We booked the day before and still had plenty of availability to pick from. Since it was only 2 of us, we decided on "Chained" which made for a perfect date night activity. We were literally chained together the entire time which made it even more interactive. When we arrived, I loved how the entrance already was a light puzzle to get in. They have a quite a few rooms and we booked The Cabin, where you have to escape before the serial killer returns. This is a unique location as the entrance looks like a dry cleaning business. Once you walk in the front door, the masquerade continues, and you must solve a puzzle to gain entry to the main lobby. It's easy, don't over think it. The main lobby and hallways to the different rooms are somewhat dimly lit and decorated well. It gives a good vibe before you even start your room. There are lockers by the entrance door to store your belongings. We were greeted by our game master Angel who got us started quickly. Before you enter the room, the exterior is decorated just like a cabin and looks very realistic. Once you step inside the room, it is very immersive and again very realistic. All parts of this room are pretty dark, but you will have flashlights. There are some good sound effects, and since it is pretty dark, it is a little spooky, but not scary. There are a few jump scares, one part that requires a small crawl, and a tiny bit of gore at the end. There is a good mix of locks and mechanical puzzles. Hints are requested via a walkie talkie. This was a fun, very immersive room, and we escaped pretty fast with sixteen minutes to spare. If you escape early, there is a bonus puzzle you can work on with your remaining time. Their listed difficulty level of 3/5 is accurate. They have a very generous same-day rebooking discount that I think was around 50% off. The only room that was available at the time was Chained, so we gave it a try. This is a two person only room and is normally only $29 per person, so with the same day booking discount added, it is a steal. This was a very unique room. It is narrow, a little dark, and the two people sit back to back in large wooden chairs with your hands in shackles and chained to the other persons hands. All of the puzzles are within an arm's reach, but you have to coordinate your movements since the chains are only so long. I think I remember a few locks, and the rest were mechanical or physical puzzles. It is described as scary, but we didn't think it was scary. But there is a psychological factor being seated back to back and chained together the whole time. You really have to work together as a team since both people can't necessarily see the same things. Hints are given via text messages on a TV screen. We felt a little dumb in this one, and asked for a lot of hints, but we did escape with about five minutes left. The listed difficulty level is 3.5/5, but I'd maybe bump it up to 4/5. Angel was a great game master on both rooms, and gave timely hints as needed. We definitely kept him busy while doing Chained. Their rooms are very inexpensive at only $45 per person, even for only two people. And the Chained room is only $29 per person for two. Definitely take advantage of their generous same day booking discount and do a few rooms. They even have an option to rent out the whole building from 12:30am to sunrise, and your group has access to all of the rooms. Only in Vegas!

We found this place and called around 830pm. They were able to squeeze us in for a 10:30 pm appointment. I have never tried an escape room before so they popped my cherry on this experience. I was a bit timid coming in but everyone in the shop was extremely nice and had a good vibe. So it was easy to get comfortable. We came during happy hour which I believe helped our tab. For the three of us, it was $105 flat. After signing a waiver, and a quick presentation, we were given one hour to solve the puzzles and save our girl. It being my first time in an escape room, maybe I didn't realize how practical the answers to the hints are. My advice to anyone going on this experience is to think practical. The answers are right in front of you. We were not able to finish the puzzle. We barely got into the second room with ten minutes to spare out of the hour of time given to us. And the second room seemed to be a lot harder than the first room. But overall we loved our experience. Destiney was a delight and even gave me a parting gift as seen in the photos. Since i decided to celebrate part of my bachelor party there, they made sure to give me a gift which was a beautiful touch to my visit. A few things made me jumpy but it was more so from me being in suspense than anything genuinely being super terrifying. Wouldn't really recommend for younger kids, but definitely for light horror or creepy-stuff enthusiasts. The puzzles were top notch with fantastic use of technology that made it feel very immersive. Our game master was attentive and honored our request well for no hints or judges. Definitely coming back to do other rooms!

The game design leans fairly linear, meaning your group will usually be working on the same puzzles together rather than splitting up frequently. I don't want to give too much away, but the one we did was Krampus themed. There was 10 of us and we all had fun solving the codes and puzzles together. Creepy themed rooms and you would need to have 1 person in your party who can crawl or be down on your knees to solve some puzzles. Just FYI! It wasn't as big as I thought since we believed that it was an escape building. There were 4 rooms that you would need to go through to solve all of the puzzles. There is a help button if needed and the game master would be there to assist you. You have 1 hour to escape which was plenty enough time. The experience starts the moment you walk in. The lobby is spacious, beautifully decorated, and immediately gets you excited for what's ahead. The staff was incredibly friendly and took the time to answer all of our questions about the different rooms, including the difficulty and scare levels. It looked like they had around 10 different themes to choose from, all designed to be completed in 60 minutes. Since we had younger kids with us, we chose the Scooby-Doo room, and it was the perfect fit. One thing I really appreciated was how accommodating the staff was. My mom needed a folding chair, and they brought one into the room so she could participate with everyone else instead of sitting out. Another nice surprise was that they gave us a clue checklist. We'd never seen that at any other escape room. It turned out to be a great tool for the younger kids, helping keep them engaged without giving away the answers. Honestly, if I were doing the room with only adults, I'd probably skip it next time for an even bigger challenge, but for families it was a fantastic addition. What really impressed me, though, was the attention to detail. There was a point where I just stood back and admired the craftsmanship that went into building the room. The sets, the creativity, and the puzzle design all worked together so well. You can tell a lot of thought and talent went into creating the experience. Arrive early because you will have to sign a waiver. Once your group is ready, your host takes you to your room and explains all of the rules. They will be watching you from the Control room and they are available to help if you get stuck. The experience itself was so much fun with different puzzles and mysteries to solve. You really have to work together as a team. We had such a fun time and we won with seven minutes to spare.

The clown was really good too, however he did get really close--like dam near touching you close. But they aren't supposed to touch you and you're not supposed to touch them. Also, you can't take any pictures while inside the escape room, so there aren't pictures to post from inside, however I did get a picture of the hallway walking in before watching the video. This was overall a great experience but I wouldn't recommend if you have bad nerves, or a heart condition.

Not too long ago when we were spending just about every day at possibly the most popular original…read moretheme park in the world, courtesy of our residential privilege, we never once thought, as we were standing in line after line after line for up to three hours, just for a 2-minute ride that somehow made it all worthwhile, that the theme park's design was really all based on the original founder's experience of the real thing during his own childhood in the contiguous United States, but of course it was, and so now that we can, we're grateful for the chance to experience that theme park's founder through his childhood eyes, visiting the magical places he created in miniature for us in his visionary theme park rides. So what happens when that theme park gets to be too expensive, or when we don't actually want to spend an entire day in an all-weather queue but still want to experience some magic? An escape room, of course! We are not professional escape roomers - just an empty nesting duo who enjoys all of a theme park's magic in a compressed amount of time, on a reasonable budget. We found our August 2026 hour of fun in Las Vegas with Once Upon an Escape, and as the company name suggests, all their rooms are inspired by our childhood fairytales, starting with their incredible lobby, dimly but strategically lit and misted. The mist fragrance and incense fought a little as you enter from the desert heat, but the air-conditioning, as it is in Vegas, was most welcome. Once Upon an Escape is family-owned, has been in business for seven years, and is located close to Chef Kenny's Vegan Dim Sum and Lunakin. There was lots of free parking when we arrived for our Friday afternoon game, right before we watched the new movie The Magic Faraway Tree at the Orleans. The two Whatever-Gender restrooms were nice, with pebbles in the sink - cute décor tip, as was the hallway going to the rooms. For our first game with Once Upon an Escape, we decided on 7 Dwarfs, which turned out to be what we call a G2 room, where there were some technical aspects, as well as good old-fashioned brainwork and traditional keys. It was a little dark for us, but thematically, worked, because the dwarfs were coal miners after all. There was tons to do, and for a duo who woke up early, drove five hours through 107°F heat and then had a heavy but delicious lunch before doing the room, the riddles were a little more challenging than would have been otherwise, so thank goodness we had a terrific game host in Kira, who obviously loves her job and was eager to share her family's ingenuity with us. This ingenuity included a really cool introductory video via magic mirror and hints that were delivered to us via Rumpelstiltskin by text. The system locked up on us once or twice, but we managed to unlock it by simple hacking (it was just another challenge in our game!) There was some crawling involved, and some of the puzzles were less in-theme than they could have been but we loved the room. Our favourite aspect was the cottage core décor, especially the last room, and our favourite puzzles were the ones with the apple basket and the use of magnets. We take this chance to apologise for inadvertently tearing up the props, thinking they were part of the game. Happily, they were easily put back together, but, yeah, that was time we could have used in solving the real puzzles! 7 Dwarfs was great value for money, with thoughtful props and FX. Some of the props were very well-used, and we would have liked a timer in the room, but Kira did a great job keeping us on track and was very forgiving in letting us have an additional 10 minutes past our time. Most importantly, we loved the victory photos she took on our phones - she actually used a ring light! We can't wait to return for the other adventures Once Upon an Escape offers - that's at least three more reasons to visit the Sin City!

It's an expert-level room, but they also have easier rooms that are just as creative and exciting. Right when you walk into this place, you're transported into a fairytale. This family-owned business was voted Best of Las Vegas for a reason. It's just 1 minute from the Orleans Hotel, 2 miles from the Strip, and has easy, free parking.
