I was staying at the Home 2 Hotel Hilton in Fairfield, Ohio and I happen to see the Red Lobster which I hadn't been to in a long time in my home State Of Michigan so I thought I would go there. Mistake! As I was looking at the menu, the server came over and said he would suggest the fish and chips with hush puppies at the cost of $15.99 so I said OK. Mistake #2 very timely he bought my meal. Right away, I could tell that the two pieces of fish were cooked too hard. I had to press really hard to get into a piece of fish. There was a little white meat inside of the thick crust where they had cooked it too long the fries were OK, I had 2 hush puppies and what is this with mayonnaise on it! Mayo noodles! Not coleslaw! Oh no! The muffins had gotten smaller and didn't taste the same! Ugh! Oh no! This meal is a wash! I called for my check. Red Lobster go back to the drawing board! Ate in on 28 Feb 2026 and was very disappointed with the food quality. Two members of our group ordered the fish and chips. Both of the orders came out hot, but the battered fish pieces were clearly pre-frozen and re-deep fried before serving. The fish had a very thin batter coating and the fish itself was soggy. Another member of our party had shrimp Scampi Alfredo. The shrimp was good, but the noodles and Alfredo sauce were not very tasty. First of all kudos to our server who made sure our drinks was filled and everything was okay with our meal. I ordered a garden salad and my sister ordered a Caesar salad, and I got the four shrimp your way but I just doubled the popcorn shrimp and the Walt shrimp, and my sister got the shrimp linguine. My husband and I visited Red Lobster in Beavercreek Ohio today 7/7 for our anniversary and it was awesome. Food was very fresh and hot! Our waitress was fantastic!!!!! Amanda was continually checking on us , refreshing our drinks, and had such a great personality. Most waitresses/servers have none anymore, but Amanda was perfect. We went because of the new menu, but the food was worse. The biscuits were undercooked. The salad was drenched in a too-sweet mango vinaigrette dressing. The lemon basil mahi was nicely flavored, if undercooked, but then server brought the sauce for it, with no spoon to serve it. I made the mistake of pouring it on the fish. It was some kind of sweet creamy dressing with bits of tomatoes and basil. Awful! My husband got the shrimp carbonara, thinking it would be spicy, but it was bland and HUGE. We went here on our anniversary. Big mistake. Server asked what the occasion was and we said our anniversary, but no offer of free dessert or anything else, and no further mention about our anniversary. Ordered surf and turf, took a long time for food to arrive and no lobster!! Inexcusable!! Then when I mentioned it to the server he brought it a little too quickly which tells me it had just been sitting on the counter getting cold! Food took over a half hour to reach our table (there was only 5-10 tables seated max). My mother ordered fish and chips$18+ it was way overcooked and barely warm. South western shrimp $17/18 bowl barely warm but good flavor. Daughter had Cajun pasta $18+which was warmer and good tasting. The cheddar biscuits were the best. I ordered the cod sandwich with fries. The sandwich itself was good, crispy and fresh. The cod was large enough to extend past the bun but could have used a little salt and pepper (that's just my liking). The fries were salted perfectly but were a little soft. I must say the food was good but service wasn't. My friend asked 3 times for vinegar for his fish till he got it after the 2 people we asked just kept walking by us and never bringing it. He never got tarter sauce. The crab cakes we ordered for an appetizer came out after our meal and looked terrible and the guy says sorry I forgot you ordered them. We had a $35 gift certificate for Red Lobster so we decided to come here over the weekend for their lobster and shrimp summer fest. I looked at their menu options online and was excited about getting the Grilled Lobster & Red Shrimp plate. But when I got there an ordered it, they told me that they were out of red shrimp indefinitely. So in case any of you guys are interested in getting that, you were warned. The rest of our meal came out pretty fast, but the restaurant wasn't too busy since we got there half an hour after they opened. I asked to substitute the rice that came with of the dishes with their zucchini and squash side, but they ended up giving me both! In addition to my extra side order. Between the shrimp, lobster tail, and salmon, the clear winner of the three was the shrimp! The salmon was alright. It wasn't overcooked so that's a bonus. The lobster tail was just okay. It wouldn't have tasted good if you ate it on its own. Luckily, we had the butter dip from the steamed lobster to dip the lobster tail in. The steam lobster came out just as it should. You can't really mess up a steamed lobster. And it was super messy. If you order this, they give you the option of cleaning and gutting the lobster for you. Or you can have it as is. There was about a 20 minute wait because of being short staffed - the fallout from COVID. The wait was worth it! The food and service was excellent. Especially our server, Amanda.
