We only had a 10 minute wait so it was busy but not stupid busy. Not upscale and fancy, just casual dining. We tried a place before that and there was a wait just to put your name In. We were glad we came here with only a ten minute wait. Or So we thought. ‍ After being seated, it was almost 10 minutes before anyone came to our table. When the host walked by again, I spoke up. He told the server at the table next to us it's his table who he had no clue. Nobody had told him as he was also the bartender. Anyway he took care of a few things and then came over to take a drink order. We were ready for our full order so glad we put it in and he took it. Fast forward to 45 minutes later and empty drinks when our food finally came. Well, some. ‍ My husband and Is came but not the lobster fest for our son. Some "mixup" in the kitchen. After another 10 minutes his food finally came. Thank goodness he eats fast. lol. Now the food. Everything was great that we had. (Minus the French fries. Very mushy). Went with my mom as she was visiting me from outta town. We were told it was a 20 min wait... Half the restaurant was empty...we thought maybe a bus load was coming in or something...who knows. It is a chain restaurant and the benefit of a chain restaurant is the quality is generally the same from property to property. I had the coconut shrimp and it was good. The cheddar biscuits were extremely salty. Kind of sad as I do look forward to them. The server was very attentive and kind. My friend ordered an item and asked if there were peppers in it an he said no. She ordered and when it arrived there were peppers in it. He apologized and immediately asked what she would like instead. She ended up with the coconut shrimp too. As of 1/27/2024, this is the most poorly managed restaurant I've seen. We started by being quoted a 15 minute wait, and it was 30 minutes. We were then sat in a section with 5 unbused tables around us. The waitress took our order which included a beer. No beer, no food, no update after 20 minutes of being sat down. Just the water and biscuits. The GM walked by during this 20 minutes and said "I'm not doing this" to another employee who seemed to be communicating issues with the restaurant. Guests at an adjacent table complained of not getting sour cream and butter or refills. Having enough, we decided it was in our best interest simply to get up and leave. The waitress finally brought the beer and we asked for the beer to just be comped. The waitress said she wasn't f'ing doing this and would get the manager". The manager then came out. She asked what our issue was. We said we had waited 20 minutes for a beer we had not received. She then insisted that we hadn't waited 25 minutes, but had instead only waited 15 minutes for the beer. She made no attempt to acknowledge or apologize that the service was so poor. She seemed insistent that this was acceptable and not that bad. In the end, she did comp the beer. Honestly, this was one of the strangest experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. No sense of urgency from the hostess, the servers and especially not the GM. Just a poor defeatist attitude. Even walking out, I felt bad for the lobby full of guests destined to have a similar experience to us. I wished her good evening and good luck with the restaurant. I had the new garlic roasted seafood bake. It was amazing! It had 10 scallops that were seasoned well and were very light, 6 jumbo shrimp that was not breaded so the butter on the dish heightened the taste, 8 muscles that were well prepared all on top of crispy potatoes and garlic butter I was stuffed and still wanted more! It was a bit pricy but had leftovers so not so bad My husband had the shrimp. All you can eat, and the waitress made certain she didn't run out of shrimp at all. We went to Red Lobster last night for Crab Fest and were very disappointed in both the food and service. We spent $120 for two people and the best part of the meal was the cheesy biscuits! The crab, which was supposed to be the star of the show, was awful. The legs were the smallest I've ever seen and the meat was stringy and difficult to separate from the shell. But perhaps worst of all, it was badly overcooked. Probably left in a pot of hot water, waiting to be served because it took almost an hour to get our entree. The service was awful. Worst dinner and service ever. We had a reservation and were seated at 5:30. We left at 8:30. The restaurant was not busy. Jennifer was our waitress and didn't seem to want to wait on our table. She even made a comment when my son ordered the all you can eat shrimp special that he was going to make her run all night. At our table, 3 orders were messed up. Then apparently all computers went down so we were unable to order any more from the kitchen. We had to ask what they were going to do for us since we had 3 people who were unable to order any more of the all you can eat shrimp. She ended up taking $5 off then charged us 20% gratuity. Haven't been here in years. The chain is still pumping out the lobster fest at least once a year. We decided to try the day before Valentine's day to beat the rush. It was a busy waiting room. The wait was clocked at 25 min however I don't think the wait to get seated was that long. The waitress was prompt and helpful. I think they are understaffed cause with there was a bunch of empty seats. The staff was busy and the kitchen must have been swamped cause after our soup as salad we waited almost a half hour for our main meal. That is what brought the rating down. I'd saw online it was endless shrimp season and talked the gf into heading over this past Thursday night. She looked at me and asked... "Are we breaking up?" It's a running joke we have because if you ever watch Maury or Jerry Springer some of the best stories start out with the couple being out for a nice romantic meal at The Red Lobster... I grinned and said "Not tonight. If we were I'd have texted you to meet me there." She laughed and said she'd still show up as long as I was paying. Red Lobster's parking lot was packed, but we could see through the windows there were open tables...no line out the front...so those are usually good signs. It was 715 PM on a Thursday night...I thought it would be a decent time to try to get in v. the weekend. We were greeted at the hosting station, told it would be about a 5 min wait while they cleaned tables...and they were true to their word. After we were seated...that's when we met Allie. Our server for the evening... I glanced at the menu and nothing said endless shrimp on it, no insert, nothing on the tables. Allie came over to take our drink orders and I asked "Are you all doing endless shrimp?" She responded with "We are, but it ended at 700 PM. Didn't the manager tell you that when you all came in?" Our faces fell...and there was a long awkward silence... I figured I'd really screwed up. What to do now? Then she dryly said she was just kidding, asked about sides, and then walked off. When she came back we told her we were going to do the endless shrimp. I laughed and joked with her that I wasn't sure if I loved her or hated her right then. She half-smiled and responded rather dryly said "You should tell the guy in the purple shirt you want a different server, and that he should send me home. That would make my night." At this point I was six degrees of flustered. At first I thought it was just me... What did I do? Did I reject you on Match or POF back when I was single? Do I look like one of your exes (because I've had that happen)? I was starting to look around for someone videoing our service. Red Lobster right...not Dick's Last Resort? I wasn't sure if she was being funny or having a really bad night. Her delivery made it really hard to tell. Then I heard her say the same to another table nearby later too. Okay...so it wasn't just me. I got a side salad and when I said blue cheese...it was accompanied with an eye roll. Heather ordered fries with her first order of shrimp. The first two plates came out good...exactly what we had asked for. We told her about one of our previous visits during endless shrimp when we had long waits between fills...except for the last 15 mins when it seemed every server was dropping off whatever at our table...and because of the long waits we just ate whatever was dropped off. I think she took this as permission to duplicate our last trip. I don't think she asked me what I wanted again the rest of the night...scampi, fettucine alfredo, Mediterranean, garlic shrimp on a skewer, hand breaded, Nashville hot shrimp (pretty good new item...sugar and cinnamon dusting on the breading with some heat...chili oil I think), and whatever else they had... I finally had to let Allie know you can bring me whatever you want to, but if you could just bring Heather hand breaded and shrimp scampi that would be great. She was really on top of beverage refills, but throughout the entire meal I felt like I was being punked. Finally towards the end of our meal I tried to catch her with direct eye contact and I asked her in a more serious tone of voice... "Are you okay... Long day or something?" She fessed up...she works two, sometimes three jobs...and had an aggressive physical therapy appointment right before work. It was about 830 PM and she'd been on since 400 PM. My impression was she was just hurting and really wanted to go home. Using sarcasm and humor to mask her pain to get through the shift. I think we've all been there... After we talked the sarcasm level dropped a little. A few minutes later I let her know we were both tapping out and she brought us our bill. $41 and change for two endless shrimp and drinks. When we go out typically when one pays the other tips. I asked her how much she was tipping...she told me $10 and I dropped an additional $5 in. If you choose to take away anything from this... Don't think I'm ragging on Allie. I absolutely loved her once I figured things out...before that even...but that's the same type of a sense of humor I have. It can sure take someone off guard when they're not expecting it... Frankly I think it made Heather's night...she was busy watching me to see how I was going to react...rarely does she see anyone throw me off of my game that much. I can't imagine how much servers hate promotions like endless shrimp. They have to be running their butts off non-stop from clocking in to clocking out. More so when they're hurting and dead on their feet. We need to cut them some slack now and then. read more

Never would I claim that Red Lobster is gourmet seafood or fresh from the ocean. However, when you're in Central Iowa, Red Lobster does serve a purpose. Two of my friends went for Endless Shrimp, as did I. I felt like the kitchen was fairly slow in getting our first orders out, perhaps trying to fill us up on biscuits that were fresh out of the oven as well as our salads. I pretty much waived the salad and declined eating any biscuits at this juncture. Refills were far more prompt and our server let us "break the rules" by filling multiple refills at one time, though you're only supposed to get one refill at a time. I think I ate about 60 shrimp on this tour, including the coconut shrimp bites that aren't featured on the main menu. Total of five refills. Server was engaging and related some stories that were entertaining. Humorously, she was telling us about the kitchen incorrectly filling orders during Endless Shrimp. As she was relating this story, an employee from the kitchen brought out two refills that didn't belong to any of her tables. It made my party laugh. You can apparently get a variant of Endless Shrimp to go--you get four choices along with the normal choice of salad and a side dish. The restaurant was freezing cold, and it wasn't because we were under a fan. It would be appropriate to make some adjustments in this area. read more

When the biscuits finally came out they were doughy and not baked all the way. When I returned them I was told the oven was broken? Waited about another 30 minutes and still no actual meal and still no biscuits. I haven't even touched on the fact that I had to wipe down my own table and saw a bunch of dead insects next to me all over the window sill. Red Lobster has been trying more menu innovations the past few years. Most have been duds with my taste buds. I can't believe people liked the Mexican cheese mix on their fried shrimp. The only thing worse would have been Cheese Wiz on the fried shrimp. They have done a nice job of enticing me in with their rewards club and the 4pm to 6pm daily specials for $15. Was sad to not find it on their limited menu. I didn't want a big heavy meal. there weren't many smaller portion options. so Dad and I sit the seaside shrimp trio, traded shrimp alfredo for crab alfredo. fries and green beans for sides. I always worry about alfredo in restaurants that aren't Italian, this stuff was good! I asked if they had a sweet dipping sauce for the shrimp, and there must be none on the limited menu. A disappointing meal. I ordered their new special "Crab Lovers Dream" but it was not as they pictured it. The snow crab legs were very small and therefore they contained very little meat. I was given one king crab leg when the menu picture showed three large legs. The crab linguine was shown to have several large pieces of crab,but I only had two. Truly the dish wasn't a delight. The salad was equally as disappointing as it was grossly over dressed and my $9.99 glass of wine was not chilled properly and lacked in flavor. The final disappointment was their cult favorite cheddar biscuits, which were dry, hard, tasteless, and not warm.
