This rating reflects my understanding that I'm buying Americanized Chinese food. The breaded chicken dishes (e.g., General Tso and Sesame) are exactly how they should be made, slightly crispy, good flavor to the sauce, and recognizable chicken. Their pork fried rice is surprisingly well flavored. The boneless pork ribs are tasty, but tend to be a bit dry due to the length of time they're broiled prior to service. I ordered lunch here a couple of days ago. Between the three of us, nobody was happy. The only good thing was the food came quickly. General Tso Chicken - wasn't hot (warm or spicy) Chicken and broccoli - 2 small pieces of broccoli and no flavor to the whole dish. Chicken Chow Mein - this is where their 2 stars became 1...they forgot the chow mein. That's right. They completely just left the chow mein out of the dish. That's an impressive screw up. When I'm looking for Chinese Takeout, this is where I go now. I usually call ahead and pickup, so I can't say anything about delivery. But unless they're really busy they're pretty quick. The quality of the food matches the price, which I'm all for if I don't have time to cook. And although they have some other asian-y dishes, I stick with more traditional Chinese orders here (that's just my preference). On a side note, the parking lot where they're located isn't that big, so it can fill up and becomes a bit of a jam. read more

The shrimp fried rice is so amazing! Come here regularly to order the fried rice and it tastes delicious every single time. Usually get dumplings or the wonton with the garlic sauce also and they are so savory and a great price. I order the orange chicken or General Tso's chicken for my sister and she always loves it too. But people in glen rock order fried rice and general Tao chicken 50% of time their moo shu pork was filled with meat and egg and tasty. But no woodsy mushrooms. And preface packaged pancakes. Wontons were doughy in the soup. No pork or greens. Thai food average. Shrimp egg roll very nice. Not greasy. Lettuce wraps are not ground chicken. But flavorful. Different. For takeout Chinese in this area, this is the best one within several surrounding towns. The food is consistently good (had an exception once with over cooked lo mein) and she is friendly. I just started working in Ridgewood and wanted Chinese on a rainy Monday so I looked through Yelp and found this place. I ordered a Happy Family from the Chef's specialty menu. The flavor was great. I love their pork fried rice, and when I get mixed vegetables with tofu it's cooked perfectly and also has a good assortment of vegetables in it.. To be fair, food quality for neighborhood Chinese food is OK but definitely have had better elsewhere. I visit a relative that lives nearby and it's convenient to order take-out but today was the last time I will order from here. Two reasons; 1) I ask how long and they say 10-15 minutes. I arrive in 15 minutes and food is not ready. This happened the last 3 times I picked up. They never say the food isn't ready when I arrive or how much longer it will be. Never an apology for the delay. I find it rude and a waste of time. I'll wait 25 or 30 minutes if you say that's how long it will take but don't make me wait unnecessarily. Once or twice OK but not every time. 2) the person at the counter was observed by me handling money, using the computer touch screen as well as the phone and immediately afterwards touching food with her bare hand that went into a take-out container. Very unsanitary especially since the place is not the cleanest. Cardboard is stacked next to tables, magazines, toys etc. on tables. I don't eat there and have never seen anyone eating here either but if the area where someone may sit and eat is neglected, I worry about the cleanliness in the areas of the restaurant I can't see. I stated the facts that I personally observed and experienced. Other may feel or see otherwise. It is not my intention speak badly about a small business but cleanliness is a major issue to me personally. read more

East wok is my go to. And it's not to pricy. Ribs are amazing. Eg foo young is unreal. Crab Rangoon. And every specialty they also do a spicy version. My family always orders too much and depending on what your price is they give you something free. We usually get either orange chicken or egg roles. Pork is very tasty. Delievery was 30 mins late even though I pre ordered the food 2 hours early. I had to call to find out if it was coming or not. When the food finally arrived the delievery guy berated me for a tip saying it took him a long time get here...I KNOW...Then start yelling in his native language in my workplace...won't be ordering again. read more

What happened to East Wok??? Been ordering delivery for 6 years, recently saw all the negatives reviews and ignored them. The food has gone down hill tremendously, what a shame. The general tso chicken used to be crispy nice sauce and a little spice. It is now comprised of a wet bread crumb surrounding god knows what clear imitation chicken is in there. Unedible. Chicken and broccoli, lo mein flavorless. We had a good run East Wok but unfortunately I can not put my family threw that again. I suggest you consolidate your menu, it's unnecessarily large. This use to be my go to chinese place but idk what happen its not good any longer. The mongolian chicken was all onions with slithers of chicken which was flavorless over powered by the onions, The pork dishes same issue mass quantities of veggies little meat. Ok, so I hate to do this, but I'm changing my review. I had previously discussed in a prior review that this restuarant offers fast service and the food is delicious. This still holds true, but I've run into a snag at this restaurant that, to me, has caused me to forever ban this restaurtant from my rolledex of eateries. (BTW please forgive my spelling, it's very late and I'm typing on my damn cell phone right now...) I ordered dinner for my family, two young sons and wife. I had used there online ordering process, and confirmed the order I wished to place....well before I hit send. When the food arrived it was all off. The food was wrong, and included peanuts (my one son is just one years old and cannot eat nuts yet) and the other mushrooms (which I am allergic too and actually put "no mushrooms" in all of my previous orders notifiying them of my allergy. So the meal came, was wrong, and I called. The reply I go was horrific... ready for this? "it's not my problem".... are you kidding me people? I am so disapointed because I really liked this place. So for now it's off to somewhere else. Just know for future orderers, this place is good, cheap, but the morality of the owners is very questionable and I personaly will never order from here again. I was a first time customer and boy did they mess up my order. I found my entree turned upside down in the bag and the plain noodles had soy sauce and instead of receiving spicy mustard, I received a small wonton soup size container filled with soy sauce.
