We came here after reading reviews about how awesome the food was. We set reservations, arrived & promptly seated. The ambience here is relaxing & romantic.. Esp the 2nd floor. The hospitality was great, Arien was a great waitress. We were seated upstairs & was obvious Arien put effort to make sure we were satisfied. Ordered the rotisserie chicken, mash potatoes & house salad. The house salad was superb cold & refreshing. However the rotisserie chicken for both orders was barely room temperature as was the mash potatoes. I do not care for cool- luke warm food neither does my partner. Partner had a long day & did not complain. Returned food to be reheated. Unfortunately food returned was still cold. The food overall was good not great. The Whiskey Sour was scrumptious! The restaurant compensated for the cold dinner with a slice of key lime pie.. Key lime pie from CPT (Cork, Pig Tavern) is always great. Would I come back? Probably not. We were a party of approximately 20 people so first of all, there should have been 2 servers helping us instead of one. You could tell she was overwhelmed because by the looks of it, she was the only server for the people that were seated outside. We were constantly out of drinks, it took almost an hour and a half to get our food and when it finally did come out, quite a bit of the food was cold. Very good porkchops. Two big ass ones cooked to your preference, not dry and pretty well spiced. Rocky Shrimp appetizer was so so...a bit salty. Service decent and good ambience and nice interior. There was a 35 minute wait for a table of two on Thursday (hint get reservations) so we go to the bar after placing our names and had some of the best whiskey sours I've had the delight of sampling in this town. Their basil lemonade also isn't bad. It's a small place so very limited seating and we were set by the door, resulting in no end of consternation for my mother as this resulted in gale like gusts of dry hot Texas wind. Their is also outdoor seating but again who can stand that in this weather. However NONE OF THAT MATTERED because the food was so absolutely amazing. First off we had the nachos with pork, now competition around here for best nachos is fierce but these definitely rank up their. They had a nice crunch with a bunch of toppings and excellent (read judicious) use of cilantro. I have no idea how good the beef was but it couldn't have possibly been as tasty as the pork, which was both well cooked and seasoned. I got the ribeye, now this is the one caveat of the evening as they drench it in a teriyaki like sauce which totally obscures the taste of the meat. Be forewarned anyone who may want a ribeye as they do not mention this sauce in the menu, only that it is marinated. Well the first time the steak comes it's rare and I requested medium rare, and the 2nd time it comes back well cooked but to my dismay the teriyaki sauce had carmelized on the steak making even sweeter and more unpalatable. But thank god for their manager, such a nice lady she saw the trouble I was having and asked how the steak was. When I admitted to her I was less than a fan she asked if I'd rather just have the prime rib. When the prime rib came out it was excellent, succulent and juicy with an entire cup of broth on the side it totally made up for the earlier steak nonsense. Not to mention when it came to the bill she was nice enough to comp both items. Everyone else loved their food, the pig pizza is as usual great and the ahi tuna salad had some nice fish as well. The best (besides my prime rib) was the Baja fish tacos which were just unbelievably moist and delectable bits of fish with just the right balance of crispness from the cooking crust. When mixed with all the toppings (it's make your own style) you can get some really yummy and interesting flavor profiles. Finally I had been here once before and gotten the burger which was surprise, super delicious. So basically with the exception of the steak everything here is simply incredible and since they are a scratch kitchen I can feel comfortable knowing that it's not some reheated from frozen mass produced garbage like some other places from around here. And she said they are thinking about removing the teriyaki sauce from the steak altogether so once they do that this will be the best place in town. (I hope they go with a herbed compote butter on top with different styles) So in summation this place is currently one of the best in Odessa, and most of the items are pretty reasonably priced for the quality food your getting (I mean the burger is only a couple dollars more than Texas burger which although good, isn't even in the same stratosphere of flavor). So give it a shot if you haven't, although I advise take outs less you call ahead first of get a reservation. Btw the French dip isn't the best, at least compared to the burger. Bring back the good fish taco sauce!!! That shitty barbecue sauce sucks read more

Through all my travels, Red Oak is one of my favorite diners. The menu is simple, yet creative and solid. I would recommend the trio dip and cornbread for appetizers. The fish is always fresh, and the Ahi Tuna salad is one of the best I've ever had. The fish tacos are always on point regardless of the fish selection. They rarely have sea bass, but when they do it's a can't miss meal. The draft beer is unique. Dallas Blonde is always available which is always a plus. Found this place during a cross country trip from the west to the east coast. Convenient, nice place...oour GPS had a little problem finding it. Ate outside with our dog on a nice Tuesday evening. Service was reasonably good although a bit slow. But the wait was worth it. Ordered the Fried Cauliflower, Mexican Burger and Pig Pizza. The Cauliflower was excellent, not overcooked and delicious. The Mexican Burger was done to my wife's liking and rated it good. I thought the pizza was very good and more then enough for 2 people. The mango and mint make this salad stand out. I recently tried to replicate this salad for a gathering of friends and they loved it. One of my favorite places in Odessa/Midland. The trio dip, deviled eggs, salmon, and crab cakes are some of my favs.

This was my first experience here and I'll just say, I am not convinced it deserves another visit, let me explain. I arrived around 11:20 and was greeted by friendly host staff who said it'll be about 25 minutes, and they were right. I was seated upstairs in a small table. I loved the way they decorated and the low lighting made it feel warm and cozy. The waitress was great, no issues there. I ordered the prime rib hash which is supposed to have prime rib, potatoes eggs and cheese. It was soupy, as if the added the au jus to the bottom of the dish, it was off putting to say the least. The prime rib pieces were smaller than the dog kibble I buy for my pets, and very few in between, I do not recommend this dish. I also ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes... those pancakes is what deserves the 3 stars, they were excellent. While I have no intention on returning here, I would recommend this place to pancake lovers, you gotta try those lemon ricotta pancakes. read more

Been eating here for a couple of years and food has always been delicious. Went today with customer telling him how good it was, he had never been, and that he was in for a treat. Well how wrong was I. First had to wait, normal, seated upstairs which is fine, waited 10 minutes for someone to show up and take our drink order. We gave drink order and food order at same time. Appetizers came out quick along with drinks. I noticed on menu that things had changed somewhat. No burger with egg on it, rotisserie chicken doesn't have potatoes anymore and some kind of new sauce. Wife went with rotisserie chicken with my recommendation, I had enchiladas and customer had Baja fish tacos. Wife took 2 bites of chicken and couldn't eat anymore, I took a bite and chicken was ok but sauce had strange flavor, not the old delicious flavor it used to have. Wasted $19. I had enchiladas for first time, just ok. My customer had Baja fish that I recommended and he ate most of it but on the way out he said he would not be back. Sad to see they changed their ingredients for the food and sides but I guess this is life. Won't be going back or recommending again. read more

I actually love the food at red oak BUT don't go if you are having a girls day/night because they'll cut you off after two glasses of wine (weird since they sell them by the bottle). After a nice brunch and having two glasses of wine over a period of four hours, we were told our new server would be with us shortly. We waited for an hour and then decided to go inside. That's when we were informed we had been cut off. Luckily, I have a few friends that work there and I was told that the manager is notorious for cutting women off after just a couple glasses... but let's men drink as much as their hearts desire. (Weird right?) Idk, I can't say that I've had a bad experience prior to this but I can say that it matters who represents and manages your restaurant. When you have someone cutting off a couple of women after two drinks yet will be happy to serve alcohol to men (on the house) when they are past the point of being belligerent, you may have some bad reviews. Anyways, great food, good drinks, maybe change your management since it's 2021. read more

The environment is unique, trendy, and modern. They have sitting upstairs and they have a patio. I was greeted many times by the staff and they were very attentive and overall the service is a 10. The food was delicious and nice hot spot for Odessa. New businesses are coming through and this restaurant is the best!! The prime rib was very good and they accommodated my 8 year old with letting him order from the adult menu, and he loved the Salmon and Mac and Cheese. The deviled egg appetizers are huge. This is a great place to eat with friends & family and to bring work clients for business brunch, lunch or dinner!! Finding quality restaurants in Midland / Odessa can be challenging to say the least and when you find one that meets all three qualities you have to recognize it!
