I'm a local customer and live just a minute away, so I've visited more than once. I came in for lunch today with my wife and our 1.5-year-old son. After placing our order and sitting down, the server loudly yelled from behind the counter for us to come get our water. It felt uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially with a young child. When I placed my order, I asked for extra white sauce, and I asked again when the food came out. Both times, the request was ignored. I also mentioned that we hadn't received our drinks, but instead of addressing it, the server again yelled for us to get the drinks ourselves from the cooler. The food itself was okay, but the bread was very poor--hard and barely edible. I even called the restaurant later in the evening to share my concerns, but was told the server was off at that time. Overall, very disappointing experience, mainly due to the customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to improvement.

They gave us extremely hard chewy room temperature naan which we had to go ask them for freshly cooked naan instead, which was totally different. The gyro meat, they literally reheat previously cooked gyro meat instead of carving it fresh off the roasting cone and providing freshly cooked gyro meat. The gyro meat they provided was also room temperature and obviously not fresh. Maybe if you get lucky and come in at the right time you can get gyro meat freshly carved off the cone, but the other times youll be getting older and reheated gyro meat which is unacceptable. Its the same situation with their beef kobideh kabobs and possibly even their rice. These were not made to order, instead both the kabob and rice were room temperature, not hot, and they had obviously reheated the kobideh kabobs instead of actually cooking fresh ones. All of this is unacceptable. To top it off their prices are extremely high. Gyros i believe were $14 which is very high end for gyro. The kobidehs i believe were $18 or $19. So their prices are higher than most places yet the quality is lower. Theres plenty of places you can get a freshly cooked gyro or kabob with rice for less.

Unfortunately, the restaurant was already closed that evening, so I returned the following day to speak with the owner/manager. Instead of listening to my concerns, he was rude and repeatedly interrupted me before I could explain what had happened. While I was standing there trying to resolve the issue, he started taking orders from customers behind me instead of addressing my complaint. He asked for the receipt, but since my family member had purchased the food the day before and paid cash, I didn't have the receipt. I showed him the untouched food in its original container, which clearly matched the meal they had served, but he refused to help or even properly investigate the issue. Finding a bug in your food is disturbing enough, but what made the experience even worse was the complete lack of professionalism and concern. Rather than trying to make things right, he dismissed the situation and showed no interest in resolving a legitimate customer complaint. I hope the restaurant takes food safety seriously and improves the way it handles customer concerns. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment.

Wow , I cant believe some of the latest reviews here!! It's like the Afghan purity police, or perhaps a competing Kabob shop, has found something to attack. Firstly, there is absolutely nothing I can find that promotes this great kabob place as Afghan. Nothing! In fact there are clues everywhere. Like the Middle Eastern / Mediterranean Cuisine statements on their website. Never mind the clear statement of pita bread and other food items on menu. The website video the owners clearly say they are Jordanian. If you even really visited the place you would see a picture of King Hussein of Jordan and his family, right there where you order. Very hard to miss. Did you not recognize them? All I can imagine is that you just feel that any Kabob can only be done your way? There is no rational reason for you to just assume this was Afghan food. And if your that concern for type of food, why not just ask before you buy? You don't make any sense.. Your an Afghan purist yet you don't bother asking? Jon and Rana are the friendliest restaurant owners in Leesburg, heck Northern VA. You don't simply ask, then instead feign shock and disgust and then personally insult them for not doing it your way? Amazing. The food doesn't have the right name? Look a Chicken Kabob is the right name. Your in America dude, Afghan is not the only form of Kabobs. I fully support your desire for your favorite kind of food. To all the other reviewers and people looking for facts on this restaurant, Its great. Aside from these folks look at the rest of reviews, and you will find the same glowing comments at other sites. My personal experience have been echoed everywhere, clean, good food, reasonable priced, and you will never leave hungry. Want more rice, a little more bread, ask. I bet that more often then not these fine and friendly people will go out of their way to make you happy. Have an issues, tell them, their desire to make you happy is amazing. I would only fault them for being too friendly and accommodating. I initially found that the meat was sometimes cooked too much for my personal taste. Now I don't even need to ask, they remember my taste and cook my way. And this is when the line is long and orders are flying. It is amazing. The menu is basic, but this is on purpose as a way to allow them to focus and get things right. I admire that. Quality, Cleanliness, and Great Service. My understanding is they will add more as time goes on. I look forward to the addition of wraps with kabob meat. I have never ever written a review before, I came here to do these guys that service because I was that impressed. Then I read those reviews. Finally, there is a Kabob restaurant in Leesburg, thanks to Jesse C.'s review for the reveal. Called to order a carry out, the guy who picked up the phone was nice but in a rush. "Your order will be ready in 15mins." So I drive to that stripe mall, had a little trouble to find this restaurant, its hidden in the corner's corner. Waited exactly 15 minutes until open that door, the guy said "Your order just ready =) ". Perfect! That guy and the lady who took my money were very kind and friendly. The restaurant is very new, clean and comfortable. Their menu is very simple, love it, easy to order, just like geico. Prices, however, they are a bit high, just a bit, a buck less would makes it reasonable. #6 Beef & Chicken Kabob; I was happy about the portion, and the chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy + tender + tasty. The beef steak however, was sour, not sure if they intended to make it taste that way or somethings wrong with the beef itself. Will order the same combo next time. Also, the bread that comes with the meal was truely a disappointment, it would be perfect if its the tandoori bread. I disagree with the negative prior posters! Red Kabob states nowhere in their advertising or on their menu that they are an Afghan Kabob Restaurant!! And, I never knew that the Afghans had a monopoly on kabobs!! I thought the entire Middle East and East Asia were famous for Kabobs! I have eaten Kabobs at EVERY Kabob store in all of Northen Virginia and it is one of my favorite meals!! We are lucky to have such a variety of wonderful Kabobs restaurants scattered about NOVA! However, I must say that Red Kabob has become my favorite as well as my clients that I reccomend to go eat there! ! Red Kabob DOES hold themselves out as having Middle Eastern and Mediteranean flavors. The meat is succulent, tender and masterfully spiced and seasoned! The hummus is perfect and dipping the pita bread into it is quite a treat. Clean environment, great service, reasonably priced and a satisfying complete meal can be had for under $15.00. It is well worth the drive from anywhere in the Greater Metropolitan DC area! Me and my family go to this rockin' kabob restaurant at least 2-3 times a week. When they first opened, we would frequent the restaurant probably every other day. So I'm sure by now you can guess what I think of this establishment. It has been the best kabob restaurant I've ever been to. The chicken kabob is juicy and cooked to perfection, with the rice flavorful and delicious! I've had the lamb and beef kabob as well and I absolutely love the spices they use on them. The restaurant is very clean and a great place to bring the family. Now, as for the owners, they truly know how to connect with their customers. They are prompt in taking our order and cooking everything fresh. They are engaging without being annoying. I truly appreciate the whole experience when I eat at Red Kabob. As for Justin R.'s comment on how does anyone know their names? He obviously isn't used to the level of customer service that Jon and his wife emanate. I won't go on trying to discuss any of the other negative points in his angry review, because I can't honestly believe he has visited this restaurant. What a treat! I'm addicted to the Lamb Kabob and also Beef & Chicken entrees. I've tried everything on the menu and find these to be the best, here and ANYwhere. The portions are large and the food is flavorable and wonderfully fresh. The hard working and always pleasant owners, John and Rena, are newfound friends by way of my repeated visits. I know they accept call ahead ordering for pick-up, but I usually drop by for take-out, but eat-in with friends. It is a pleasure to introduce my friends who have yet to find this treasure in the Dunkin' Do-nuts/Starbucks mall near Red Hot 'n Blue. I haven't seen the kitchens at those and other establishments in Northern Virginia, but I doubt that any can compare to the cleanliness readily seen at Red Kabob. Good, fresh, clean. First of all, it is supposed to be an Afghan cusine but the owners are Jordinians who know abs. nothing about Afghan food. All the names of Kabobs on those pics haning on the wall is wrong and the bread is Pita! NOT Afghan Tandori bread. The kabob is disgusting and it is a shame to do this to Afghan food. I think if these people wanted to run a resturant they shoul've opened a Middle Eastern resturant. I have been to many Afghan reaturants and name few for everyone to try out. I loved everything from the warm greeting and true hospitality to the AWESOME kabobs and rice! The bread (made locally) paired perfectly with the delicious basmati, chick peas, spinach and salad. The dressing was delightfully tangy while still maintaining a creamy traditonal sauce flavor. Lastly but certainly not least THE LAMB WAS TO DIE FOR!! I could not have been happier with this choice! It was SOOOOO tender, flavorful, perfectly spiced and it was a better portion of lamb than you could get at tuskies for twice the price (tuskies lamb sucks btw) I would recommend this restaurant to anyone even the first timer. This "family restaurant" is run by a child predator who tricked my 17 year old sister into giving him her phone number under the pretense that he would give her a job. He then proceeded to ask her out and harass her over the phone. She's on antidepressants now because she was emotionally scarred by the interaction. Whats more sad is that I paid $15 for something that isn't at all as advertised. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Greek Salad as I love grilled meat. Never have I had souvlaki in over a dozen voyages to Greece that was wet boiled or microwaved, as this chicken seemed to be. Souvlaki are grilled skewers. This place should NOT sell the pile of bland, blond, wet chicken breast as "souvlaki." The "Greek" salad was sad. No other way to describe it. It had the ingredients of a Greek salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber) but the feta was meager and there were no onions. The tzatziki was more akin to ranch dressing (not made with yogurt- real Greek yogurt would hold a spoon standing in it. This was almost liquid.) ) and the pita was a doughy, cheap substitute. Their listing says fresh bread, and this pita was not so much. The owner seems nice and personable, and I wish him well but I also wish he would pay more attention to the product he delivers, especially if they call it, Greek. UPDATE from owners rebuttal: I write fair reviews as I experience the food. The issue is not whether you have fresh ingredients or quality chicken: it is clearly stated what you served was just not souvlaki in anyway, it was wet sautéed chicken and that was not traditional tzatziki. It was tzatziki-like sauce. Period. If you go to a pizza place to buy a pizza and you get high quality toasted bread with excellent tomato sauce and good mozzarella- it's still not a pizza, no matter the quality, and you shouldn't call it a pizza. I don't deny you are Greek, proud or otherwise, just serve what you advertise. Good luck to you too!

Food is always great, and for greek food, the prices are reasonable. Personally, I wouldn't go for the ambiance, but the food and service outweigh the decor in my opinion.
