I normally don't review chain restaurants but it has to be done this time. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in years, but my parents insisted we go. One meal and I can now understand why Americans have an obesity problem. We got onion rings for an appetizer they were DRENCHED in oil and the onion part of the onion rings was no where to be found. Now I know someone who orders onion rings isn't too concerned with the nutritional value of food, but still I must draw the line somewhere. We got a shrimp combination platter. The fried shrimp weren't as oily but had WAY TOO much salt on them. The linguine was creamy to the extent that even I, a cheese enthusiast, found it be overwhelming. I ordered the flounder stuffed with crab for my dad, which was actually decent but still a bit on the greasy side. The salad that came with our entrees was drenched in dressing. While our server was nice I really think the cook needs to be spoken to. I'm all about indulging and enjoying a little butter/oil/ extra cheese in my food but COME ON ?? The highlight of the meal was of course the small biscuits they give in the beginning. I have no idea if this Red Lobster is an anomaly or if they have all transformed into an artery clogging conglomerate, regardless I will not be going to one ever again. read more

Why do people give us gift cards for here??? Seriously, I wanted to vomit. We ordered lobster, scallops, shrimp and crabs. The lobster tasted like buttered rubber. The scallops had something weird on the end of it. The shrimp was like eating chewy buttery paper. The corn was literally dripping with butter. Why did I give this place 2 stars you ask? So far we've enjoyed this location twice. Both times the food was good and the service was good. We've only had 2 issues: the 1st time we went the lobster was slightly undone but not 100% raw (looked like they took it off just a smidge too soon) and on both outings they never asked if we wanted dessert. They just handed us the bill when we finished eating dinner and never even offered the dessert menu. We ended up spending our dessert $ at the cheesecake factory on some slices of cheesecake. But the servers were nice, food comes out quick, and the wait isn't terrible especially if you go earlier. read more

Stay away!!!!! Horrible service and quality of food!!! Take the time to drive to another Red Lobster! I order a drink while I waited at the bar because I had a 45 min wait for the table. The bartender took about 15 mins to acknowledge me then proceeded to charge me first before even making my drink. I waited 30 mins before my drink was made because he forgot. My drink arrived to my table without a straw! There were no silver ware at the table. Our salsa came out and we waited 5 minutes while the waitress looked for silverware. Myself and another person went to this establishment for lunch and we didn't have to wait to long to be seated (Since it wasn't as crowded when we arrived) and the place appeared cleaned, where we sat wasn't blasted with cold AC, seemed inviting and friendly....The problem however was our server seemed to be more attentive to other customers as opposed to us, brought the wrong dish, didn't ask if we wanted another round of drinks, took to long to ask us if everything was okay with our meals so far, and was disrespectful to my friend. Beyoncé owes me some money! Went here last night and the service was terrible and the food...just cook at home. Arrived close to 9pm for a family meal and instantly noticed the men's room was filthy, there was a spilled kids juice on the window seal in the waiting area and the ventilation cover for the Lobster tank was off and laying on the floor. After waiting 30 minutes (it was supposed to be 15 minutes) we were seated. When our food arrived, we all noticed different things. My niece's Pasta Alfredo had obviously been sitting under a lamp for to long because the noodles and chicken had hardened. The kids French fries and chicken were burnt. My nephew's glazed seafood dish barely had any glaze. My boyfriend's tilapia was over cooked and lastly my shrimp your way was tiny and soggy. I've been to this restaurant many times, this is my very bad experience for first time. Our Waitress, Jenna,was too busy attending her own friends. Her friends were sitting next to us, they were very loud and watching videos on the phone. I told my waitress about the noise that they were making apparently she didn't do anything about it and she ignored us. Then we requested the manager, she came over we explained everything to her as well about the noise that they been making, apparently the manager didn't do anything about it either. I think They need to hire more professionals people to deal with customers complaints. It's very disrespectful to other people who wants to have a quite dinner, not to get annoyed. Ordered food here through Uber eats for my 96 year old grandma. They left out one meal and the other meal (a dinner) was smaller than a lunch. I called, they said Uber messed up on the order they only had one listed (doubt it) and as for portion size it's the Uber eats drivers job to check portion size. So the manager stated it is not Red Lobster's fault if the portion was small rather Uber eats drivers are TRAINED in knowing portion size. Would not budge. Very rude. This WAS one of my favorite place to eat, until I was treated out for my birthday in October. And the person asked where I wanted to eat? Red Lobsters, I said out loud. And that's where we went. I have to say the waiter was really nice, but was not so prompt with the table accommodation until our meal arrived. And let me tell you about the meal when it came. I ordered the "ULTIMATE FEAST". Its was disturbing to see, especially from what I remembered it to be. Than again we may be going back 20 years. Lol crazy I know. But I used to go than. Probably in a month, about 4 or more times. The restaurant itself is dirty, sticky tables & menus. All the servers walk in & out of the kitchen carrying trays of food with their hair down. Never in all my years working & eating in restaurants was it allowed for anyone handing food to not have their hair secured. The bathroom was vile! The service was incredibly bad--it took forever for our server to take our drink orders. She was unable to answer the most basic questions about the food. She did not offer drink refills, we had to ask for silverware, extra napkins, and another order of biscuits several times. When our food finally came, the orders were wrong. I give this Red Lobster one star because of extremely poor management. At the end of September my family and I dined at this Red Lobster for the endless shrimp promotion and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever encountered. We all ordered baked potatoes as our side. After 30 minutes the waitress came back and said the oven was broke so we couldn't get the baked potatoes. We got rice instead. The waitress barely checked on us and the refill orders took about 25 mins before coming out. Some of us didn't even get the refills we ordered until even later than that. Very odd for a Wednesday night when the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. The scampi had barely any butter at all. The pasta was starchy and barely any Alfredo sauce. I guess they were running low on butter. We were never offered drink refills. Overall just a horrible experience. I spoke to Danny, Tony and another manager whose name slips my mind but it was a woman. Danny promised me a gift card about a month ago. When I called back because I never received the gift card, I spoke to Tony who also promised a gift card. Lastly I spoke to another manage (she never gave me her name) who called me and assured me a gift card would be sent out. That was on Friday October 14th. I live 5 mins from the restaurant. Gift card was never received. Extremely poor management. Who is the manager of this restaurant? Just false promises all around from everyone. Went here last night with my mother, her brother and his wife. For a Saturday night the wait wasnt long at all only 10 minutes. Our waiter was Preston. And all I gotta say is wow. Preston is what all servers everywhere should try to be. He was very kind and very attendative to everything needed at the table. We didnt have to flag him down for anything it was like he always knew when we needed him. And the food was also amazing...nothing was too salty everything was seasoned just perfectly. My husband had a gift card so he decided to order some food to go a couple of days ago. We havent eaten there since we were kids so we were curious. Of course, when my husband brought our food home, my lobster bisque was not in the bag, but it was on our receipt and we paid for it. We live too far to have gone back. We went on New Year's Eve for their weekday special menu. We were greeted and seated in a timely manner. We went for their endless shrimps knowing to put our orders in before 6pm. Much to our surprise, we were told that since we got there just prior to 6pm, the button would disappear and we won't be able to get "endless" anything after 6. We were bummed about it and just barely got our orders in. Our food came out in a timely manner as well. Now this is why I'm writing this review. Shortly after we started our main courses, our server Preston won the night when he brought out a ton of "endless shrimps" all the options that were available and kept bringing more. Had dinner here tonight, was charged 22.99 for the entrée New Orleans Salmon, the menu price listed it at 17.99. When the bill came and I questioned this, both waiter and manager said the lower price is the lunch portion, and I ordered the dinner portion.(it was dinner time) No place on the menu were 2 different prices for this entrée. (other items did list 2 prices but not this one) I said the menu is wrong, the manager said, not wrong, just missing information. Apparently I am supposed to know this, and not complain about it. The manager has a lot to learn about customer satisfaction, if the menu is not clear (and it's not) the issue needs to be addressed, and the bill needs to be adjusted accordingly. The bus boys and other waiters and waitresses had to bring refills while our waitress was no where to be found. As a family we normally go to Red Lobster in Iselin. For some reason, even if you call ahead, they are always unprepared to accommodate a larger party. The wait was long, while we stared at tables that hadn't been cleaned off for 30 minutes. The waitress really did her best but then when we looked at our silverware there was food on it. I was just here Friday night and yes we came in at 1015 and I understand it's late and all since we work in a resturant as well the server José was very nice and accommodating but there was another server on who would keep on staring and tell other servers and thrash talk us and then stare at us which is not professional at all. Also the host took her time to go into the back to thrash talk us before she sat us. Also the kitchen staff would keep on walking out to point at us the whole time we were trying to eat. My friend wanted dessert but she felt afraid to order it. That server who would keep on staring at us should not have a job or learn some customer service skills.
