5/5 stars I was in town for a whole week on a work trip and honestly, I had already tried about two other Thai restaurants earlier in the week that were just... okay. You know the type -- pretty basic, nothing above average, real safe and generic. That's usually why I end up sticking to my regular Thai spot when I'm out of town, but I figured I'd give Tubtim Siam a try before my trip wrapped up. I actually saw the place a couple days earlier but they close kinda early, so I missed it the first time. Luckily I was able to catch them right in time this night, and let me tell you -- they did not disappoint at all. It sits in one of those strip mall locations that looks a little sketchy from the outside, but once you're in, it feels safe enough. The actual restaurant is real modest -- nothing too fancy, just a chill vibe with a couple families and other people sitting in eating and enjoying their meals while we placed our order. I went with takeout: chicken fried rice and some chicken wings to take back to the room. Baby, when that fried rice came out... the portion was huge, like they weren't playing around at all. And the flavor? Whew -- it was immaculate. Not only the best Thai fried rice in this city, but easily one of the best I've had in a long time. Perfectly seasoned, loaded with all the right stuff, and it actually tasted like real homemade Thai food. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with good flavor too. For the price, both items gave way more than what I was expecting. Everything was on point. This spot really came through and saved my whole week of eating out. No cap -- I'm giving them a solid 5 stars. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm definitely making my way back to Tubtim Siam again. read more

Okish experience. Food was decent and service was good. Not a fancy restaurant to eat in. Didn't have anyone sitting and eating there but seemed like more of a pickup place. Perhaps that's the reason they are charging 18% gratuity in advance for every order- while dine in or pickup. Lunch menu had decent pricing. A true mom and pop restaurant serving very good Thai food. I stumbled upon this little gem situated next to Big Lots in a whacky little strip mall. I ordered an appetizer of cheese rolls and went with my favorite standby, Panang Shrimp. Great choices. Here's the kicker- the serving of rice was a large bowl that appropriate for the curry... I dropped by for lunch after passing it several times. Unfortunately, there was only one lady working the front and the place was packed. I made the choice to stay and I'm glad I did because my food was good. I left her a nice tip because she was working hard and thankfully everyone in the small restaurant seemed to understand and didn't get nasty with her. I had the lunch pad Thai with chicken and it was a lovely classic pad Thai. Some places are too sweet but theirs was just right. The lunch comes with a vegetable spring roll and dipping sauce, both were good. I also had the Thai tea which I enjoyed. This place is not glamorous, has outdated furniture and decor but it was clean. I'll be back for lunch for sure and update my review/score as I try more things. read more

This is my first time (and according to my wife) not my last time at Tubtim. The place is definitely your no frills cozy hole in the wall place. The server took her time, and then asked us to sit wherever, which we did appreciate by the time she was helping us, and took her time with us too. We ordered the chicken pad Thai, the basil chili fried rice, cheese rolls (crab rangoon), and the spring rolls. The chicken pad Thai was absolutely perfectly made, sweet with a bit of tang (you need that) and well portioned. The basil chili fried rice according to my wife was equally as good. The spring rolls were great, and the cheese rolls were also fantastic. I will say I'm going to have to remove one star for price (could have been less, especially as there were really no frills) and the tip was added in (I almost tipped twice). Also, for the cheese rolls they could have added one more (there were three, four would have been a perfect number). read more

We wanted to check all of the food boxes for our trip to Atlanta, and Thai food is definitely one of those boxes. This place did not disappoint. They have really great flavor for their pad Thai with nicely cooked shrimp. There was so much pad Thai that we could not even finish at all, which is rare for us, so we had some to take back to the hotel. The highly rated score for this restaurant were definitely accurate so do yourself a favor when you're in the area and check them out. read more

This is my first time to Tubtim Siam. I was pleasantly surprised. It has a cozy no frills dinning atmosphere that is kept clean. Tonight, there is just one person working the dining room. All the booths are taken, along with two other tables, myself and the steady flow of take out orders. The server seems to be maintaining a steady level of awareness to all that is going on and the moving parts. I had the combination green curry and a Thai tea. The curry was really good. Very smooth, flavorful, cooked just right without the vegetables being over cooked. I will be back! read more

The chef here is great, I loved my food. We got curry, fried rice chicken, and beef fried rice and it was all fresh, packed with flavor and authentic. i went with my family bc we were in the area and it got great reviews. It's a fairly small restaurant. They're pretty understaffed. There's only one hostess/waitress and so things are pretty slow overall. It's clean. They do a lot of to go orders in my opinion. We got some spring rolls and chicken potstickers which were very average. I didn't think they were that great or that bad. I got the ginger chicken, which was very salty. My mom got the spicy eggplant which was also pretty salty. We also got the red curry, which was pretty good. The rice was not entirely fluffy and kind of hard. They don't serve alcohol. They have a free parking lot area. Everyone there is very nice, but they're understaffed and the food is very average in my opinion. read more

I usually go to Top Spice but thought it was time to try a different Thai restaurant and every time I go to Ollie's I'm curious about this spot . It's a small restaurant and was fairly busy. The service was great, very attentive. The veggie samosas were just okay, nothing special. I had the pad see ew with tofu which was really good, just a bit too salty and I would've loved more broccoli. The Thai iced tea was really good. My parents had the drunken noodles and both enjoyed their dishes and the spice level. The portions are really large, at least two meals-worth. I'd definitely go back and try some of their other dishes. read more

I need to update this and do a proper review! I have tried this place 2 times and feel like it was really tasty! I would return. The curries are actually quite good; flavors are distinctive and there is a good amount of curry sauce, veggies, and proteins evenly distributed. The shrimp is fresh. We also go the Tom Kha large soup donut bowl thing and it stayed heated. We also got pad thai and drunken noodles. I would say, the curries are their strong suit; their soup was good as well as the chicken skewers. The samosas were actually kind of tiny. Love hate relationship. One of the best places for Thai in Smyrna , but since new management they are criminally understaffed. One woman covers lunch. As you can imagine this leads to a daily show, if you don't get there first, prepare to wait long for your food and take it to go because there won't be any seating. If management is reading stop being cheap and hire help!! I have to spend my money else where because they just can't handle the traffic. Before I begin my review, I need to give a quick PSA. If you have baby mouth taste buds and cannot withstand spicy food, then please go online and make your version of Thai food at home. You are making it difficult for those of us who love Thai food as is with all the glorious kick. You are harming our experience and expectation of receiving the taste of Thai food the way it deserves to be enjoyed.... Now, when I entered the restaurant, it was empty. The young lady at the counter told me I could sit wherever I wanted. I chose a booth near the window. Although the hostess was pleasant, I did not exactly feel as if this was the right fit. More on that later. I ordered the whole red snapper that (according to the menu) had two red peppers. I assumed that the spice level would be higher and felt which was fine. The hostess came over with the menu and asked if I wanted water which I gladly accepted since it was so hot outside. One thing that disappointed me was that there was no wine menu. They do not serve alcohol, so that was out. I later asked the hostess if she knew of the restaurant was getting a liquor license to which the question was left unknown. I asked if you could BYOB. The hostess did not have many answers which I thought was fine, except she did not bother to take the twenty steps necessary to walk into the kitchen to as the owner who was just on the other side of the door. Especially since the leisurely pace of the restaurant would have supported the time she went to inquire if she felt so inclined which clearly she did not. In fact there were a few things that lowered my typical five star rating to only 4 stars this time and this was one of them although not the larger part. I can't suffer nonchalant attitudes in the workplace. Either do the job well or don't do the job at all. It's about the whole experience when people decide to eat out. When the food arrived, it was a beautiful presentation. The color. The attention to detail. The aroma all were spot on. I decided to order a Thai tea too. The fish was fried crispy and the meat was tender and flaked off the bones. There were many variations of texture, taste, and visual appeal, but there was something missing in the flavor. That certain umami taste was not there. Did it need fish sauce? A little more heat and spice? What? I used the heat sauce tray on the table, but that wasn't it. I cannot put my finger on the flavoring needed but if you eat lots of Thai food, you would know. The one napkin I was provided when I first sat down was almost shredded to pieces before I could get the hostess's attention to give me a couple more. Again, it's about the experience. These things also affect the tip for me. Normally, I tip well but when I feel as if I giving my money away in vain I'm not so generous. Some people won't tip at all, but I will give the bare minimum if you give me the bare minimum. I would rather you tell me that my food is ready and point me in the direction I need to go pick it up off the line rather than to feel obligated to pay you for your begrudgingly disposition to hand it to me. Sometimes we must look within. I decided to take the mango sticky rice for dessert to go. But before I could ask, the server had already given me my ticket without asking me if I wanted anything else. She had to go re-ring the ticket. Who does that?! It felt as if she was telling me "You can leave now so I can get back to what I was doing on my cellphone." The mango pieces were a little soft and overripe. Some of the rice kernels could have soaked a little more, but flavor wise it was good. I would probably go once more to order the crab fried rice, but I am telling you that the next time I set foot inside there they will have to step up the game otherwise I will be making the trek across Atlanta to Buford Highway once again. read more

The place is small, but has seating to enjoy lunch there. The staff is very courteous and will keep checking on you which was great. The food is authentic in its taste. The dishes are one of the best that I have tasted in the city. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place is a hole in the wall gem. I was born and raised in Los Angeles where there is an abundance of Thai food so I'm familiar enough with the cuisine. I had the pad see ew with beef (asked for spicy) and the beef was high quality. I was shocked because most Thai places in Los Angeles use a low quality beef sliced thin in their stir fried noodle dishes but not this place. My boyfriend isn't familiar with Thai cuisine and he loved his noodles just as much as I did. He got drunken noodles with chicken (Thai hot). It was so good we both would have wanted to get food from there again the very next day. It became a regular in our rotation for dinner when we were in the area. I have been blown away. This really is authentic thai food, and the service is AMAZING! I've been searching all over ATL for thai food restaurants for 40 years and have seen them come and go. Even the good ones just couldn't make it for whatever reason. I worked along Buford Hwy for years and had access to all kinds of ethnic foods, but none of them come close to TubTim's. It's clean, the server is GORGEOUS and they nailed just the amount of spiciness that I like. I had the Pad Thai, which is always what I get at a new place. If a restaurant can't do Pad Thai, then it's just not a good sign. And I had Tom Yum for my soup, oh my! I can't say enough great things about this place. Inside, 50's style booths align two walls in a small DR that would seat ~ 10 to 20 guests. They seem to do many takeouts. + Food is Thai that is better than average in Cobb but not as good as Gwinnett Thai restos. I've found my new Cobb County Thai spot!!! The picture does it no justice, this place is GOOD!!! I ordered the basil stir fry with chicken lunch special (American hot because Thai hot is too much for me to handle) and it was so delicious! Extremely flavorful and they cook to order. It also came with a spring roll which was delicious. I ordered a Thai ice tea as well, which was very good. I'm well pleased all around and will be returning! Although the size is quaint, it's also affordable. I stuffed myself on the Pad Thai. The other half was more adventurous & had a similar dish, except extra spicy. My favorite date night is going to Tubtim, placing a to go order, and then wondering around Ollie's next door. The food is always ready in 20 minutes or so, and the staff (shoutout to Theresa) are lovely. They also have nice seating inside and service is great. Great for take out! Flavorful food. They do have indoor seating, but it is just a few seats. There is only 2 parking spots. Portions and prices are decent for the current times. Would I go back?
