We were looking for lunch and happened to see the restaurant sign from highway and directly went. The food turned out to be impressively fresh and delicious, especially Oyster and lobster! Highly recommending! And the price is very fair. We went to many Red Lobsters in North America, this one is exceptionally good.

Very overpriced for what you get, but if you need seafood in this area, this is the place.

A difficult evening handled with kindness and integrity…read more My wife and I visited Smoke on the Water during the very busy D-Day weekend in Conneaut. Our experience did not begin smoothly. Somehow we were initially overlooked, and after ordering we waited about an hour and a half before receiving our food. One of my orders, the brisket, was also accidentally missed. Naturally, after such a long wait we became frustrated. However, what impressed me most was how the restaurant handled the situation afterward. The manager came personally to our table, spoke to us very kindly, sincerely apologized, and made sure our food finally arrived. I told him that I understood how exceptionally busy the restaurant was and that I was happy once we finally had our meal. Then, when we were ready to pay, we were told that our entire bill had been taken care of. I actually insisted that I wanted to pay, but they would not accept payment. That gesture was far more than I expected. Mistakes can happen, especially during an extremely busy event weekend. What tells me much more about a business is how they respond when something goes wrong. Smoke on the Water took responsibility and treated us with generosity and respect. I have no complaint about the restaurant. My only food criticism is that the pork ribs were much too salty for my taste. Otherwise, we enjoyed finally sitting down, eating, and enjoying the waterfront atmosphere. Thank you to the manager and staff at Smoke on the Water. You turned what could have been a very disappointing experience into one that left me with a great deal of respect for your business. That is good customer service, and it deserves to be recognized.

We got a smorgasbord of stuff (of which items I can't even recall right now, but at least one entree salad and drinks), all of which was excellent. Even our picky daughter enjoyed herself. Solid 5 stars! Today, on my way through town on a work trip, I figured I'd stop in to replicate the magic. I opted for the short rib grilled cheese and subbed out the fries for the side of Brussels sprouts. After ordering, the food was out in about 10 minutes flat. Not a reassuring sign out of the gate... The grilled cheese was supposed to have caramelized onions. Now, I'm NOT a raw onion fan, but I can generally tolerate caramelized or fried onion strings on stuff. As you can see in the photo, the onions are NOWHERE near the color they should be to be caramelized. Sauteed? Sure, but they still had a good amount of crunch to them so not even that deeply cooked. Most of the onion leaves were still connected at the root. Also (and fortunately for me and my onion-loving self), the other half had maybe 2 very tiny pieces of onion. The short rib was done quite well and very tender but came in large chunks instead of being evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. There were also a couple rather large pieces of fat in them that was just too much to try and chew through that I had to spit out. The server was very upbeat and kind though and the inside of the place is amazing. Such a cool vibe. Overall, that's one amazing experience and one less than stellar. Being a mid-week lunch, I'm going to assume the A team wasn't on staff so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. I'll definitely come back for dinner another time for sure but I might look elsewhere for my lunch...

We ordered baked potato, zucchini, French fries. Upon returning to the room we found NO utensils, no salt, no pepper & no ketchup. I called to ask about this, was told to speak to the mgr. I tried three days, leaving two messages & to no avail, the call wasn't returned. However today, I got a hold of her and straight out of the gate she came at me attacking me verbally. Of course I was highly defensive, no name calling other than she saying I must not have common sense to ask for these items My response, I didn't think it was warranted, rather expected. There in lies common sense that unless you're a Neanderthal you'd rather not eat with your fingers. She told me she didn't want to increase her expenses by providing these items. It's up to the customer to figure out how to eat what they order Being on a road trip, we stopped at an Arby's & guess what... they included in the bag utensils, condiments & napkins. That says a lot- sad to be outdone in service by a fast food chain. She never gave me her name, refused to actually, however did identify herself as the manager & the owner. If this is true... how awful to represent this establishment in this manner. Childish, aggressive, insulting, but most of all aggressively verbally abusive. I would NEVER give this place a penny! Oh that was the other thing, she said " you probably ate everything anyway, so I'll credit you the potato & French fries. I told her I never asked for a refund, I just wanted to make her aware. That was the worst $90.00 I've ever spent!!! My pup did enjoy her burgers Lesson bought, lesson learned. NEVER order take out!!!

On our way back from Boardman, ohio we were looking for somewhere different for an early supper…read more We see Steamers in a little plaza with quite a few cars. So we stopped. This place specializes in seafood. Apparently they have a oyster bar that opens at 3 o'clock. We did not do that. We ordered off the menu. An open face chicken Parm sandwich and shrimp pesto over penne pasta. Both meals were absolutely wonderful. They weren't too much and they weren't skimpy either. Just right for in the middle of the day. The french fries are out of this world. They taste just like my mom used to make when we were kids. That's because they were made out of fresh potatoes like my mom used. They served bread with it also and they were rolls. I believe they were homemade. They had a real nice light sweet taste to them. They also as one of the soups of the day had New England clam chowder that my husband thought was excellent. The place is decorated beautifully. There's lots of room. It's good for just two people to come and eat or if you have an event rehearsal dinner or a little family get together there's plenty of room and it appears they even have an extra outside entrance for events in the side room. The waitress was wonderful. That the menu as you can see from the pictures I posted is really diverse. A lot of different items that you won't see anywhere. For instance there was roast fried green peppers in Oil with bread. I wanted to try that, but I went towards the Parmesan instead. They got a couple different greens dishes too. There's sandwiches Rubens and hamburgers and buffalo chicken sandwiches. And I didn't see any of the salads go near us however they have the regular salads like we find in western Pennsylvania with the french fries and steak on them. The bar looks really nice. They had a beer on tap and had a white selection again. I posted the picture with it. I would come back again when we're passing through it's a must go to place.
