Upsides: Lots of flavors (the tart ones are best..along with cake batter), lots of good toppings, friendly (for the most part) staff, and lots of seats. Downsides: 38 cents per ounce!? Filling up my cup up 3/4 of the way with a few toppings usually comes out to $5 or $6. I could have walked across the street to Johnny's and had 3 fish tacos for that much. Man, I came here specifically because this used to be in my opinion, the best frozen yogurt in this area. I can't even describe what a let down it was today. They have about Half of the flavors ice cream and the other half yogurt now and they were all terrible. My favorite was the cake batter and that didn't even taste right. The employee working didn't even know if it was yogurt or ice cream. If I hadn't come from Vista specifically for this then I would've passed on it. I've never been to an ice cream/froyo shop that charges you by the ounce. I think it's amazing! After a great dinner at Harney Sushi, we wandered over to Red Cup to top off the night with a frozen treat. I bought myself, my best friend and his four year old son's dessert and only paid $8 when all was said and done! I couldn't believe it. Maybe I'm used to the overpriced Mooney's ice cream here in Michigan that costs $8 per person, but I was just amazed at how reasonable the price was. And the selection of yogurt and toppings were numerous. I settled on cake batter and loved every bite of it, but I know I would have been equally as happy with anything else I could have chosen. If I lived closer, my bank account would most definitely suffer from the amount of trips I would make to this place. read more

I first visited Red Cup in downtown when they first opened. Not too memorable of an experience other than you pay by the pound and use one standard size cup filled to your preference. Kinda pricey, no lasting impression one way or the other... UNTIL last week, I have visited three times in the past week and am ecstatic oer rediscovering this unique yogurt shop in the center of downtown. Tonight I had a mixture of yogurts..I'm not big on toppings but love then blended duos they offer. Last week the feature flavor was Salted Pretzel and Caramel... TO DIE FOR. Sadly, it will not be back anytime soon. Next time I opted, after sampling every option, Pistachio Cake. That's right...Pistachio flavored yogurt blended with Classic Birthday Cake flavor. Sounds horrendous, but let me just say I went back today for more. Topped with white yogurt chips it was out of this world. Also tonight I had Green Apple paired with Dulce de Leche which was like a carmel apple and surprisingly delicious. At around $6.49/lb it is definitely on the pricey side for a family or for a child left to his own serving. But for myself, for around $4 it is plenty and more than I actually need - but so good I do want more!! read more

I love this self-serve yogurt place. Its clean and so is the restroom. Selections for toppings are plentiful. I have seen people with their laptops so wi-fi may be available. I have to check the next time I go back. There are also tables outside where we can eat our yogurt while watching trains go by which is my son's favorite activity. This is my favorite place to get me some good ole frozen yogurt. The employees are friendly and joke around with you a lot. The selection is a bit small BUT they do change up the flavors every time I have been there. The toppings are bountiful and the fruit is always fresh, I always see them cut it right there in front of me. They usually have good music playing and some x-treme sports on their plasma TV. Fun and friendly atmosphere in this place that's for sure! There is a parking garage right across the street so parking is made easy. And there are plenty of little shops to walk to so you can burn off all the calories you just ate. Or you can go to a movie. To make things worse, the manager Cynthia seemed to have a bit of a nasty attitude towards most of the customers. Why did I think this place would ever change? The yogurt is OVERPRICED!!! Filling the cup will charge you upwards of $14. I don't think they rate $. They are expensive!!! The employees are rude! The main problem is the sketchy management they don't care about customers. The blueberry muffin and peaches and cream are winners as well. Great toppings choices - Granola, cereal favorites, bananas, cheesecake, brownies...the list goes on. Their toppings are always fully stocked each time I drop in, with various options that range from fresh fruits, such as kiwi and strawberry, to bite size dessert pieces, such as brownies and cheesecake, to regular toppings, such as sprinkles and nuts, and yet even provide candies- wrapped or unwrapped as toppings as well. Finally, after you indulge yourself in your hearts desire of frozen yogurt and its respective toppings, you pay by the weight, which is actually a brilliant idea for those who overindulge as well as those who underindulge. I used to go to Yogurtland in Orange County when I lived there and there was one by my old house. This is the same concept, I'd return. I wish there were more Tart and Fruit flavors to choose from though. And maybe more fruit toppings as well. There was only mango, strawberry, blackberry, coconut (not exactly a fruit). They now have dividers for the cups which helps me basically make 2 unique ice creams - perfect for sharing or just for mixing it up. This place is great! They change the flavors pretty frequently, but they keep the classics such as chocolate and vanilla and those types. I'm currently preggo and one of my BIG cravings is just a plain chocolate froyo with cherries!! My husband will bring me here, we get our froyo and then we go for a drive down the beach with the windows down and it's just perfect!! My hubby isn't a huge fan of chocolate, he loves all the crazy sorbet type flavors like raspberry and sour apple and all that crap, but they have that, too!! The people at the check out aren't usually very friendly, but they don't really have to be since it's a self serve place haha! I definitely reccomend this place to anyone in the area!! This is by far one of my favorite places to get frozen yogurt!!! They have the best toppings here and the best array of fresh fruit. They're flavors are by far the creamiest and tastiest around. They always have exactly what I am in the mood for whether I'm craving something fruity or something sweet because they have a ton of selections. My favorite time to get their frozen yogurt is in the summer because they are in the best location right next to the pier :) I live right down the road from a different frozen yogurt shop but I would much rather go a little bit further for red cup...
