Manager must be a tyrant to believe she can control the personal viewpoints of employees, and she must be an idiot for conducting such an angry exchange in front of customers. It 1.) First of all, 5 stars on customer service! From the host to the server to the food runner and a manager asked us how our food was as well. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was juicy and flavorful with a nice sear on the meat. The bun was buttered, grilled and delicious. The sweet potato fries and the seasoned aioli that came with them was delicious as well. I tried one Scotch Egg, it was pretty good, maybe they should make their own mustard to serve with instead of just plain, yellow mustard. The bad part ? Finally made it here, and so glad I did! We chose the Red Cow for our lunch date - the first time I've had any appreciable time with my husband in 3 weeks. Service, excellent. Thanks Alex! I love Red Cow! This is my second visit to this location. The service is outstanding. Today we had the 60/40 burger and the Impossible burger and split them so we could try both. Both were excellent. The Impossible Burger is a unique vegan burger that mimics hamburger to some degree. The texture, bite, it really close. The way it is prepared makes it great. It has a good char flavor and is paired with a garlic aioli and onions which both compliment the flavor. Vegans might not appreciate it since it strives to be like hamburger but anyone who likes onion and garlic with a burger will probably like it. The 60/40 burger is juicier, with more fat than the Impossible burger, and bacon makes everything good so this burger was also really good. read more

This place is amazing! Their Scottish Eggs were a real delight along with the fresh fruit I ordered due to my horrid hangover I was trying to overcome! On a different note, I must say their bathroom was pretty nice. The toilet paper were as soft as an Angels touch. It was fantastic! The best part was probably their sink. We came here with a big group. My only complaint so far is they don't take reservations for parties of 6 or more. They did get us seated in a reasonable amount of time. For share-ables we got the Ahi Crisps, amazing with the ponzu so good. the Wisconsin Cheese Curds, were cheese curds, and the Caramel-Bacon Puffcorn I had a love hate relationship with those. It's hard to describe its not like sweet and salty is a new thing. They were some how both yummy and icky. Our burgers were all great. I had the Barcelona salty , smokey cooked perfectly. Not too many complaints except for the obvious, this place is tiny! I guess its all about perspective, I think this place is tiny for what it tries to accomplish. They don't take reservations, first come first served. They take your cell number and text you when your table is ready. This is probably a good idea since the waiting area consists of waiting against the wall by the entrance door (the bar counter is almost always packed). The beer selection is good. The cocktails are well made, and they have copper cups for your Moscow Mules. The burgers are excellent, but beware, the food is definitely heavy. I've never finished more than half a meal here, lots of left overs. Service can be a bit slow when they are slammed, but not exceedingly so. read more

I was here on a business trip and was told that I had to try a burger with peanut butter (which i thought i would never do!). I decided to come to the red cow and try the breakfast burger and was blown away with how delicious it tasted. The peanut butter is subtle but it works! The truffle fries was a first time for me too and now I love them! I get them whenever I can. The only problem about this place is that it is pretty small and doesn't take reservations. The fries are some of the best I've had in a while - perfectly seasoned, hot, and crispy. Thr house ketchup is great too, but you won't need it. The cheese curds were good: not too greasy and lightly breaded. They're served with a nice berry sauce. The only thing I'd change would be to cut back on the frosting on the carrot cake. Its a one of a kind gourmet burger joint. Bison burger with the figs and goat cheese had big time flavor. Subtle sweetness but still delightful with the tang of the goat cheese. Meat was cooked to perfection. Truffle fries was a treat. Sesame ginger wings was another noteworthy appetizer. Turkey Burger was very good too. Overall great ambience, pleasant & quick service. A bit pricey. But the quality of food is worth the price. They are open late and it's a new great addition to the room restaurant scene in St.Paul. A must try for burger lovers. My husband and I just enjoyed some truly delicious burgers here. I had the 60/40 and he had the bison - we tasted each others' and they were both amazing. We also had the cheese curds which had the exact right amount of breading and were served with a tangy tomato jam that complimented them perfectly. We visited the St. Paul restaurant yesterday, dined-in and appreciated the socially distanced seating inside. and I can't stop thinking about when I can get back for the Nashville Hot Chicken Sticks and the Brownie Caramel Shakee Shake again. That's not to minimize how incredibly fresh, juicy and delicious my Double Barrel Burger was with the grill-toasted buttery bun. Ahhh, I'm drooling just reliving it. Had a great time at Red Cow with a large group on Friday night. There can be a bit of a wait though. They don't accept reservations, but I'd recommend using the Yelp waitlist feature. It worked pretty well. We got there before the rest of the group and waited approx 30 mins. I love that they have a server dedicated to taking drink orders from people waiting for a table. It made the wait easier and showed that they still are paying attention to you even though you aren't seated yet! We were seated relatively soon after our whole party arrived and our server promptly arrived to take drink orders. I was impressed by the specialty cocktail list and had a tough time picking a drink! I settled on Saturn which came in a whimsical Tiki-style cup and was delicious. We had the cheese curds to start. They were on the more expensive side but very tasty. I had the Tennessee chicken sandwich. It was fantastic. Definitely on the spicier side, so if you have any doubts I'd go with the "Minnesota Nice" version. I love the wise array of options for sides. I chose the fruit, which was a lovely selection of berries. I think the coleslaw would have been a good choice too. All in all, Red Cow was a great place to grab a delicious meal on a Friday! We ordered salads: Calabrian Steak Caesar and the Blue Cheese and Spinach. They were delicious but left wanting more. My partner found the pickled tomatoes in the Blue Cheese & Spinach salad to be an odd pairing but he was scraping his plate at the end so... Drinks - we each had the Red Cow Ginger Beer (non-alcoholic). It has quite a bite to it - much more so than Reed's Extra Ginger Brew. It was not our favorite but it did the job in settling our stomachs for the flight home. Also ordered the Mos-Cow Mule (pink peppercorn infused vodka, house ginger beer) and found it to be bitter- as if they had made it with gin instead of the advertised vodka. If we come this way again, we'd love to try their beers and entrees, looked promising! Space was loud and felt a little cramped - looks like a good place to come after work.
