The best thing about redhawk is the amount of things it has for kids for people who can't find babysitters. The apex area is a great attraction. The hotel room is very nice as well . The casino floor looks big but it's just because the have mirrors in the walls . I love that they have free refreshments around the casino . My only issue wasn't even with the casino itself , it was with other people . I've been to a few casinos but this one by far has the most rude people just walking in front of you , stopping in the middle of the floor in front of everyone . I came for Sunday brunch, (separate review...) I didn't gamble this time, but I spent some time looking around. Everything is clean and bright, including the bathrooms. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. There are a large number of slot machines. (including a "big Bertha"), and table games as well. I also like the fact that they have a help yourself soda bar if you are playing. I was told that the main floor is the non-smoking floor. That must be correct, because I did not smell any smoke at all. I like the fact that the whole floor is non-smoking. I've been to casinos with smoking sections, and of course, the smoke bleeds out into the rest of the casino. Their new "Apex", is also very nice. It has quite a few things, including arcade, games, a golf simulator, bowling, a multi-level go kart, track, as well as a grill and a sports bar. Very impressive. One thing I also like, is that military and veterans get 10% off of dining at any of the food outlets. You go to the players club desk, show your ID, and then they will put your military status on your players club card.. you slide your card at any players club machine each time you visit, that will put the discount on your card, which you then take to the food outlet. They will take off the 10% there. I don't mind the extra step of having to slide your card every time to get the discount. It's just a minor inconvenience. I will definitely come back To play. I love gambling here at Red Hawk Resort & Casino! Despite losing more than I win, Lol, I will still come here from time to time to enjoy my gambling. Ever since I started coming to gamble here, I've always had a great experience. I love that they have their own exit off the freeway that takes you straight into the parking garage. I've been here at different times of the day, majority on the weekends and parking is very easy to navigate and plenty of parking available. One of my favorite things that differ from the other casinos is that they have a self serve coffee/non alcoholic beverage station. In my experience, sometimes I don't see any server walking around with beverages and majority of the time I just want a water to sip on while I'm gambling. They do have servers that walk around, especially for alcoholic drinks, but if you're thirsty and don't see anyone you can go ahead and grab your own beverage. Another thing that I enjoy here is Koto Buffet. Their food is delicious, they have different options of food, and I especially enjoy their omelet station! I want to point out that on top of all that you have a breath taking beautiful view of the reservation! While enjoying your meal make sure you relax, enjoy & take in the beautiful view! We've also taken the opportunity to stay here as well! Their rooms are spacious and comfortable! The part of the resort & room we stayed at also had a beautiful view of the reservation. It's so relaxing just looking out of the window and seeing all the nature surrounding the casino! It was also a bonus winning a jackpot while I was there! This hotel was extremely nice. Let us check in early, extremely clean, amazing atmosphere I just had 2 problems and one of them was incapable of ignoring. I visited this hotel with my 1 year old baby- as I was setting up her play mat on the floor along with her toys boom. I see this needle on the floor. It's obviously a needle from a sewing kit but extremely dangerous to be left on the floor especially after waiting until almost 4pm to check in due to "cleaning" I'm so glad I caught it before someone extremely dangerous would've happened. Makes it seem like this hotel isn't safe for babies. Another concern I had was the meat on Koto buffet. Each piece of meat I grabbed was raw, literally not cooked raw. Other than that, every other food was great and my stay was great. The owner/manager replied to my review stating to email them, I emailed them and yet to receive a response to this day. Seems like they only responded to my review to make it seem like they were actually concerned. So therefore changing to 1 star due to bad customer service. read more

I got a good love and hate relationship with red hawk. My last visit it was love, I haven't been in a while so I actually want a little bit of money. I like they have the football game going where you choose your pics, however I wish there was more instruction on what do you win. I love there's a lot of machines and having solid other casinos. Not our first visit at the actual casino, but it was our first time being a guest staying overnight here. And overall our stay was very well enjoyed. Guest services was really nice Housekeping with passing through the hall was really nice and it was quiet when it was time for us to call it a night. The resort is fairly new which you can tell when you walk into the room which is really nice. And very well kept on the Housekeping side of things. While staying here this particular time around we visited the family fun center which is called Apex. From bowling to virtual reality Rides to having a nice drink at the bar to virtual golfing as well as indoor go karts and video games! Lots of entertainment for the family, a date, friends hanging out, or friends night. Or even just taking your chance at a gamble at the slots or card tables. I have been coming to red Hawk for at least 15 to 16 years and have really noticed a decline in having fun there. It used to be that your money would last a little while, But now you can go up there with $1000, and you will lose it very quickly with no bonuses on the machines and genuinely just not fun. I also noticed that the employees don't seem to be as friendly as they used to be. They are downright frosty. I had an interaction with a guy working in the high limit cashier cage that was weird. He never looked at me and he never smiled and I don't want people to act like Stepford people but don't be frosty cold and act like you're doing me a favor. I always preferred to drive up to this casino but not anymore. During my last visit I was pretty frustrated with how quickly I kept losing money and I know it's gambling.... I'm not an idiot, but at least keep people playing for a little while....not happening anymore. I am done with red Hawk. At one point I was at the highest tier of their rewards system and they have now lost me as a customer. I was waiting for the follow-up email with the survey I usually get to provide this feedback directly to management, but I never received it. So I am resorting to posting a review. Came here Saturday night and all the chargers were full, except on level 1 behind a gate. I went to the front desk and asked if I can charger at level 1 for a few hours- they said those chargers are reserved for VIP only. As far as I know, the chargers were not used for the entire time I was there. This property is pretty far out of nowhere - they should accommodate a simple charging request by a guest. Even for a couple of hours, I would have been happy. Slots were tight and they pay less than $10 after bonuses- no I wasn't betting the minimum. For the same bet, I would win 300+ elsewhere. I've didn't see any handpay through the day but seen at least 3+ handpays at other casinos in the area on a Saturday night. read more

I appreciate him for setting a good tone on what I would get from Red Hawk. Valet parking for the hotel is separate from the casino's main valet parking. This moves things along quicker than most casinos resort I've visited. From valet to front desk - the hotel check in and check out process is smooth and stress free. The room was clean and even the lobby is beautiful aesthetically decorated. The bed and pillows are very comfortable and you can't beat the view from my room. Highly recommended for those looking for a resort stay in the area or just want to get out of Sacramento. I didn't take advantage of the pool, gym or hot tub, but I will next time. read more

Red Hawk is my favorite local casino, based on its slot machines, restaurants, and new hotel. Here's a breakdown of the casino and hotel. I'll review the restaurants on their own associated Yelp pages. The Casino: The space is very lively and engaging, just like one of the big casinos in Las Vegas. What makes Red Hawk so much better than the other Sacramento area spots is that they seem to value their guests more by offering free play almost weekly, weekend free gifts, and even weekly drawings. The machines are in great working order, and they get new fun games all the time. My husband likes to play the table games. The only downside to Red Hawk is that they allow smoking in the casino, and the ventilation system could be better, in my opinion. The Hotel: Red Hawk's hotel is only a year or two old. We were invited to stay for two nights due to our (ok, my husband's table game) casino play throughout the year. This perk was great for us because we were able to stay longer in the casino without having to worry about driving home late at night. The hotel is GORGEOUS! The lobby area has a minimalistic design with nods to Native American arts. The valet and front desk staff were fantastic and made us feel right at home. The room is a decent side with state-of-the-art technology and a very calming design. The bed is very comfortable to the point where you really don't want to leave it. The real show-stopper is the view! You get the most breathtaking view of the mountains from seemingly every angle. We hoped to stay at the hotel again during the winter snow season to experience that view, however, my husband had a health issue, and we missed it by a month or so. read more

Red Hawk Casino isn't as new or shiny as their other Northern California casinos competitors, but it has great personality. They offer a great variety of table games and have a ton of slot machines. The dealers are personable and welcoming. And the table limits are consistently lower than other casinos. The Apex Entertainment area showcases: Go Karting (2-floors with neon lighting), bowling, VR arcade games, and golfing. There's also a casual "grill" for light snacks and a sports bar (360 degrees of sports games on TV screens). And, a bunch of slot machines. They also have a kid area called Cyber Quest arcade which is separate from The Apex area. And, they have a child care area for children between 6 weeks and 12 years-old. Finally, they recently opened a 156-room hotel on the premises - which likely broadened their customer-base. While we've mainly only gambled and dined at Red Hawk, there's a little something for many people. I especially like the self-serve beverage dispensers so you can get a cup of coffee or a soda anytime you want. We love Pearl Asian Cuisine and I've heard great things about their Koto Buffet and Henry's Steakhouse. So, those will be the next restaurants we'll try on future visits. read more

Interesting to return to Red Hawk Casino to notice a subtle change. It was no longer a soft-lit casino like ambiance that we're accustom to where the glow lights were the slots, on the tables. It was like they turned on all the ceiling lights for monthly maintenance & didn't bother to turn the lights down. Bottomline. It was like gambling at a department store instead of the soft ambiance of a casino. (Walls were left "blank & beige"). Slowing losing decorum. Sad. We really enjoyed our stay at the Red Hawk Resort hotel! To be honest, we don't gamble and solely picked this for its location and its connection to the Apex gaming building. COST: Prices were surprisingly steep for a hotel room attached to a casino (I thought they usually made these more affordable so folks stay there?) - I think we paid around $380 for a room with two queen beds. PARKING: Free parking ramp and free valet! ROOMS: We loved our room! Very clean and high-end style with a lovely shower, bathroom, and comfy beds. It all seemed very luxury! POOL/HOT TUB: The pool is not heated so we didn't make use of it, but we used the hot tub twice during our stay and were the only ones in both times! Great jets and fun triangle shape. CASINO: We didn't gamble, but from walking through, it looked pretty standard. Smoking is legal inside, so was stinky for us non-smokers. APEX: I'll write on their business page, but this was a big selling point for our stay here and we enjoyed it! read more

The rooms are super clean and newish, definitely recommend booking a sunset view room, the views are stunning! One of the best parts is how kid friendly this resort is. Honestly, the kids quest alone deserves 5 stars. My husband and I love being able to drop our kids off there while we enjoy a relaxing dinner date. And when we pick them up? They never want to leave! My son's in-laws invited us to a weekend at Red Hawk Casino, and I have to say it felt very new, rustic, and clean; they had the most modern, almost fancy, area for kids and adults alike to play/drive race cars, and it looked like it was at least three stories high with a circular track. They had all kinds of video games and even small carnival rides. There was virtual golf, which the host of the party and two friends played, and they had a blast. And we went bowling in a VIP private area. We ordered pizzas and chips and french fries. It was decent. The kids were having a blast bowling and eating, plus they had TVs in there to watch, (kids were watched by grandma and grandpa) so everybody was very pleased. Our room was nice and clean and had all the amenities again. It feels very new, but I heard they had just remodeled, and I must say everything looked beautiful.. they have a swimming pool outdoors. It's not very big, but it cared for all the adults, and the kids had a blast! It was 108° that day. OMG hottttt There were a couple of restaurants and a coffee shop there. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. It was the only real detractor to our otherwise crazy, fun time here. I would come back. I hope they work on the food situation. This review is strictly for the buffet. There was a plentiful amount of lobster and crab. I thought that the lobster claws were better and not overcooked like the lobster tail. Cracking the crab seems like just too much work. I thought that the prime rib was really good here. I like the medium rare cuts that they were slicing. You got to love the fat! The oysters on half shell were delicious. The bread pudding was worth having. $59 all you can eat is pretty good. This place is in high demand. Make a reservation beforehand if possible. read more

So Red Hawk now has a gorgeous hotel. The rooms are very comfy and we had a nice view of the mountains with snow. The staff is very friendly. I lost a lot but had fun. Hope next time, I can win a little. The only thing I don't like is because it is so high, the floor moves in the casino. Makes you feel like there is an earthquake. I was in a hand with another player and he call all in, so I call . but the dealer without looking grab someone else chips (next to the player ) and decide to put all together in the pot. so I got ferris and called the floor men ( Michael) to review the camera . Michael was very unprofessional. He did not want to review the camera until I had make a scene . I feel like he ganging up on me because I called the dealer out and Michael out for theirs mistake . not knowing the rule and regulation and he end up calling 5 security guys to escort me out of the casino. As a RH rewards member, I had made the Prime membership and had to make up my points to maintain my status. Last year I was Premier and lived the benefits but quickly lost it when I didn't make my status points. I find that I hey don't call my name for any prizes during the drawings but they seem to call the same names over and over. Why? ‍ I know that if I play, I make some status points but what I hope to win is a jackpot. Having said that, If I win a jackpot, I would play MORE and hopefully get that higher status. I went to TV in Rocklin a couple of weeks ago, and won the Major jackpot on a $1.25 bet. So I know it can happen. Why not at RH? Me and my hubby like going to RH for the convenience of proximity to home but we do drive an hour to TV knowing that our chances are better to win a big prize. This place is doing it right. The hotel is top notch. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. We had an amazing view of the rolling countryside around the casino. Large shower and the bed was amazing. Clean as heck too. I'm not a huge casino guy but it was easy to get around and play the slots. I really like their air conditioning/filter system. Smoke was extremely minimal and you could feel cool air wherever you went. Plenty of non-smoking areas. Bowling alley looks phenomenal. We ate at the buffet and it was off the hook good.
