We decided to take our order to go and drive to the Dhillion Dam Road! Highly recommend for anyone visiting, only 7-8 minute drive. Items ordered: Potato burrito with chipotle mayo: nice and hot! Easy to eat on the go. I think the chipotle mayo definitely made the burrito super tasty! The potato and the egg inside was well seasoned. Vanilla latte: well made! If I was in town for longer, this place would be my to go coffee/espresso drink location Hazelnut latte with CBD espresso: first time trying CBD espresso but tasted just like a hazelnut latte. It's been a while since I wrote my review but I stop here every time I'm in Silverthorne. This little gem is sooo much better than the big chains! (Drink local!) The staff is delightful quirky (once they were dressed as pirates!) and my husband loves the coffee. I'm a Chai girl and I appreciate the gingerly Third Street which isn't syrupy or sweet at all. One word - AMAZING! This place had the best location right on the Blue River where we got to sit and enjoy our coffee. I had the nutty professor latte which was probably the best latte I've ever had (very sweet but sooo yummy). My sister had the macadamia nut latte which was also delicious. Had a good breakfast burrito here. There was live music on a weekend morning. The performer was charming and talented, but it's good to know about the music if you go looking for a quiet place to drink your morning coffee. The coffee was not my style--I'm a picky coffee drinker. But the staff were chatty and friendly. Lots of regulars and locals, which is a good sign. This place is clearly an awesome hangout in non-covid times. Loved the local art for sale. The drinks were good and the baristas were super accommodating with special requests. I had the avocado toast and really enjoyed it. The rest of my family had various breakfast burritos and I didn't get any complaints. What a great spot! We popped in with friends on our way up to Frisco from Denver and so glad we did! The gluten free options didn't disappoint when it came to the food. Gone are the days of intimate, authentic coffee shops. I left feeling like I had a personal bond with the baristas. Oh and of course... the most important part... coffee!!!! I had a bullet proof coffee (coconut oil, grass fed butter... so good!!). My husband had a nutty professor latte... white chocolate, macadamia nut, nutmeg... a little too fluffy for me but my husband loved it. For food we had Nutella banana toast and avocado toast. I almost said no to onions on the avocado toast... they were raw red onions... but actually I think it gave the toast a nice bite. Worth it for me. This coffee shop has a couple of options for breakfast and lunch, such as, burritos (Gf option), smoothies (Gf and vegan options), and plenty of different pastries (Gf options). I got Gf pumpkin bread that was super good. They also have the standard options for coffee, with lots of alternative milk options and even have an option to add CBD. The coffee shop is also right up against the river and has seating on the river. When we were there they also had someone playing live music. This morning my friend and I had a terrible experience. Josh was the person to ring us up and he was incredibly disrespectful! My friend opened her quiche and it smelled like vinegar. I was setting across from her and could smell it. She returned it and told him and he didn't offer an alternative or to fix it, he threw it away. So she waited in line until her turn and calmly asked for it to be taken off her card and for a receipt and got a muffin instead. She asked for a muffin instead. He said "Lady Chill"! She said "Did you just ask me to chill?" She asked it a couple times why he asked her to chill and he didn't say anything. He rudely gave her the receipt and we left. I get it, sometimes we have bad days or it is unbearably busy (I am in the food/service industry too so I am speaking from experience on both sides) But under NO circumstances should he have talked to her like that especially when she was speaking calmly to him the whole time! He needs to be talked to about what is appropriate and not appropriate when talking to customers and how to deal with his frustrations. I have been in the food industry and i am really understanding and even I am still appalled by his behavior. read more

Had an unpleasant experience here the last time I went. Wouldn't recommend. The burrito I ordered was gross; the tortilla seemed old, the avocado wasn't good. Red Buffalo is cozy on the inside, bordering on "rustic" if you know what I mean, with a mix of different seating options (cafe tables, rocking chairs, long community tables, etc). There was definitely not enough seating for the number of people inside, but I guess that's a good indication that it's a local hot spot! They also tout a patio, which was why I chose Red Buffalo, but it's just a couple of tables on the sidewalk in the middle of strip mall, so I decided to venture inside. They have a variety of food options like burritos, bagels, and açaí bowls. The burritos seem especially popular. The almond milk latte I ordered was pretty bitter, but the main reason for three stars is that it took nearly 15 minutes to get my coffee, after waiting ~8 minutes in line. After a long curvy and stormy drive back towards Denver my husband and myself decided we deserved (needed) a coffee to continue the second half of our journey. We pulled into this place since it was on the way and located so close to i70. I ordered at hazelnut latte, and my husband a mocha. We got them to go since we were determined to get back on the road, but found ourselves lingering a little longer. The store was cozy on this moody mountain afternoon and we decided to sip our coffee in the rocking chairs while admiring some local photography art for sale. I was sad that I ordered my latte to-go after realizing how deliciously thick and frothy the milk was on top. Still just as tasty nonetheless. The flavor wasn't overwhelming or too sugary like most coffee shops. We parked in the front on the building with no problem, but realized that the river was located right in the back of the shop. It's accessible through the shop itself. And WOW what a view. We decided to take our to-go lattes outdoors and watch the highly experienced fishermen cast their lines while the gentle storm rolled overhead. There were multiple bridges around to explore. I love to stop at Red Buffalo for a coffee of choice whenever I'm in town visiting. The employees have always greeted me with a warm smile and hello, but on some recent visits, there was a girl with a septal nose piercing who barely smiled, was cold, and didn't acknowledge me with a "you're welcome" when I told her thank you. Instead, she ignored me and turned around and walked off with a scowl on her face on multiple occasions. I can understand one time if you're having a bad day, but after every visit? Maybe it's my face she doesn't like. Even so, she should at least be polite, otherwise she's going to run off loyal customers. I like to give great tips, but when she stares at the iPad as I'm entering the tip and then acts the way she acts, it makes me not want to leave a tip at all. I have to remind myself the barista deserves a tip, so I end up tipping anyway. If you want to come for the delicious coffee, ambiance, and otherwise wonderful staff, come here. You won't be disappointed. I would leave 5 stars, but I dropped it to 3 because of the poor customer service from one person. read more

The espresso is a 50/50 blend of medium and dark roast that has some surprising high notes at first sip, but flows into a smooth dark finish which is really enjoyable!
