My very 1st and last time there! The girl at the front desk was very rude, dismissive and without restraint made it clear that I was not welcomed there! She's from a 3rd world country, in My country, she's the foreigner but was obviously racist towards me! Go figure! This review will be on the customer service.. didn't stay long enough to get serviced. Unfortunately this is the closest nail salon to my home, which sucks because it won't be my go-to. I walked in with the intentions of getting a pedicure. However, when I walked in, not one of the 4 staff members even looked up at me. Not a "hello", "how can I help you", "one moment please" nothing. Despite this, I wrote my name in the book and sat down. I knew for sure someone would address me soon. After sitting, a staff member appeared to be walking toward me, but instead approached an already seated customer and took her to her table. Me and the nail tech made eye contact, even still, I wasn't acknowledged at all. So... I sat and sat... finally. I just got up and walked out. A word to the manager, it is proper practice for staff to greet patrons. It is also proper practice for staff to let patrons know if there's a wait, ask them what they need, etc. There's no wonder this place has poor ratings. Yesterday I had taken my elderly mother to a doctor appointment nearby and she needed a pedicure so I opened Google Maps and located Red Nails 2-minutes away. I called and a pleasant voice said to bring her over immediately no wait. 1st time my mom had ever had a pedicure so she was surprised to be greeted at the door and escorted to a comfy lounge with a deep foot bowl. As she got comfy they filled the tub with scents, soaps, warm water etc and turned on the jets. I returned to the waiting area but kept an eye on her. Afterwards she said she thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had a good time. She said her feet felt 100% better and it was more comfortable to walk. (I had up until this point taken mom to her traditional foot doctor) Anyway, I and mom highly recommend the Red Nails they have excellent staff and new clean equipment read more

They still live in the 90's. They do basic nail stuff. They don't do powder or dip manicures or any type of new school nail designs. Seems like they only cater to the older crowd. No gel pedicures. I mean really. I don't see the point of them being open. read more

I've been to this location several times and the experiences has gotten worse over time. I gave it a try since it's in my neighborhood. In the past 3-4 times I've gone there to get my eyebrows waxed, I was never acknowledged once signing the sign-in sheet. On average, I waited 10-15 minutes before an employee even looked up to see what service I needed. When finally approached, it's always in a nasty and disrespectful tone. "What do you want?" instead of "what would you like today?" or any variation of the sort. I've constantly given this place a try because of it's convenience but I'd much rather go take my business elsewhere. read more

I decided to give this nail salon a shot since I can literally walk to it and grew tired of traveling outside of my neighborhood and passing this place. First plus for me is the fact they are open on Sundays and close at 6:00 p.m. Second plus is they are fairly small which causes me to believe mostly locals frequent this salon so the technicians probably get to know what their regulars expect. I'm a huge dog lover so I did not mind the owners little dog running around, others with allergies or just a desire not to have pets running around may feel this is a problem Overall I am pleased with my nails, the nail tech worked fast yet didn't hurt me, very gentle. Although the gel manicure I got was pretty well done, the customer service was TERRIBLE. No one greeted my mother and I when we came in, and that is a huge turn off for me. Also, there was a dog running around the store, may have been the owners but regardless that workplace should not allow pets. To top it off, one of the technicians kept swatting flies and once he hit one he left it on the floor..he did not even bother to pick it up, GROSS! Would I go back? Probably not. read more

I walked in to at 7:20 pm on a Thursday night and the acknowledgment of my presence was terrible. I didn't even say one word , I am just looking around and one lady says to me "the prices are up there hun!" I am like okay, so I grab a card the lady that's doing pedicure says last appointment is at 7:30 pm. I left out to take a call walked back in to ask about any availability on Saturday if I could make an appointment...they don't "do" appointments....poor service. Worst nail salon. Very rude and slow. They do not greet you at the door. Every time I come here I have a problem and I leave there with my nails looking awful. They never know what they're doing. Great customer service we were going to visit the Dutch Market but we came on the wrong day. So while there Chan and I got pedicures and manicures. Shayla and Mike were great and I no problem going back to Upper Marlboro for nail services. I highly recommend them. read more

All I can say is after reading all of these terrible reviews just brings me back to when I went in a couple of times and one of the ladies had a very very rude disposition and attitude! All she does is talk about customers and gossip. Now there's one lady who was really really nice the younger one is a sweetheart and she also does nails really good... There are only two nail techs or three that are there. The mother and there's another lady there is ignorant too! Now They may try to act nice now that everything is going on. This is the second time I've tried this establishment. Needless to say it'll be my last. My 3 year old goddaughter could've done a better job. The older man that attempted my predicure pretty much washed my feet and literally threw the polish on. My cuticles were not tended to, four out of five nails were half polished and I left with my toes looking crusty around the edges because excess polish was left around my cuticles. I have been here a couple times. It's not the best place, but by far not the worst. I usually get a full set/fill. The nail polish selection is not the greatest or largest selection. They are pretty quick with getting you in and out. I not a fan of the gentleman's work but had not been dissatisfied with the ladies'. This place is convenient for me to get my nails done and satisfied with my nails when I leave. They do have a little dog, Lola, at the salon which is really well behaved but if you don't like dogs, this may not be your place. read more

Overall, Red Nail & Tan was good for a quick fix. They were very timely. I was in and out but did not feel rushed. The cons- it was a bit pricey and the nail color selection was limited. I was a little disappointed that they had more of the cheapy brand nail polish that looks very transparent and requires three or more coats. The staff was nice. Not 100% sure this will be my go to spot, although it is convenient. read more

On yesterday I went to get a fill in. Walked in, sign there log in sheet, no one acknowledge my presence. After signing my name, before I sat down I asked to use the bathroom, she told me she didn't have one. That's when she acknowledged I was there. I said really no bathroom. Had an disgusted look on my face. Wanted to say more but I believe highly in Karma. So she went back to finish attending to her customer. Scratch my name of there sheet and walked out. Went home to use the bathroom. This salon is very convenient for me.(by the Dutch Market) Treat people how you want them to treat you. This is the worst customer service I've experienced from a nail salon. My presence will not be seen here PERIOD !!. After that, I went to the Nail salon on South Crain highway, they were crowded but, they did acknowledge you when you walked in the door. Better customer service and more friendly. I loved the environment and friendliness of the crew, however, when not busy they will shut down early. Although the sign on the door says close at 8:00pm, they locked the door at 7:30. I work in Annapolis and drove by a lot of other nail places knowing that I would be able to get my eyebrows done right down the street from my house. They have no signs up saying they take their last customer at 7:30 or 7:45. I am pretty upset that I now have to wait another day to get my eyebrows done. They do a terrible job but the customer service is even worse. Very nasty rude people work there!!!! Worst place EVER!!! Henry who did my nails, had a terrible attitude from the beginning AND did a terrible job. I had to jerk my hand away a couple of times because he was filing my skin. Then the nails were terribly shaped. I wouldn't let him finish, that is how bad they were. Then when I told the girl that sits at the first station, she wouldn't even look at me when I told her that he did a terrible job. I went ahead and paid and then came back to her and asked her if she heard me, she said yes, but that I walked off and she was waiting for me to come back. I said, you didn't' even look at me or acknowledge me. She just looked at me, Then I said, ok, I'm back, what now? She was very rude and in a sarcastic tone said that she was sorry that I didn't like my nails but that he was one of the most popular nail techs...but he had told me that he just started!!!!
