We decided to try this this Asian place for the first time today based on their reviews on Yelp. We ordered the Crab Rangoon which was definitely missing the usual semi sweet flavor and they were a bit salty to us. We also got the Traditional Chinese Dumplings (Pork) and I have to say I was not impressed, the flavor was just plain. I got the non spicy Sesame Chicken which was not bad but I've had better and it didn't have that many "sesame seeds" on the top like I've gotten from other places. My partner ordered the Sweet Pineapple chicken and it wasn't bad, to me it was just okay. We ordered the traditional Chinese fried rice (Combination) which was good. The lady who welcomed us in was very attentive, her service was lovely. The restaurant it's small but it has a charm to it and the Jazz music that was playing was very lovely. read more

Well first things first, the service was top notch. The restaurant is really small, not a lot of indoor seating but nonetheless it's a charming place. On the other hand the food was ok, in my opinion, the fried rice was the best, but I have to say the beef in the fried rice tasted strange. We also ordered the Sesame Chicken, was like a 7. Then we had Sweet Pineapple Chicken, was like a 7 as well. The Crab Rangoon were a bit salty, for my taste. And last we tried the Pork Dumplings they were also okay. I really enjoyed the lettuce wraps here! The chicken was so flavorful and the sauce was very soothing. I also had the hot and sour soup which was good but somewhat average. For my main course I ordered the green curry with chicken and it was just OK. I think that they had some really good menu items and a lot of selection so it may just be a matter of finding other dishes that I would enjoy more but I think I would be back especially for those lettuce wraps. I do appreciate that it is family owned, but the wait times can be a little bit slower if they are busy. There's plenty of seating indoors and it has a very cozy feel. read more

The restaurant looks like it used to be something else and maybe newly opened. They said they were still waiting to get their liquor license. The food was solid from beginning to end. We had the lettuce wraps the spring rolls and dumplings for appetizers. The lettuce wraps were flavorful and a nice sized. When we used all of the lettuce the server brought more with no problems. The spring rolls were ok. The wrap was a little stiff and chewy but the flavors were right. It came with two dipping sauces that were hoisin and a vinegar fish sauce. I came here recently and the food was up and down. I had the Spicy Sichuan Wontons, Minced Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and the Thai Drunken Noodles. The appetizers the wontons and lettuce wraps were ok. They were flavored sweeter than I would have expected and lacked in the spice area. The sweetness of the appetizers was not something I was used to nor was I expecting that type of flavoring. However, my entree was amazing. I ordered my Thai Drunken Noodles with shrimp and the shrimp were large and cooked to perfection. The noodles were spiced just right and tasted wonderful! The best sesame chicken I've ever had! We've driven by here for years and always wanted to stop in and try it. The chicken potstickers were delicious and came with a great garlic soy sauce. The chicken fried rice had a LOT of chicken in it. They offer a variety of dishes, and I'm confident anyone can find something here! The atmosphere on the outdoor patio is nice with string lights. The whole restaurant was being served by one sweet woman who was also handling a lot of take out orders. She did a great job for how busy she was. I'm surprised I hadn't heard of this place before. It did seem to be a bit hidden, located a little off of the main streets. But it had a nice look to it from the exterior, and it was nice that they had outdoor seating available since the inside seemed a bit congested. I like that they offer lunch and dinner portions. The server gave us a few of her recommendations. Ultimately we decided to try the grouper with garlic sauce, string beans, triple delight, and mongolian beef. I'll start by saying that I liked the grouper and string beans. They were very flavorful and prepared well. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the triple delight and mongolian beef. The mongolian beef could certainly use some more flavor to it. But I was most disappointed about the triple delight. It was WAY too sweet. It was like they dropped the bottle of sweet sauce onto the dish and served it anyways. I'm not one to waste food, but I certainly had a difficult time with this dish. The thing that bothered me most was the extra $1 charge for more rice even though they gave us such small portions to begin with. Authentic asian restaurants never charge extra for rice. They are so cheap to begin with, and you can't eat your meal without rice! Overall, the service was decent. The server offered to pack our leftovers for us. The restaurant had a nice charm to it. And some of their dishes tasted good. I hope they can improve upon the other aforementioned dishes and change their policy on extra rice or just give more to begin with, especially for their asian customers who have to have rice with their meals. read more

She asked if i was picking up an order, i told her no! And before i could finish my sentence, she cracked the biggest smile and asked "are you gonna stay and eat here?" I said yes! And returned the smile. You ever felt like something amazing was about to happen..because it definitely did. I order the basil chicken, initially i was bummed because they do not ground their chicken. While waiting i was given a bowl of hot and sour soup. I've never had this soup before. Well i have, but i haven't. I tried it once but i just remember it being too hot. I'm not sure what was in this soup, but it was amazing. I had some kick but it felt hearty if that makes any sense! Have been a repeat customer here for months since moving to the area. Today I ordered three dinner entrees during lunch time and specifically asked to have the dinner portions (which cost more and are bigger). I came to pick them up and was surprised by the size of the bag- confirmed again with the lady who is always there - "are these the dinner portions?" She said yes. I went home and was not surprised to find lunch portions - and I know this because again, I have gotten dinner portions here before many times. So they lied and charged me extra for bigger portions while giving me lunch portions. I had three adult males eating this along with myself and we are left hungry. These circle boxes weren't even filled up to the top and had about three spoons worth of food in each. $50 worth of food here? I called back after I got home to let them know and same lady decided to argue back with me and tell me these are dinner portions as if I hadn't actually seen them before to know. It's just not nice to try and lie to repeat customers who live literally 3 mins away from this location. Will not be returning as I don't support businesses who treat customers like this. read more

Me likes Ming's! Mix of Chinese, Thai, and some other Asian fare. Been hearing about this place from my girlfriend for sometime now but it's not exactly close to home. Happened to be in the area yesterday and decided to head over. They have some off hours, closed on Mondays, open after 4pm or something to that effect on other days. Definitely check before you head out. We got there a little early and waited it out. Very friendly staff! We walked in pretty much as they were unlocking the doors and received a very warm greeting. Our server sat us right away and took our orders within minutes. She was exceptionally attentive throughout and made sure we understood the specials and menu items. We received our food quickly and it was delicious! My girlfriend had a Thai tea which she really enjoyed and I have to say I thought was tasty also. Definitely a step up in terms of food quality and prep. Next time we're over there we'll definitely make it a point to stop back in again. I debated between a 3 and 4 for this place. However given how much better it is than other options in the area, I went with a 4 star. Sandy Springs/East Cobb has some good food but one area we have found to be lacking is Asian food. At Ming we ordered Spicy Sesame Chicken, Drunken Noodles, Lettuce wraps and Chicken Fried Rice. Spicy Sesame Chicken- they were able to get good crunch which so many places nowadays fail to do. It's one of the first things I look for and they did a decent job. For flavor, it had a pleasant amount if spice and sweetness but they did go a bit overboard with minced garlic. As a garlic lover, that's not something I would typically say but the signature taste of store bought minced garlic dominated the flavor profile. 3/5 Drunken Noodles- this was the highlight of our order. Flavor was balanced and delicious. Be warned, the spcie level of this one is strong. I like spice and didn't have an issue with it but for those more sensitive to it, it might be too much. 5/5 Lettuce wraps- fairly generic, again has some heat and alittle heavy on the sauce. 3/5 Fried Rice- good flavor but nothing remarkable. 4/5 read more

Mings Asian kitchen has been the only Asian restaurant that we go to. We live in East Cobb area and there's a lot of restaurants to choose from. I love Ming's restaurant because the food is not excessively sweet. I know most Chinese restaurants are drenched in sweet sauce. Ming's also has food from Thailand with delicious curry. My daughter particularly loves Thai noodles there. read more

This is a gem in East Cobb. The word that comes to mind is 'authentic.' I just finished eating the spicy cashew with beef dish, and it was fantastic. Piled on top of a bed of rice and mixed vegetables, including bell peppers and corn, it was great! A lot of spice! I admit, I did sweat a little. But I loved it.
