If you are looking for authentic flavor and portions that actually justify the price tag, Red Kebab is a fantastic find in Leesburg. I recently visited with my wife, and we were both thoroughly impressed with the quality of the food. I had the Gyro sandwich, which was excellent--perfectly seasoned and hit all the right notes. My wife opted for the beef and chicken kebabs, and they were equally impressive; the meat was tender, well-marinated, and cooked to perfection. At first glance, the prices seemed a bit higher than I initially expected for this type of fare. However, once the plates hit the table, it all made sense. The portions are massive--way more than we anticipated. When you factor in the quality of the ingredients and the sheer amount of food you get, it is actually a great value. Bottom line: Come hungry. My wife and I visited around 12:30 on March 5, 2022. We ordered two Gyro's and two Baklava and Sodas. The gyro was delicious. The pita bread was soft, fresh. The lamb was very tender, very thinly sliced. The vegetables were fresh. The sauce was delicious. A very good value for the price, I think it was $7.89. The baklava was very sweet, pastry was flaky. Filling was delicious, sauce was very tasty. I'll be honest, I've been there before and had kabobs but it's been a while and I don't remember enough to add to my review. We ordered the double chicken and the beef and lamb platters. Super flavorful. Would order again. Also got the falafel platter, which was solid. Good white and green sauces. I really love the food here. The restaurant is tucked away and can be easily missed, but once you know it's here, you won't forget it. Yes, the atmosphere is not like a Ritz-Carlton restaurant, but so often does the best food come from humble kitchens. August 2023, the menu order# have changed, and prices have gone up extremely. The menu on the website and menu signage in the window is incorrect. I ordered double beef and got lamb instead. They did not offer to reimburse or fix my order. Keep in mind that Kabob platters have fewer portion and no longer tastee for a higher price. I'm very disappointed. We've skipped this spot for a long time for its hidden location, but finally decided to check it out for lunch. The Gyro sandwich was excellent - the meat was soft and not greasy, the pita bread thick and soft. We also tried the falafel which was made fresh to our order and was perfectly fried and spiced. The sauces - one white one green were both tasty and good accompaniment for the falafel. The server was friendly and kind. The one star off is for the appearance and ambience - the place looks a bit tired and ready for a face lift. However based on our experience today we will definitely re-visit and try other dishes which we will probably take with us to eat at our home. read more

Spotted this place as I was very early for my Physical Therapy appointment and walked around the plaza. The thought of Kabobs was in my head the entire time I was in getting PT. I walked down to the end (this place is tucked away in the corner) and ordered food to go. I ordered two kabob platters one beef and one lamb. My husband and I love Middle Eastern Eastern food, this restaurant was not that. The service was terrible, it reminded me of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. I ordered gyro and it was very salty which is not worth the price and good for health. I asked the owner regarding the meat and he told me to contact the supplier. Owner could have replace the gyro or apologize for the inconvenience but he was trying to embarass me in front of the other customers eating inside the restaurant. Meh Kabob. Unlike a lot of other types of food, kabobs have nowhere to hide mediocrity. You have a 10,000 spices Indian meal- you can get by using kinda crappy chicken ... etc but with kabobs you're just not working with as full a palette. Meat- rice -bread - and they all better be good. So the kabobs here were okay, but that's it. I found the meat somewhat dry- but I can forgive that since it was take out. This Kabob and the joint at the Dulles Town Center cook kabob like it was food from the gods. Their sauces are the tops and the family that operates it are always friendly and a joy to meet. Kabul meets Leesburg and Kabul wins hands down. The Afghani kabob place in Herndon has more authenticity but Red Kabob never makes me see red. Recommend and if you like Olympic volleyball or the latest Afghani pop, dine in. Not much ambience but the kabob pops just like the pop on the Telly. read more

Located in the same strip as Red Hot and Blues and Dunkin Doughnuts is this little kabob house. When I first saw the restaurant being built I got really excited about having a kabob joint near my house. I waited and waited and waited. Finally it was complete. Now all I had to do was find time to go try it out. Well the time finally came. I arrived around 5:15 or so and was greeted by one of the owners right away. This restaurant is owned by a husband and wife team. The wife greeted me first. She asked if I this was my first time and I said yes. She told me a little about the food and I looked over the menu. Looking over the menu I still didn't know what style of kabob house it was because there were no real names for them. For example #1 was ground beef, #2 was chicken, ect... The #1 description was ground beef, onion, salt, onion, pepper, tumeric, and koobiden seasoning. I decided to go with this. While I was waiting for my food, a group of about 6 senor ladies walked in. The husband owner was taking his order. He took lots of time with them explaining each dish so they all had an understanding of what they were getting. In my opinion the ladies were just be grumpy old ladies, but the owner, was very patient and kept a smile the whole time. I also talked to him a little bit and both him and his wife are very friendly. Now my meal came out. I was disappointed because there was no naan or tandori bread served. Instead they serve a thin pita bread. Now on to the meat. The flavor in my opinion was very strong on the spices. I'm not a fan so super strong flavors. The ground beef itself was very very moist and cooked perfectly. Not a dry piece of meat anywhere. Next, the portion size is only one skewer of meat. In every other place I've gone to it's been two. The price was $7.99, that's about on par with other kabob houses. I'm sort of stuck on how to rate this place. Have I had better? Yes. Is this place O.K.? yes it is. I've heard from other people that the lamb is great, so I'll go back and try them again, but get the lamb next time. read more

Have to say, this place does dole out a decent kabob platter, but the sauce is what makes it good. Similar white sauce to the NYC street cart chicken and rice dishes in some aspect; the sauce here is what makes the kabob shine and pop. The ground beef kabob was pretty lackluster and dry. So, that's something I would skip. The chicken was perfectly fine and juicy. Also, as the other reviewers have mentioned, the bread is a bit lackluster too. This place doesn't make their own bread, but serves up Afghani-style bread/naan; it's not a freshly made naan or pita-like bread that you may be used to from other kabob joints. The bread here is made in large sheets and cut into rectangles for individual portions. They do have sumac available on the counter for you to spice up your kabobs more, which is a lovely, flavorful touch. The service here is a little bit awkward and too friendly. Not sure if that's the norm, but I don't think I'll ever come here by myself because the man that was manning the kitchen and counter was pretty aggressive about trying to set people up on dates. So just a forewarning that he may try and give you his number or get your number, or some uncomfortable, awkward mix of the two. But, if you're looking for a new dating scene, might want to check this place out. Whatever floats your boat. I would probably come back regardless, just because of the sauce that adorns these kabobs. Though, definitely not alone. The food is good, but the service... well is just a bit odd. read more

The best kabob place I've ever gone to. Their prices are literally incredible, sure is a steal! But I wish they got more recognition, unfortunately their shop is hidden in a corner plaza. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! If you ever go I recommend to get the chicken and lamb kabob, their kabobs are natural with no artificial food coloring which really brings out the juiciness and flavor of the kabob itself, this makes the kabob taste out of this world. And the sauces.....oh my goddd the sauces are amazing!!! The setting of the place has gotten better over the years. They've upgraded their tables and chairs which look so much nicer. When you walk in you know this is an Afghan restaurant, really sets a nice tone with Afghan pictures etc. The owners are absolutely wonderful, very sweet guys who show good customer service. read more

For those that know, Red Kabob is located in Bellewood Commons (the "Starbucks" shopping center) and they're located in the old Severn Mortgage space. The dining room is spacious and immaculately clean, with a large TV and free WiFi for diners who need to be entertained while eating. But the food is the highlight of Red Kabob, as it should be. The meats are perfectly cooked, side dishes quite tasty, and portions are more than enough for one person. We had the beef and the chicken kabob plates, which came with basmati rice and a small salad and a large, locally baked pita. Along with the dinner came two very nice dipping sauces, a minty, spicy one that went very well with the beef and the classic yogurt/mint tzatziki sauce. I can't overstate how nicely the meats were prepared. So often, kabob restaurants have the meat pre-cooked and it ends up dry and tough as it is reheated. The chicken and beef were tender, moist, and very nicely spiced. In addition to the main courses, we had a side order of hummus, which would have been nice with a little olive oil, but was fine by itself, with probably more tahini than some recipes, which made it quite tasty. The owners are very enthusiastic about their new restaurant and are quite happy to offer you a taste of something else, or a little bit more of what you were having if you're still hungry. My only regret is not realizing how large the portions are. Two full plates is really more than enough for 3 or 4 people, so you can probably get away with splitting one of the combination dishes if you want to keep the per person lunch cost under $10. Our bill for 2 dinners, drinks, and a side of hummus was $24. The graciousness of the owners and the perfect preparation of the meats make this place a repeat visit for sure. read more

Great kabobs, very authentic, best in Loudoun. However the owner/server/cook is very friendly, a little too friendly to single females. My girlfriend 2x picked up food and the first time he asked if she was single and offered his cell phone number to "call if you ever need anything". The second time was less forward but he was still very flirty and made her uncomfortable. From now on, the only time she will go, is if I am with her because it's very uncomfortable for her. read more

The food is pretty good, not super amazing but enough to satisfy my cravings for decent kebabs. Not much to offer in terms of atmosphere, just kind of a takeout place. However, I'm not sure I like the staff. I've been here once with a friend, and twice late at night alone on my way home from work. Each time the guy working the counter would ask me things like where I work, which location, and do I like it there, etc. Each time I answered his questions but tried to send the message that I really just want to get my food and be on my way, but he didn't seem to get it. Maybe he was just trying to make conversation, but I just found it weird that he asked those specific questions each time I went there? The third time, he gave me a business card with something scribbled on it (i think his signature?) I'm not sure if it's meant to be a coupon or what, but I haven't been back to find out. read more
