We've done all the medium-hard rooms here and have liked them all. They're well-maintained and tough but not impossible to get out of on time. And it helps that the game masters are quite accommodating. On our last visit, Raina was wonderful. I also like the fact that in most of the games, the clues are written on monitors. With the information there in black and white, it means you don't have to trust your memory or argue with your companions about what it was the game master said. read more

First time here and our family did Once Upon a Time. Very impressed by the production value! Most of the puzzles and elements felt fairly solid and well constructed. For older folks who have trouble seeing in the dim lighting, they give you a small lantern (though when we had it, it could have used a bit of a charge). Chase was a friendly and encouraging game master. I could see this as being part of a fun group outing - grab something to eat at the Annex, do an escape room at Red Door, then finish with drinks at one of the restaurants at the Collection. Had such an amazing time here! I actually first visited a year ago with a large group of visiting coworkers and we had a fantastic time. Bought a giftcard (I love their same day-as-play booking/purchase discount!) and forgot about it. I was at The Collection and they had an open spot for 2, so my brother and I dropped in and the staff were all so helpful. The rooms that I have experienced (Confinement and Once Upon a Time) are well decorated, with tons of immersive props and fun puzzle tech that's more than just simple lock and key. Puzzles were appropriately challenging for the ratings on their website, and both groups I've played with managed to finish our rooms but didn't feel like things were over too soon. Shoutout to game host Simone for leading us through OUAT, being extremely energetic and friendly, and for walking the halls backwards without skipping a beat. I can't wait to eventually do all the rooms here- I've personally played 44 escape rooms in my life (and beaten 43). Red Door definitely has great production value and theming! read more

Went with a group of 6 on Sunday we had Nick helping us. He did great and was very helpful and fun! He gave us great clues and was very funny! He gave us all a good scare by knocking on the dresser in the escape room. We did Confinement which is their hardest room and idk what we were thinking haha it was so hard. We had previously done prison break which is medium and we did pretty well and we got too cocky. We all had a lot of fun though. Will probably go again but do an easier one. read more

We had a blast as a four person team doing two back to back rooms in celebration of a birthday. We were two adults, a teen, and a kiddo... we are not escape room aficionados but we did two easier rooms so we thought we could escape... wrong! We didn't escape or get close. These were tough for us but something I thought was cool that each of us ended up being useful in some way.. you really get to see how your team thinks and works especially under pressure. We had to use clues - sometimes we were slow in receiving them but I'm sure they're watching all the other rooms having to help poor souls out such as ourselves. The fair was a really fun room and a great way to start our experience. It was well done with tons of detail. We next went into the fairytale room and that was a totally different ambiance. We were stuck in room two on one silly thing for like 20 minutes and the clues were not specific enough (I don't think the cameras could see us well to help out) so that was one of the more frustrating moments. Did I say frustrating? I meant Fun - because this place is guaranteed to be a great time and it was an enjoyable experience even though we were utterly stumped by these rooms - kudos to those of you who are smarties and get out first try! Don't think twice about it - head to this epic escape room ! read more

This place is arguable one of this best escape rooms in Ventura County. I went with a group of 7 people and we had an absolute blast. We have done "Prison Break" and "Confinement." Confinement is ranked hard and it was no joke. Hardest escape room I've ever done. But the squad this pulled out the W and got the record time. The staff there was absolutely amazing. I want to should our specifically Jazz for making our experience the best it could have possibly been. Highly recommend it for group outings or a birthday event. read more

Went with a full party of 6 and had a great time. Jacob did a great job as our GM, offering hints and clues as we needed them. We tried Confinement and there were plenty of rewarding "a-ha" moments throughout the experience. We eventually did hit a wall that was too much toward the end. I'd recommend not worrying about going for a high score and asking for clues just so you get to see all of the puzzles. Who knows, maybe if we had gotten over that one roadblock we would have been able to reach the end. We're definitely thinking about returning for a different experience. read more

We did the Confinement Room. It was slated as the hardest in difficulty. It definitely was. We have done other escape rooms with hard difficulty levels, but have been easy to solve in 30-40 mins. This location was true to the difficulty level. We had 3 minors ages 13-16 and 2 adults. The rooms were also very spacious, unlike other Escape rooms were they are very small. Very happy with the Res Door! We plan to come back and do the other rooms. read more

This is a review for a group of 6 that did Confinement. Shoutout to Jacob for being the best game master I've come across. He was awesome. He went above and beyond to make our experience one to remember. The room itself was quite challenging but he gave us the perfect clues (and maybe a little extra push at the end to help us escape in time). Apparently this is their hardest room and I see why. Some of the puzzles were obscure and we never would've gotten past them without some help. However, the level of creativity that went into its design is something I had yet to see. This was a great escape room! It was our families first escape room! Our kids are 13 and 9. We did the "Once Upon a Time", one of their easier rooms, great for kiddos, but my wife and I still got stumped a few times! Our game master Tiffany was great! She has good energy and all around great host! We will definitely be making this a routine family outing until we finish all the rooms. read more

My family and I did the Fair Game. Nick the employee was our helper. He was amazing and very helpful with the clues. The only issue I have is getting the ball from 2 boxes to hit the clowns teeth. That alone take up too much of your time. But other than that this was a fun escape room with lots of clues. read more

The escape room for the kids was great and they had a blast. The escape room for the adults was great too but the staff was going to give them their last clues at the end but forgot to. However the staff was very friendly. The party room was excellent and set up perfectly, but it was a little hot and stuffy. The issue we had was bringing my 7 year old granddaughter to the bathroom. All three of the restrooms are for all genders and they were all occupied. When one came available, a man walked out of it and we went in. There was urine all over the seat. It was very disappointing and we ended up going to the movie theatre. Later on when I had to use the restroom I figured I'd give it another chance but it was the same issue, urine on the toilet seat and no toilet paper. Since there are three separate restrooms, it would be nice if they made one for boys, one for girls, and the third for all genders/or a family one. read more
