was also really good! the soy bean paper had a little crunch to it, I enjoyed it. I took some stuff to go.. the udon noodles with chicken, spicy wontons, sticky rice with mango and fried dumplings all very good! the waitress was extremely friendly and tentative! will definitely be back !

Discovered Red Bowl on Uber Eats and decided to get some takeout for dinner tonight. All in all everything was pretty good and we would order from here again. What we ordered: 1. Unagi Don - the unagi was tasty and portion size was good. 2. Chirashi - fish was fresh and there was a good variety. My only suggestion would be to replace the imitation crab with either the sweet egg or another type of fish. 3. Wontons w/ Hot Sesame Sauce - tasty and flavorful. It brought the heat! 4. Crispy Spicy Chicken - chicken was tender and the spicy sauce was delicious. 5. Drunken noodles - good flavor and heat. Noodles were not soggy and had good texture.

For a while, Red Bowl was pretty insistent upon using their website to place any orders rather than calling. If I ordered for myself, I would simply make a note requesting that they use gluten-free noodles for my dishes. This was completely ignored and regular noodles were used in my dish instead. I did not realize this was an issue until the next time I ordered and they gave long, stringy noodles in the container. When my boyfriend asked them why they were different, they insisted that they were actually the gluten-free noodles that are always used. It's nice knowing they do not take any food sensitivities into consideration. I would definitely not recommend Red Bowl if you have any special requests or sensitivities.

Love this place. They were my goto during COVID lockdown. I so missed eating in. Their crispy entrees including general tsao, crispy chicken, crispy beef, orange chicken and beef are eat in entrees. Great service. Consistently good and their sushi and sashimi!... yum

this place is great, very friendly staff and the food is yummy. They have a bit of everything which is cool however i think it would be better if they stuck to one thing. Example, they have awesome sushi! the hibachi is ok but hibachi is all about the experience and since they dont cook in front of you like your typical hibachi place it takes away from it and its just not the same. the ramen is just of but i am sort of a snob when it comes to ramen because my husband and i LOVE ani ramen in Montclair. read more

I love red bowl! I come here at least once a week! I've tried a few dishes now and one is better then the next. I love the cury noodle seafood soup and their spicy crispy beef. Such a nice place with the friendliest staff. Haven't had a bad meal yet. I love it here! read more

This is probably my favorite Chinese/Japanese restaurant around! I usually take out from Red Bowl but I recently went there and dinned in. The atmosphere was wonderful and our waiter got our food out fast! The meals were big, I barely had enough room for dessert. The sesame chicken is one of my favorites when I go there, I definitely recommend. Overall good place is to eat with family and friends! read more

The food here is pretty fantastic. Some Asian cuisine can be hit or miss, but this has been good every time I've gotten it. It is a little more expensive than the standard "Chinese takeout" you might get. But it's worth the price if you are in the mood for some good food. read more

Truly enjoyed this new place! Each person in our group ordered a different cuisine between appetizers and entrees. All of us were extremely satisfied with our food! Our server, Rene, was warm and gracious and made our dining experience that much more enjoyable. The service was excellent. Personally, I highly recommend the chicken hibachi--delicious. We cant seem to GET our food. We placed an order on line at 7:30 and the site said pick up in 30 minutes. Have been sitting outside waiting to get my (already paid for) order for an hour. There are orders ready for pick up, just no staff to hand out. read more

2.95 for that house salad. It was a joke so small. It should be free with an entree. I know how they make money. Put no meat in your dishes. Pretty pricy for no meat. Ordered red curry. They gave me green curry. I do not know if I will order take out again. read more

I ordered take out for lunch for my wife and I today. My wife ordered the 3 sushi roll special for 10.95 that came with soup (miso), I ordered the 11.95 lunch box special that also came with soup (hot & sour) and a California roll and house side salad and 2 gyoza and a choice of teriyaki or tempura or sushi. I had steak teriyaki. I paid for my order and the owner Jo Jo brought me a complimentary iced Thai Chai tea while I waited, which was delicious and was very sweet. Both my wife and I frequent asian food and loved everything that we ate. They had plenty of seating both for take out waiting and dining and a sushi bar in the back of the restaurant. I am so glad that there is an Asian restaurant so close with such great food that offers amazing value for your money. Can't wait to return to dine in. I returned 4 days later to dine in with my wife and daughter, once again Jo Jo was there to great us and make us feel welcomed. Our server was very nice and attentive. We all had a different country as my wife had scallops teriyaki from the Japanese side, my daughter had General Tsao's chicken from the Chinese side, and I had the Thai spicy basil. All were terrific. We shared the green tea fried ice cream and chocolate mousse cake which were awesome. Will definitely return. read more

I have been to the Red Bowl several times in the past and was so glad to see that they were open for pickup and delivery. I had the red curry chicken and the kids ordered chicken teriyaki and sautéed shrimp. Everything was perfect and delicious right down to the sides of miso soup and spring rolls. This is a great go to place and they made it easy to pick up. read more

Wonderful little restaurant. The massam curry was phenomenal. House duck was so crispy and juicy! And the sesame noodles were the perfect consistency and balance of sweet and salty (wish the portions were bigger though). Very happy this neighborhood place opened. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood!! My boyfriend lives near by and is already a fan. Very nice atmosphere, pleasant and professional wait staff. Enjoyed the mango chicken lunch special with shrimp tempura as an appetizer. The hot and sour soup was very good too. The portions honestly could have been bigger for the price. Will definitely be going back to try some of those special sushi rolls for dinner! read more

I was very excited to try this new place. The beef gyoza was really good. Also the hot and sour soup was good too. Was disappointed with the pad tai. It really lacked flavor and was very bland. The lo mein was also on the bland side. I hope they start packing a little more flavor in some of their dishes. I will def give them another shot. read more

Service was excellent, presentation beautiful. My wife had a spring roll and delicious general tso's chicken.l had sushi and spicy tuna roll. All were well prepared, fresh, and of high quality.I highly recommend this restaurant...a little gem. Reasonably priced too. My only suggestion would be that in the evening they illuminate there sign better so people can find it more easily. read more

Customer service was phenomenal and prompt. Renee was so great, and all the other staff were happy to check in and see if we needed anything. Steamed dumplings were perfectly filled and cooked. Some of the specialty rolls had way too much crunchy stuff on top, and the rolls looked like a whole pile of sushi vs an actual roll. The specialty rolls were too much fluff and just not so good. The standard sushi rolls were fine and decent. It was all yummy but not the best sushi we have had. They gave us salmon skin rolls on the house, which was a nice surprise! Delish! The establishment is casual and cozy. The prices were reasonable. We overall had a good experience here.

Speaking of the food, let's get into it. Mango Avocado Roll: Refreshing and Delicious. This was a great appetizer to my poke bowl. Oasis Poke Bowl: This was deliciously refreshing as well, however it doesn't come with any sauce. I asked for a side of teriyaki which made everything better; elevated the entire bowl. Surf N Turf: I will order this moving forward as my go-to roll. The beef was cooked to perfection and paired perfectly with the salmon. Salmon and Shrimp Teriyaki: My partner gets this each time and I am always so excited to throw my fork into his plate. The teriyaki sauce here is so tasty, I want to put it on everything! The music is amazing and not overbearing, the ambiance is beautiful and there's multiple conversation pieces. What I love about looking at the items in the restaurant is how they go from traditional to contemporary. The servers were the sweetest, they all were extremely hospitable. But no separate line for bagels; so it wasn't efficient. I waited in line for about 15 mins, at one point I was waiting outside on a cold day. I asked for 2 plain and 1 raisin. The guy gave me an extra plain so it was a total of 4. I also ordered a 16 oz. Coffee (their house brew) it came out to $6.25. Not bad. Ifor some reason 2 bagels had grill marks on them, I'm assuming they were placed on a rack while still hot and it left marks on it. Strange. It wasn't about the bagels for me but the coffee was really good! Rivals the well known commercial coffee houses. The bagels were on the sweet side; they were big and crusty but the sweetness turned me off. After trying out Bagel Nosh, I would only return for the coffee not the bagels. The long line is not worth it; but maybe the sandwiches are good? Maybe I'll come back and try something else. But as far as bagels, I'd go somewhere else. This is my honest review.

I'm pretty sure this spot is relatively new, so I'll wish them the best in their effort to find their groove. We ordered take-out twice and our only major issue was their struggle to get food out in a timely fashion. They said that wait times were slow since they were so busy, but when I went inside, the dining room was not even half-full. Again, it might take some time for them to become more efficient. Still, I must say that, wow, the interior of their restaurant is beautiful... classy, clean and elegant. The food was standard Pan-Asian cuisine for the area. No single culture was represented in a beautiful way, but everything was acceptable. I tried everything except their sushi, since I wouldn't have that for take-out or delivery. That just wouldn't be right. Would I go back? I'd dine-in to give them a shot at proving their sushi is better than their curries, noodles, stir-fry, and Chinese fare. read more
