Wonderful overall experience at this great Red Lobster location. As soon as I arrived I was greeted right away and seated. The inside of this restaurant was very nice and clean including the restrooms. I did not mind the wait for my food to arrive because I already knew it was going to be good especially my favorite the garlic butter shrimp. Red lobster also has a nice selection of drinks from alcoholic to the non alcoholic drinks. Consider how busy it was for a Saturday afternoon the wait for my food was not bad at all. Only downfall to this restaurant is how much expensive the food has gotten plus I miss when they use to have endless shrimp hopefully they bring that back one day. read more

I had a great experience on my last trip to Red Lobster in Coralville, Iowa.. Service was excellent and the food was fine.

My husband went out of his way to carefully plan our Valentines dinner this year. He made a 6pm reservation many days in advance. When we arrived the front desk girl said we would have to wait about 45 minutes. My husband repeated that we had a 6pm reservation. She that doesn't matter, people came in ahead of you. This was one of the best Red Lobsters I've been too. The biscuits were made fresh. The food came out very quickly and was delicious. Collectively, we ordered: coconut shrimp, crab legs, lobster tails, assorted shrimp, mussels, and a shrimp Pasta dish. Everything was outstanding, not one complaint from the whole table. The Cheddar Bay biscuits were on point, as usual. I don't actually know the last time I went to Red Lobster... We popped in on a Friday evening. My kids were intrigued by the lobsters at the front door. We were seated right away. Both inhaled their popcorn shrimp and broccoli. I enjoyed Walt's Favorite Shrimp and the crab. Pricing is standard. Parking is a non-issue. The location is convenient, right by the Coral Ridge Mall. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable but didn't deliver a crab cracker for over 15 minutes after the dish was served. It's hard to eat crab without any utensil! PRO TIP: Go to their website. The Coralville, IA Red Lobster is Amazing!!! Been going to the Coralville Red Lobster several times a month for years. This is one of the best run restaurants in the country. Having been there well over 100 times, yes they have made a few mistakes, but they always make it right, and then some. Had a new waiter last night and no issues. Their training is amazing. Del & Mike do an amazing job. Friend and I split 1lb of crab and four shrimp entrees last night. Waiter brought a second set of crab tools and drawn butter for us. Rewards program is great. We got two free appetizers, then earned more with the points earned from the meal last night. I want my Bahama Mama with 1/2 the ice so my throat does not freeze; no problem. I want two Cheddar Bay Biscuits for my dogs waiting in the car; no problem. We want a round table; no problem. One day I wanted a 2lb lobster. They didn't have any, so they gave me two 1.25lb lobsters for the price of a 2lb lobster. Sleeper alert: Their burgers are great! read more

Now, I am not a fan of Lobster, or King Crab legs, especially when you need a crowbar to tease the meat from the shell. My favorite meals at this place are Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Lobster-Stuffed Flounder, all these meals at the $20 or less, price range. I also like their various shrimp offerings. I like their seasoned broccoli side the best, but also like their stuffed mushrooms. Most of the time, a tiny Hispanic woman, BONITA, one of the best cooks in Coralville, officiates in their kitchen. I had a craving for lots of shrimp and being new to Iowa City, did a yelp search and behold, Red Lobster. Now I'm in my mid-30's and the last time I went to a RL was in high school. Let me tell you, it was pretty good. Huge lunch serving with those oh so yummy cheddar bay biscuits. I got the linguini Alfredo with shrimp + Coconut Bay Shrimp and I would order it again (for delivery). I probably wouldn't dine in for this, but for a 45 minute door to door delivery that arrived in really nice packaging and still relatively warm, I am in. Oh and I get coleslaw (added some Siracha + salt and pepper, and it was golden -- plus some fries (skip them). All in all, a nice echo to my youth and hit the shrimp craving that I had that afternoon. read more

It was all you could eat shrimp, my friend, and I both got very sick. I called the manager and he did what he was supposed to do, he called the main company, but they never responded to me. Apparently they don't mind if people get sick in the restaurant! I would've went back if somebody would've handled this issue but nobody got back to me so if they don't care about their customers getting sick then I won't care about ever going back. I ordered the Maine lobster (1.25 pounds). The flavor was nice but the texture was dry, tough, and very much too chewy, especially the lobster tail. I believe if had not been overcooked the flavor might have been even better. So I think Red Lobster has everything needed to be a good restaurant except knowing how to cook lobster. Worse meal ever at Red Lobster! Salads are now an up charge. The coleslaw cabbage was limp & looked old. My husband got the wrong salmon dish. Ate some of it after scraping off the sauce. Bought a while ago 20 of the $10 make a wish cards, told the waitress to give 10 of them away and kept 10, she said I can use more than one when I come back, she said you guys come here often will override the one time use per visit don't worry, so we come one time and yes they did it, we came this evening and the one waitress that wasn't as professional I told her to use the cards she said we can only use one, I asked her to ask her manager to override them she went back and came back to say he said the same thing and there is nothing g he can do, I was upset and asked her to ask the manager to come to the table, she said she'll see if he has THE TIME!!! so after a few minutes he comes and tries to say it does say on the back one per use then he tells me after I showed him I was upset and this is what Susan the one I bought them cards from she said you can override and they did do them before and showed him the receipts from my email and we come very often after all that he started apologizing and said he is going back to see what he can do, he comes back to tell me he applied them and he wasn't the waitress didn't tell the truth to us and he wasn't told to override, I felt he wasn't saying the truth and I told him because of her and him this will be our last time to Red Lobster, love the food lives the other times we have been there but this time did it!!!! read more

I've gone to this red lobster about 2 times. Each time it has been just average. Red Lobster was really an awesome seafood place for midwestern people at one point. I don't know what happened. Maybe it was a Mandela Effect. (Google it if you aren't aware already.) Let's get down to the food . So I ordered a shrimp linguine type of dish on my first visit. It wasn't bad and it wasn't good. I don't expect freshness from red lobster it's just not possible in the Midwest. The meals don't taste like they are made with love anymore. The second time I went, I ordered the Lobster Mac. It was delicious but it was extremely pricey. I would definitely recommend it. It's safe to safe that Red Lobster has lost its spunk. read more

Food isn't worth the price you pay. We ordered a 1/2 dozen raw oysters and you could tell right away they weren't fresh. When I went to eat one I could feel ice on the oysters. When biting into one I could taste ice on the oyster. .We didn't even finish them. I ordered the Ultimate Feast and the flavors were mediocre. The lobster tail was chewy, the shrimp scampi was really salty, and the fried shrimp was what you would expect. If you enjoy seafood I wouldn't recommend Red Lobster because the quality just isn't worth the price. read more

Sitting at the curbside pick-up on hold for a manager (waited 15 mins so far) after waiting on-hold for curbside pick-up line for 10 mins. At least five other people waiting by the door who were here when I arrived. One guy got out of his car with a handwritten sign to hold up at the door just so he could get their attention. What a waste, and now I have an upset spouse at home waiting for a Mother's Day dinner that isn't coming. Found out others had waited over an hour for food. Eventually got hung up on on both the curbside call line and the local line. Gave up and left. What a disaster! read more

They really have turned things around at all Res Lobster for the better since they have split off from their parent company. They do have fresh daily options for fish. Haven't tried them yet but they have some good ones on the list. They have good promos that run on and off. The menu is better than what I went from before, have a pretty good selection that remains flexible. I've eaten at Res Lobster several times since the change, things are on the upswing. read more

Unfortunately my only two stops in Coralville are 2 star reviews. Though I can't say I was suprised... the food was typical of what I'd expect at a Red Lobster (obviously not my pick of a lunch stop). I ordered one of the lunch specials: blackened tilapia on a bed of rice pilaf w tomatoes, asparagus on the side and a soy glaze. What I got looked like a plate of steamed miscellaneous with a soy gravy... The only word i can think of to describe it was sloppy. Everything was mushy in texture too... Fish, rice, asparagus, and especially the tomatoes. Forget about individual flavor profiles, as the liberal application of the glaze/sauce masked all that instead of acting as an enhancer. Salad was a majority white bits of iceberg lettuce (a salad's arch nemesis). The only solace was the service, which was quick and friendly at the bar. read more

Coralville's Red Lobster has ample seating. There's occasionally a wait on weekend dinner times, but never over an hour. Outside of that the place seats plenty, has many staff to attend to your fishy dining needs and the food is wonderful. They've even made exceptions to help me get an out of season offering that isn't on the current menu. That's service! read more

The Invisible Broccoli A friend and I had lunch at the Coralville Iowa Red Lobster located on an out parcel of the Coral Ridge mall just yesterday. Most everything was as you would expect from a mid-tier chain restaurant in regards to quality, quantity and consistency. Of the items we sampled, the cheddar bay biscuits, house salads, crunch fried fish, hand-breaded shrimp were prepared well and tasted good. While the side order of broccoli that I ordered never arrived, there was one exceptional stand out at lunch that day. We paid an additional $1.99 to change from a standard side item to a "premium" side. It was a gamble that paid off well for us. We selected the mashed sweet potatoes with pecans. This side dish is awesome. It's not too sweet as it has the right balance of sweet vs. savory. I would definitely get this side again although it is expensive. read more

we had a party of twelve going in for a business lunch. the restaurant is known for not taking any reservation. they weren't ready to make an exception for us but they nicely said that they will make a note of it, provided that I go there half an hour before our lunch appointment. I guess on the good side they were able to accommodate us just in time before the party arrives, but it was quite stressful to worry whether we will get a table or not. the food was good, your average chain restaurant. i ordered a pina colada - i think the pineapple and the coconut flavor were not strong enough, no rum taste either even though it's supposed to alcoholic. I ordered the pick two - stuffed flounder and the scallop. disappointedly, some of the scallops were old, some were okay. so they definitely need to work on their consistency. read more

We were starving and had two long days of driving behind us. At the spur of the moment we decided to look for the nearest Red Lobster and found this one. It was great. Everyone was so kind when we entered. The waitress was super sweet (I wish I could remember her name~short girl with very short brown hair). Another employee took a lobster out to show the kids. My Mother N Law took us out for a nice dinner at this Red Lobster. We had a great time and thefood seemed good. My wife ordered the lettuce shrimp wrap app. I had a little and she had the rest. She ended up with significant food poisoning that lasted over a week. I had it as well but it didn't last as long. It was rough and included two doctor visits to understand what was happening. Both doctors said it as food poisoning and extremely well likely to be from the lettuce. Here's where Red Lobster failed:. Upon contacting them via phone, they never got back to us, and had their insurance company contact us instead. The insurance company told us it was hard to prove, and they said they never do anything in these cases. Both individuals told us they would reach back out and no one responded. Also we emailed their corporate customer support line and again no response. This was a major fail and the good news is that we've told about 100 people thus far. The food was served piping hot and was very good both times I have eaten at this location; however, what made the experience so pleasant was the waiters. On one occasion I splattered butter on my blouse, and the waiter brought me club soda and a cloth to treat the stains, even offering to send some in a plastic cup with me. This time, when our waiter, Andrew, discovered we had been traveling 5 hours and still had 2 1/2 to go, he brought us ice water to go. Very pleasant. read more
