I've returned to Red Elephant 3-4 times over the past 12-18 months. The food is still decent. I visit for lunch with my coworkers and this place seems like a popular destination for Thai, especially among office professionals with the Wildwood office park nearby. Most recently, I tried Red Elephant's new Gang Garee menu item. This is yellow curry served with your choice of meat (chicken, pork, beef, shrimp) for $7.99 (+$1 for shrimp). The dish is prepared using coconut milk and yellow curry paste. I like mine with chicken. Other ingredients they throw in include sliced potatoes, onions, and carrots, topped off with a bit of cilantro. This is nice, mild curry dish. Good all-around aroma and flavor and not too rich. In my previous review, I noted the portion sizes being small. I'm beginning to think they're perhaps about the appropriate size. At least for the healthy eater at lunchtime. You're not going to have any leftovers. I continue to be a fan of their version of the Tom Kha (coconut) soup with chicken ($2.99). Milky white and not too creamy or sour. It's pleasantly sweet and light. The chunks of chicken meat are tender and don't taste like they've been frozen, which can happen a lot with tom kha soups. Added whole mushrooms and minced cilantro and spring onion really make this soup a delightful treat. Service remains good. The service is fast and the food is decent. I've only gotten take outs from here, but the inside looks nice. Tod Mun appetizer (fish cakes) $6 - Tasty with a good dipping sauce. Red Elephant is my favorite little Thai restaurant in Cobb County. I've yet to have a bad meal.

The parking is simple once you locate exactly where you are going.. lol! The eatery sits Inside the same plaza as Fuddruckers ?? On the corner of Windy Hill and Paces Ferry rd. Okay sooo? I met a yelper friend to try a new place for the both of us. Ordered: Ginger and Basil Lamb Chops, (yummy) Shrimp and Scallop Sham Rhod,(exquisite) drizzled with a spicy sweet sauce and Green Curry Tofu and Veggies. (A fav now)! The appetizer was typical yet tasty. Platter of some sort. I loved the sauces that accompanied it better though (side-note to self$ All of the dishes came out with a soft, fluffy side of jasmine rice, delightful, plentiful and delicious! I've heard from a few co-workers they like Red Elephant. They are Asian but non SE Asians so their spicy palate doesn't have endurance like mine. I finally decided to try it cause I was craving some Pad Kee Mow. I haven't had it in a while. I made sure to come before noon. I hate lunch crowds. I was dining solo cause I do enjoy some me time. It's next door to OrangeTheory off Windy Hill. Many of the businesses in that plaza aren't very noticeable to me. I've been to the plaza several times already and sometimes GPS takes you in the back of the plaza haha. Walking in, I was greeted right away and told me to pick anywhere to sit. When I sat down, the waitress came over with a glass of water and a menu. I still glanced at it even though I knew I wanted Pad Kee Mow. I took photos and looked up to tell the waitress I was ready. Chicken Pad Mee Kow. Extra Spicy. Thai level hot, please. I got soup for appetizer. I had no idea exactly what it was, it was like an egg drop soup but not with eggs haha. I did like it overall. When my Pad Me Kow came over, I couldn't wait to take the first bite. Not spicy at all for me. I had to ask for peppers. I added a lot and still wasn't spicy to me so was a little disappointed. Pad Me Kow tasted good the first few bites. Afterwards, it started to taste okay and I didn't want to finish. Overall, I'm really picky about Thai restaurants. With that being said. September 15th 2023. I met a client at red elephant for lunch, and I have to say this was a phenomenal experience. The dish I picked was super flavorful and 100% quality. I chose the red curry with beef and it's a must have. I don't circulate the Smyrna Marietta area but if you live in this town this restaurant is a Worthwild tasty experience. read more

The classic favorite 'Pad Thai' is amazing! This is the second time I've been to Red Elephant but the first time I have actually sat down inside to enjoy a meal in the restaurant. The spice level comes in 4 options (mild, medium, hot & Thai hot). I got the hot but, as a lover of spicy foods, I could have easily tolerated the Thai hot. Just saw that my previous review got a 'useful' vote - and realized that I didn't write an update - describing my last experience here: I ordered beef curry and pineapple fried rice. I hadn't had the beef curry in over 2 years and after taking one bite - I realized I couldn't eat it. It was just abysmal. I called them back to get a replacement dish - and of course, they were closed (they close after lunch and re-open later for dinner and there's usually no way to leave a message because voicemail is either full or disabled). So I placed the food in the fridge and dropped in the next day for a replacement meal - and experienced the worst customer service I have EVER experienced in my life. First - I tried not to be insulting - so I just said the dish was not prepared as it was the last time I had it - which I admitted was over 2 years ago, so I would just prefer a replacement meal - a different dish altogether - instead of having them re-make the curry. The server I was speaking to asked me what the problem was / what was different. I explained that 1) unlike before - there was barely any beef in the dish, 2) unlike before - the potatoes were thick, grainy, mealy chunks - instead of thinly sliced and 3) the one bite of beef I'd attempted to eat was tough and chewy / rubbery. She then started speaking very loudly and in a hostile fashion. No discretion at all and it was completely uncalled for because I certainly wasn't loud. Then a 'supervisor' comes over and does the same thing. Accuses me of lying when I show her a picture of my curry from over 2 years ago (insists that I'm lying because in the picture - its in a black container - even though I'd prefaced showing her the picture by saying that the food was in a container I'd placed it in - because I put it in a bento bowl type lunch box and added snap peas and carried it to lunch the next day). She actually went into the kitchen and came back out with a large vat of potato chunks soaking in water to 'prove' to me that their potatoes are always cut into large chunks - not sliced. As though I didn't already tell her that the last time I had the curry was a nearly 2 years ago. She was SUPER LOUD and then walked off and just went in the back and stayed - dismissing me. So - I left the food on the counter and left. And then I called them - and told the person who answered the phone that I was the customer who just left - and the food was returned - I was expecting a refund - and if the refund did not appear in a timely fashion - they could just take it up with debit card issuer. This was met with silence - but I followed up. It's official - I'm my Mother. And to be clear - in this instance, it wasn't about the price. I think that dish was around twelve bucks. For me - it really is the principal. You gave me subpar food, then got loud and hostile with me when I approached you in a calm, respectful manner - then you basically refused to offer a replacement meal and 'dismissed me' - by walking off and hiding out in the back. Ridiculous. I'm done with this place - and I'm never letting another co-worker drag me here either. The food is inconsistent, the prices are insane - you're in a strip mall for cripe's sake, and the customer service is non-existence. read more

Always start your meal with a coconut soup! They are delicious and come regular or spicy! My favorite here is the Pad Thai (Hot)! If you are a spicy food lover, ask for the spice rack! It has peppers, hot spices, and a hot sauce. Throw a little extra on for a real kick, but be careful! A little does a lot! An amazing Thai restaurant for lunch with quality and taste. I come here often since it's so close to work and everything I've gotten off their lunch menu is so good. My personal favorites are the Pad Thai (pictured) and Pad Zee Eu, but the Penang Curry and Pad Prik Khing were awesome too. Definitely go here during lunch since you'll get the most value then. You get an appetizer (soup or salad) plus the meal for around $9 and it's so much food! Best time to come is around 11:30 AM because once it hits noon, the restaurant fills up and you'll end up waiting for a while to get seated/get your food. The service is a hit or miss. When it gets super busy, I've tended to be neglected with sometimes unfilled waters or slowness in getting me checked out. Doesn't happen every time, but a few. This is why I'm giving it a 4 and not a 5. If you got a Thai craving, then this is the place to be. You'll leave with a happy and super satisfied belly :) read more

This is a small Thai place hidden in a shopping plaza off Windy Hill Rd. 3 girlfriends and I came here on a Saturday afternoon and there was just one other table occupied. They gave us some complimentary "chips" (the waiter's word, not mine) which were interesting. I've never seen them before. They're these thin, white, crispy discs that have a slight fish flavor. As soon as I took a bite, I noticed the fishies of it and made a comment to my table about it; they'd noticed it too. The chips were about gone by the time the waitress (not the same person who brought the chips) came back to our table and we could ask about it. "Shrimp chips," she replied. Um....none of us eat shrimp. In fact, one of my friends is deathly allergic to shellfish. So I immediately got upset and worried. Why would you not tell the table they're SHRIMP chips? We all asked if my friend was feeling alright, and she was. I don't know if they just had essence of shrimp or flavoring from real shrimp, but that was a scary moment that could have very easily been avoided if the waiter had just called the dish what it really was. We moved on with our meal once we realized everything was okay, but could clearly tell we needed to ask questions about dishes before we ordered. As usual, I ordered a bowl of Tom Kha soup (coconut soup), which my friends had never heard of before. After I mentally moved them down a peg on the friend meter, I suggested they give it a try and they all loved it (obvs). How can you not? It's coconut milk, broth, and lemongrass (I'm sure other stuff too, I use don't know what it is). What's not to love? Typically I have Tom Kha with little bits of tofu and one or two mushrooms in it. This soup had larger chunks of tofu and other veggies in it as well: carrot, broccoli, onions. Still delicious, but I prefer it with smaller tofu and fewer veggies. I got Pad Kee Mow, which I'd never heard of before. It's a noodle dish with meat mine with beef), basil, chili, peppers and onions and it was really good. I've never gone wrong with a noodle dish at a Thai restaurant before. There's a pepper next to it on the menu to let you know it's a spicy dish, but the spice was pretty mild. Just a hint of heat with each bite, so it was perfect for me. I wasn't in the mood for burning lips at the end of my meal, especially after the shrimp incident. Also, everything was an upcharge. One friend wanted extra egg, upcharge. I wanted extra veggies (cos I knew they'd be skimpy with it), upcharge. Another table wanted something simple like extra rice (I don't remember exactly what it was) and the waitress said $2 extra. For real? I more understand upcharging for more egg or veggies, but for more sweet and sour sauce? Come on. I do appreciate them not shooing us out. Since it was empty in there, I felt like our table was loud (even though we weren't). I don't even recall any music playing in the place. Just the sounds of kitchen utensils clicking and clanging in the back, and us having fun at our table. We stayed for a while after we ate and never felt rushed. They might be different when they're busy, and of course if they had been we wouldn't have lingered so long. So the experienced started out tricky, but ended well. read more

Came here for a late lunch which was a little empty here at the time. Very clean place and staff's were really kind. I ordered the large tom ka gai which is coconut chicken soup for $5.99. Also got the Massaman chicken that came with white rice for $9.99. I thought the prices were pretty good! Also, just FIY most of their dishes you could choose your choice of meat. So the price varies on what type of meat you choose. I thought the bathrooms were disgusting though. They should really clean that. This is my first time trying Thai food and I had an amazing experience. I've seen the red elephant of you times while I've been in the facility but I decided to go ahead and try it. I had the roti and homemade curry made mild. I was very much impressed with my roti appetizer which is pretty much pancakes and a peanut base sauce. I think I love the play so much because of the cultural artifacts, pieces and paintings that bring the place together in alive. The staff was more than nice and gave amazing suggestion since it was our first time. I went here for lunch one day seeing that I work nearby. The servers were very quick and attentive to ask me what I wanted. I ordered the chicken pad Thai spicy. It wasn't very spicy at all maybe a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. For the price I think the noodles were citilites Lee undercooked and the sauce wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to I probably won't be back but they do get a good crowd but I wasn't a big fan read more

Welllllll here we go, the place itself looks warm and inviting but the food.... NOPE! I order curry pineapple fried rice with shrimp, it was gummy and mushy. Not a texture I want in fried rice. There were only 6 medium sized shrimp, thank goodness they used the correct amount of curry powder because it wasn't overwhelming. I tried the curry puff with chicken, they give you two for $6 which is good and they were flavorful. The sauce they give with it is sweet n sour with diced up cucumber and onion (I liked it). I also got an appetizer platter which had calamari rings, 3 sticks of DRIED chicken satay, 2 shrimp wrapped wontons and 2 veggie spring rolls. Everything fried tasted exactly the same. So no need to waste money on an entire platter. My brother got pad Thai and an order of spring rolls. And my son n law got shrimp fried rice, because we know how good Thai food should taste none of us was impressed. Needless to say it was a waste of my $70. We're from out of town staying near the convention center and really craved some Asian food, so came here. It's part of a shopping center/strip mall area. Thought the pricing was a little high, but food was very good. The portions are also interesting. The basil chicken is a huge bowl, but our carb-dishes (pad see ew and pineapple rice) were much less in portions. I also couldn't get over that the mango sticky rice was $5 - it's typically $3.50, no more than $4 anywhere else we've been in suburbs. Our server was super nice. read more

We were looking for a salad or veggie focused dish after a week of heavy food and couldn't really find one (most of the salads seemed to be pretty meat based) so went with the curries instead. Good flavor and size of the meal, and appreciated the volume of vegetables inherently in the duck curry. We added extra veggies into the red curry chicken and was happy with the amount in there (though made me question how much would have been in it without the extra, since the duck curry was well stocked already!). It was ready quickly and for my standards met my expectations of heat perfectly (hot gave me a some heat but didn't burn down the house, medium was nice and comfortable). We'll be back! read more

This is a hidden gem in the Smyrna area. Quiet little get away spot in an area with different store fronts. Family friendly for certain. Ample parking with a very well lit parking lot. The establishment is larger than most restaurants that are located within a strip of stores. I visited on a Friday night around 6:30 PM. There was a family of 4 and a couple of business men inside and that was it! Service was good; our table wasn't visited for at least 5-8 minutes. But it was fine because I had someone to talk to. Our menus were given to us and we ordered right away. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes. I had the Pad Ze U with chicken. It was a smaller portion than I had envisioned but it was enough for 1 hungry adult. It was not extremely overly sauced or spicy or anything like that... it was perfect. I enjoyed every single drop of this dish. It was so good, I forgot to take a picture before I started eating! And it's super affordable; $10.99 plus tax! I would definitely go back. Be prepared to kind of drive around for 2 mins before finding a spot, especially during lunch rush. Space and Service - There are several tables around, but uh.. you should come early or later for lunch. Once I came at 12:15 and had to wait 10+ mins to get a table. Service - it's ok. Seems like they don't have enough people during lunch rush. I think I only see like 3 girls for all tables. That's crazy. Pretty sure all of them get super stressed and tend not to see tables at a timely manner, but the girls really nice. They're always smiling and you'll be able to flag one of them down if needed. Food: Complimentary (?) salad - The sauce is really peanut buttery-y.. I wasn't a fan. But the lettuce was fine. The sauce was a complete turn off for me. Roti - This app is ok. The sauce is again really peanut buttery-y. Not a fan The bread was ok. Tasted like pizza dough. Meh. I'd go with another app. Coconut Soup - Since ATL is slowly getting colder, this soup is handy. So glad I stumbled upon this cute Thai restaurant. The restaurant is super clean, the staff is very friendly and the Lunch prices are Crazy Low. Be Warned - it gets crowded at lunch and they are chronically understaffed. Hire more Servers! Their menu is huge and looks great. I got an order of Pad See Ew to go and it was delicious. The Pad Thai was not quite as good. The portion was good for lunch, especially for $ 6.99. You can add extra meat for $1.00. Portions are larger at dinner with a slight price increase. I actually enjoyed my first and only visit to Red Elephant. My co-worker was ranting and raving about this place so we trekked up to Marietta to check it out. We both ordered the same entree for lunch. It was a lunch special that included scallops, shrimps, all sorts of vegetables and came with white rice. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the entree but it was around $10. I'm usually pretty boring when it comes to Thai food and always order a plate of pad thai but that day I was feeling adventurous and was happy to step out of my comfort zone. ;) The service was stellar. I enjoyed my Thai iced coffee and the restaurant itself gets pretty busy during lunch hour so my suggestion is to get there before noon if possible. TL;DR - Full of flavor, cheap price, but services vary I come to Red Elephant quite frequently for lunch since it is right across the street from my office. This place is usually crowded during lunch hours so keep that in mind. Most of the times I order the Pad Thai: serving size is reasonable and it is packed with flavor, not to mention the price is relatively cheap compared to other Thai restaurants I have been to. Pleasant decor and good thai food. My wife is a big fan of Thai food, so I introduced her to red elephant after we had one of our office luncheons here. She is a fan now. Pad thai, Pad kee mow are highly recommended, also try the curries (all are good, Masaman, red, green, yellow). Thai Ice tea and soups are really good as well. Despite being a small place their food presentation always impresses me, there's nothing better than good looking food that tastes good as well!! Keep in mind that this place is brimming with people during lunch hours as apparently there are lotsa thai food connoisseurs around here (parking becomes an issue). Came yesterday to try their lunch specials along with 8 other Yelpers. Red Elephant seemed to be quite the popular place - the restaurant was packed during lunch hour ... which may have contributed to our disappointing service level. Our servers looked pretty frazzled - no time for smiling and too busy for refills - hence the overall 3 star rating. I'd give the food 3.5 stars. I got the Pad Woon Sen which is stir-fried cellophane noodles with vegetables - it tasted like a Thai version of Korean Jap Chae. The $6.99 noodle dish was flavorful and a little on the sweet side. It came with chicken, onions, and broccoli (but not Chinese broccoli as the menu said). The portion was generous. I also tasted a sample of the Pad See Ew, Green Curry, and Masaman Curry - all very good except I thought the curry sauces were too runny. Lunch specials also came with soup - except not the coconut soup typically served in Thai restaurants. Ours was like a hybrid Chinese hot & sour and egg drop soup. It had the consistency of hot & sour, but the soup had egg drop and minced chicken bits. I wasn't a huge fan of the soup. The staff is very rude and it smells like rotten fish all the time. Reached there on a Saturday night at 8.55pm and the closing time is 9.30pm yet I was denied. People were still having food there. Like Thai food? this is the place. They start off with serving hot hot chicken soup if you order any meat dish for vegetarians they serve papaya salad. I love their chicken egg drip soup it is amazing. I ordered chicken basil fried rice and the best part of it was you can customize the spicy level. Great Thai food and Service! Fan of take out, since dining in once left a bad taste in my mouth, but not enough to not return. I must of visited on a busy week, where they forgot to Windex the windows, clean tables and spray some smell goods.. but that could just be the OCD in me. Now to the food! Starts with the complementary shrimp toast. Air popped toast that has the perfect crisp and shrimp flavor. Great appetizer. I then usually get the Chicken Satay.
