As a vegetarian, this used to be my favorite place in town. While I love the rebrand & new sushi added, I miss the old recipes for some entrees. The Khao Soi was the best thing in the world. Now, supple rice noodles are replaced by cheap ramen, the cabbage and potatoes are removed, and the broth isn't the same either. Service is wonderful but my khao soi loving heart is broken, PLEASE change some elements back if possible. I will continue to frequent for my sushi cravings but my enthusiasm for this place is crushed.

The new Red Curry is fantastic!! The sushi is incredible and exactly what we have been looking for with vegan sushi. The owners are super friendly, and it's nice having another choice when we want to go out.

    Lemongrass curry with black beans.

Easy to find. Parking easy to find. Looks like a typical Asian restaurant. Lots of little tables. It was empty, so we were told to seat ourselves. I got the Lemongrass Curry with black beans. When I saw the pile of veggies on my plate I was already in heaven. Then I tasted it and knew I was going to love it. I got it mild and it had a nice zing. Hubs got the Green Curry with Tofu. It was delicious too. Great flavor and that coconut milk flavor one wants. He got a number 4 on their five scale of heat and I could almost have eaten it. He would have liked it hotter. He asked the server how hot was Thai hot and with a grin she said "10." He wished he had gone ahead and tried that. My only ding is it came with a side salad. It was pitiful in amount and content. Half as much as a side salad should be. Full of the flavorless crunchy ribs not leaves. Super sweet watery dressing. I didn't take a photo, because it was so sad. After getting that I was concerned what would come next. Then out came the curries and all disappointment abated quickly. SO GOOD!

Red Curry is our go-to when we need a solid meal in Flag. I haven't been here since pre-covid, and I think they've made some great improvements! For this recent visit, we ordered the fresh rolls to start, hoping to find my white whale = the perfect peanut sauce. Nope. They were fine, but I'd rather they have tofu instead of avocado. The entrees came with a nice small salad. Again - just fine. The dressing had a solid ginger hint to it. My husband got the yellow curry with tofu. It was made mild for him, and he enjoyed the light flavor and fresh veggies. I decided to experiment and try something I hadn't had ever before: Kow Sol. I've actually never seen it on a menu before, but the description included my favorite things - curry, rice noodles, ginger and crunch noodles. The dish blew my mind. It had a heavy ginger base flavor, and was perfectly heated (I ordered it hot). It wasn't "hot" in my book - it was exactly what I want in heat - enough to make my mouth sing without making my gut cry. Happily, I had left over enough for two more meals, and it just got better over time. Service was great - prompt, friendly and accurate. And lots of water for the heat! I probably won't drive back to Flag just to eat here, given the nightmare that is I-17, but I doubt I'd be able to visit without stopping again for the Kow Sol.

    54. Pad Woon Sen

We ordered the appetizer sampler platter, pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, and the pad woon sen. The appetizers were yummy! Loved the clever samosa wonton. The pad woon sen was my favorite -- the thin noodles were such a yummy texture. We loved the pad Thai as well. I felt the pineapple fried rice was a bit soft textured, I usually prefer my fried rice to be a bit on the dryer side-- but others in my party felt it was their favorite dish!! The pad see ew was okay-- there were groups of flat noodles that were still stuck together, and I wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor. The restaurant has beautiful chandeliers but it was a bit warm-- one of our party had to step outside to cool down. Service was incredible and helped us find dishes we would love when we were indecisive-- thank you!!

    Coconut soup and pumpkin seeds

Lunch - had the eggplant with basil, veggies, brown rice and black beans. Also had the Coconut soup which was loaded with vegetables, cabbage, carrots and shiitake mushrooms, and a side of roasted pumpkin seeds. Spice levels were appropriate and both were thoroughly delicious Looking forward to trying more of their dishes, definitely Thai food without the meat

    Kale salad - yum!!

Fresh and delicious vegan Thai every single time! The Tom Ka soup was as beautiful and scrumptious as this salad!

All vegan eatery. Hard to decide what to order because everything looks good. Very friendly service. They were out of a few things but that is to be expected. The appetizers were amazing. Fried tofu. Summer rolls. Vegan sushi. I could eat it all, all day! I ordered the vegan orange chicken but they were out of the chicken substitute so I went with fried tofu instead. It was delicious!

We ended up going there early around 6ish..so there weren't as many people. But later on, I saw it getting crowded. Also lot of take away order, phone was continuously ringing. Food was good, I found the Crispy Tofu the best. The quantity is also enough for each person.

Healthy and balanced, kid friendly options, vegan desserts, and options that everyone in the family could get excited about. For the kids I especially appreciated the extensive mix and match ala carte options. It is absolutely one of those nostalgic vegan cafes like I frequented in college I won't say how many years ago - whole foods from scratch cooking, a little under salted (they have salt on the table if you prefer restaurant level salting), great use of spices for flavor, nothing trendy just wholesome reliably good food. We had the tamales (both lunch and breakfast plates), classic French toast, fruit cup, sausages, steamed greens, cheesecake, peanut butter chip cookie, and brownie. Loved it all, the scrambled tofu was a surprise hit with the whole crew, pinto beans are cooked from dried with a great creamy consistency, the warm spice in the French toast made it appealing to the grown ups without being "too spicy" for the kids. Home fries were another surprise hit with crispy exterior and fluffy interior on each piece. Desserts were very good - the blueberry cheesecake and peanut butter chocolate chip cookies were the favorites. The tamales were very good but on the smaller side, if you're here for the tamales definitely opt into the small upcharge for a second tamale. Service was great, our food came out quickly and the team perfectly timed our to go order so it was hot and ready just as we were finishing our in restaurant meals.

We…read morearrived about 10mins after they opened for lunch on a Tuesday and we were promptly seated and served. It was a good thing, as the place was packed 15min later! This is our 2nd time at Fat Olives. I love their wooden floors, wooden tables and chairs and the brick walls...simple yet stylish! We decided on two pizzas- the 12" Shrimp Fra Diavolo (pesto sauce, spicy shrimp, basil, and the wonderful Calabrian chiles and chili oil) and a 10" Pepperoni. The shrimp pizza was amazing and will have me stopping in here on future Flagstaff trips! The crust was perfectly cooked- a little char from the wood smoke oven and a little chewiness like a good crust should have. Despite the place getting crazy before we left, our waiter was very attentive and got us a box for our last 3 slices (all from the pep) and to-go drinks. Being hot and sunny, we placed the pizza box on our dash and had the last few slices hours later on the road. The only problem with Fat Olives is it being in Flagstaff and not in metro-Phoenix. Okay...2nd problem is I want to try every pizza they have. If the first problem gets fixed, the 2nd problem may go away! Final note- they do have several pizzas with nuts on them, so those with nut allergies should speak to their server to understand any risk.

The amount of was generous, it's spicy, but I think it's a little bit oily and too salty for me. The belgio dolce was sweet and salty, it's better than the shrimp one. Their fat olives salad was good, it was refreshing and I liked the chicken breast they grilled, very tender. The caprese was good too. Don't forget to order tiramisu as dessert, it's not too sweet. The Italian soda was definitely on the sweeter side, but interesting to drink. The vibe was also good, and the staff was friendly. Be sure to make a reservation so you don't wait too long.

**July 2026: Tuesday and Wednesday Morning**…read more I usually make it a point to try new places when I travel, so the fact that I ate at Forêt FLG twice in the same trip should say everything about how much I enjoyed it. I was initially drawn in after hearing that Chef Sam Greenhalgh was a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award (Best Chef: Southwest), and I was curious to try his food for myself. On my first visit, my friend and I ordered the Canelés de Bordeaux, Pain au Chocolat, Soft Scrambled Egg Plate, and Breakfast Burrito. We came back again for breakfast and tried the scrambled eggs toast and a savory waffle. Everything we had was delicious, but the Soft Scrambled Egg Plate was truly something special. The eggs were unbelievably light and fluffy, paired with perfectly buttered, toasted bread that somehow felt magical in its simplicity. The heirloom tomatoes and creamy avocado added such a fresh, balanced touch. It's a simple dish, but the execution was exceptional--and honestly, that's what makes it so memorable. I know it sounds a little crazy to return twice for something so simple, but it was just that well done. The breakfast burrito was a strong second favorite. We took it to go as we continued our road trip toward the Four Corners Monument, and it held up really well. It was packed with flavor, and I especially loved that the tortilla had a nice crisp to it.
