We were SO disappointed last night. We were looking forward to Red Devil pizza and salad. Had it delivered, the person delivered it and didn't even give us a moment to check the order. Item missing, tried to call and phone was busy, gave up after 20 minutes and emailed a company called SLICE which is who I guess they use for delivery. Why are there not more phone lines at this place?? Interesting, I don't ever have a problem at the La Verne location. The pizza was just horrible and that's unusual. It was soggy and skimpy on toppings. I could accepted the latter, but soggy pizza is gross. We threw most of it out. Well, at least the salad was good. We wanted to talk to someone at Red Devil, but can't seem to speak with a manager and there's no email address. I think if they had a way one could address concerns via email or answering phone there would be less bad reviews....If they addressed issues. WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO RED DEVIL?!? This used to be our go to spot and now I'm so disappointed with their food and service I won't go back. I ordered two pizzas tonight both were supposed to be light sauce and they weren't, the pepperoni edges were burnt and the centers were not cooked and floppy. This happened when we ordered pizza here about a month ago and we thought it was just because they were busy, so we gave them another chance tonight and still disappointed. They quoted me 30 minutes for my pizza, I arrived about 20 minutes after I ordered, walked inside, paid for my pizzas, they told me my order wasn't ready yet and they would call my name when my pizza was ready. I waited outside, the 30 minutes they quoted me came and went so I went back inside at 50 minutes after placing my order to ask for my pizzas and they were sitting on the back shelf ready, but they never called my name. I am posting this review a little over an hour of purchasing my pizza, calling and talking to a manager and reheating my pizza to make it eatable, this is how bad this pizza is. The pictures looked great so we took a shot, I used to eat here years ago.. I cheated on my normal pizza place and we ordered a extra large peperoni sausage / ham pineapple pizza with a side of garlic bread. We were told 20-25 min and were there exactly 20 min later. The pizza felt light and only warm to the touch but I gave them the benefit of the doubt just paying 24+ dollars and leaving with my pizza. Upon arriving home with my pizza I notice that if was swimming in the box and that the extra large was more like a large, it also looked nothing like pictures of the pizza on yelp from other reviewers. So we take a look at the cheese bread and it is just a sad looking half a sandwich roll on "SEEDED BREAD" who makes garlic cheese bread on seeded bread. I decided to call and talk to a manager and was put on hold for 5 min before asking to talk to a manager " HI THANKS FOR CALLING PLEASE HOLD CLICK " the young lady answering promptly retrieved " Jeremy " the manager and I voiced my opinion on the cold pizza and sad looking seeded cheese bread. Jeremy was a little standoffish telling me that's how they do it. I told Jeremy that I made the mistake of not reading previous reviews and he informed me that not all the reviews were bad and that most bad ones were from enthusiastic posters HAHAHA .. I told Jeremy he needed to turn to the half dozed teenagers behind him and tell them they are making terrible food and to stop now. Jake D. suggested visiting here for lunch since he knew that I had a Pizza List that was a work in progress. Having heard nothing but good things about Red Devil, I offered no resistance. I had attempted to sample their stuff months ago by picking up some pizza by the slice. However, you must drop in before a certain time because slices are offered during a limited time frame. We sat down at about 12:00 Noon before we were both to start our shifts are our respective jobs. We decided to get a 1/2 order of a Spaghetti Dinner w/Salad and Breadsticks that was listed on the lunch specials. To supplement this, we went with a 14" medium Pepperoni Pizza. Yeah, I love first meals of the day. The salad was basic (cheese, lettuce, croutons, and a hearty portion of ranch dressing), but it absolutely hit the spot as a starter. According to Jake, I took too many croutons. He lies. From my point of view, I took just enough! The spaghetti was served with a hearty meat sauce, with the pasta exhibiting that nice state of just a tiny notch below "al dente". The pizza was fundamentally sound. The sauce has a mild tomatoey bite, then finishes with a hint of sweetness. The crust was soft, yet firm, and there were some nice char marks on the edges and the bottom that added some character to the pizza. We got some Ranch dressing on the side to make sure that there would be no uneaten crusts this day. Cheese was totally there in a generous amount. And even though Jake D. served me my first slice by fumbling it cheese-side down on my plate, it did not fall apart. The pepperoni and cheese stayed right where it was supposed to. The decor of the dining area is pleasant, and it's somewhat reminiscent of the Round Table that I used to frequent as a child. It's well-lit, super clean, features a nice arcade room for the kiddies (and those of us who refuse to grow up), and also has a handsome banquet room that's perfect for private parties. Some LCDs are conveniently located throughout the facility, so it seems like it would be a nice place to catch a game. Service was fast and friendly. Kudos to our server Melinda! I'll definitely return to pick up some slices to try out how well they do with their basic cheese pizza, and every other decent combo of toppings. You know that pizza you miss when you finish eating it and think about it when you should be working or picking up your kids? This pizza is THAT kind of pizza. TMI: I have sensitivities to some flour and fast-acting yeast so often the pizza I eat is pizza we make at home. Suffice it to say, when we buy pizza made in an external kitchen, I read up on the company, study their likes and dislikes, locate the vendors, and lastly, I run their fingerprints via Yelp. However, when I am hangry, I skip most steps and go directly to Yelp. Thanks to those who left their Yelp-musings before me, we gave Red Devil Pizza a go. The sauce is fresh (tastes like house marinara), as are the veggies they use. They are generous with the meat. And, their cheese is milky delicious. BONUS: I didn't feel the list of negative symptoms I normally do after eating pizza-of-the-world. I recommend that you go with their personal size if you are trying it out for the first time, and ask them to leave it in longer if you like your pizza crust a little crispier. We also tried the chicken wings... I don't think I will have them again. The texture is that of frozen meat thrown in a fryolator, or, of microwave-thawed-meat. The traditional hot wing sauce is good though -I will get a side of that. P.S.
