Disgusting dinner experience. So much broken vehicle window glass in the parking lot. Saw at least 5 parking spots filled with glass. Took a table in the enclosed patio. The table was full of flies. There was food on the ground that attracted them there. The cocktail I ordered had little to no alcohol in it. We ordered the rock shrimp appetizer, but it never arrived until we finished our meals. The waitress never refilled our drinks. The steak salad was very small and they were out of the cheese on top. The enchiladas were very good. Even though there was no egg on it like I read others received. We won't be back here again. read more

We came here after sitting outside at Cork and Pig waiting for a server for close to 15 min on a Tuesday night. The service here was fast and our waiter, Adam, was awesome. We tried the trio dip and were pleased with all three dips- guacamole, trout dip, and pimento cheese queso. My mom and I shared the fish tacos, which were awesome. My dad got the chicken sandwich; it was a huge serving. My husband got the pig pizza and he absolutely loved it. If you want good food with even better service, come here. read more

We really enjoyed our visit here. My wife's filet salad was incredible. The meat rivaled some of the best steakhouses in the country as far as tenderness and flavor goes. My Mexico City enchiladas were great too. The pics I looked at led me to believe that it was a mole sauce, but that was my fault for assuming. It was a deep colored chile sauce that was very tasty! Just visiting Odessa for a day and decided to eat here for dinner as a last resort, as Cork and Pig's wait was too long. This place is a hidden gem! Service was great and quick, and we received our food within ten minutes of ordering! I got the rotisserie chicken and it was very good. This is my second visit to Red Oak. Both times were terrific. Tuna salad with dressing on the side was fantastic. The top shelf margaritas are outstanding and I really enjoy the outside dining area to get away from the TVs, AC and enjoy the good weather. Delish! I took my mom their for brunch. We had a carafe of mimosas. She had chicken and waffles! And I had the huevos rancheros. Both were wonderful. Great atmosphere and affordable. The 20 minute wait for a table was well worth it. Even as busy as they were during the lunch rush, the service was on time, friendly, and excellent all around. The food was even better. I could rave continuously about how excellent this place is in every single aspect. Upon pulling up, it is easy to miss and may not look like much from the outside, but once you step inside the ambience is unlike anywhere else in West Texas. We were greeted immediately and given the option to sit upstairs or downstairs and we told the employee we had never been before (and we had our 10 month old) so he chose to sit us downstairs within feet of the kitchen and fire grilled rotisserie, which smells AMAZING, by the way! Unfortunately I forgot our servers name but he was so incredibly personable, informative and helpful! This restaurant delivers all of their food fresh to the their customers, nothing is frozen or old and it's obvious once you eat it. We had the Baja fish tacos which were made with Hebi fish that day...OH MY GOSH! Seriously THE BEST fish tacos we've ever had (and I'm not a fish person!). The fish tacos were served with a spicy mayo like sauce in addition to a slaw that completed them perfectly. Typically the tacos come with green rice and black beans but my husband opted for the house made potato chips- excellent choice! We also got a plate of the prime rib tacos. These tacos were hearty slices of prime rib marinated in a delicious Spanish sauce that tasted reminiscent of chorizo, with white and green onions in addition to the spicy mayo, green rice and black beans AND a side of house made salsa. We had zero complaints. This place does brunch on the weekends and we dying to come back to try it out!! You MUST check this place out! Updated to add: We had one visit where the food was just abnormally "off", everything seemed to suffer in one way or another. We didn't complain during or after our meal as we were not seeking any kind of compensation, and I instead wrote them a message on Facebook expressing my concern for the dip in quality. The manager responded with a true sense of respect and gracefulness that one doesn't usually receive from a restaurant that you've complained to. She let me know that they sincerely valued my insight and they would actively work to correct the issues. We were unable to return for some time, but when we did, we noted that the head chef was in the kitchen actively coaching and teaching the chefs, it was remarkable and admirable. This is my favorite place to eat in the basin. The atmosphere is nice and the food is really, really good. I recommend getting the trio dip to start. I'm generally not a fan of pimento cheese, but there's something about the way they do it that makes me like it. I think pizza is what they do best. The crust is delicious. The pig pizza is my favorite out of all of them. Upstairs seating is just fine, however, some of the tables are right by a TV. Although the sound isn't going, the brightness and distraction of the screen can take away from the experience. First of all Mac and Cheese. Even if you're only coming in to use the restroom get the mac and cheese. It's he best I've ever had anywhere. Second, see what their fish of the day is. It's flown in fresh from Hawaii and never disappoints. Chicken sandwich, get it. They have a wood fired grill with rotisserie that's so good the cork and pig borrow/buy their chicken. Third, The Pig pizza, order it now. Service is always on point. Food is damn good even the salads are unique and some of the best I've ever had. My only complaint, serious lack of dessert options. We recently went for weekend brunch and ordered crispy rock shrimp and wings for appetizer and I ordered Chicken and waffles. Best: Chicken and waffles order was huge, but tasty. Chicken was seasoned and cooked well. I will order this again next time. Good: Crispy rock shrimp order was huge. It was crispy and tasty BUT I found the pieces "heavily floured". After eating a few, I got flour taste in my mouth. May be using a lighter/less flour will make it better. Wings are spicy and good, but I"m not a big fan of wings with bones. My wife order the roasted chicken and it was raw and bleeding on the plate carefully hidden by the chicken. The waitress never offered to replace the order or make it right. The manger only offered to take 50% of that order until we pushed back stating that we were not paying for food that was inedible. She finally agreed to take that order (the chicken) off the bill. She acted like we were an inconvenience and just dropped the check at the table. Not to mention the fact that we now have to watch for signs of salmonella poisoning. read more

Totally disappointed. Came in on a mainly positive yelp review but what a shocker!!! With the help of the server I order a custom pizza with veggies. I was told that my pizza would be loaded with veggies and topped with plenty of arugula. What was brought to my table got me dumbfounded. It was an ordinary cheese mushroom pizza with a couple of shredded spinach and basil for which I was charged a $1.00 for each. There were no red bell pepper at all but I was charged a $ 1.00 for it and no red onions in sight or taste but still was charged $0.50. In all my experiences at restaurants, when my request cannot be met, I was told and the final choice was left to me. Not so here, I was told about the lack of vegetables as the pizza was set before me. It is my opinion that these workers need to be better trained in the service industry. This cannot and should not happen in an established reputable food service industry. Service should be the star and not the amount of tip that should be given which is clearly printed on the bill starting from 15%, to 20%. read more

My friends and I had brunch at Red Oak Kitchen this morning. The outside shaded seating was wonderful and our waitress was great! Two of my friends ordered the fried chicken and waffles, which was larger than we expected (could be split between two people), another had the lemon ricotta pancakes (large portion, pretty good), and I had the prime rib hash. Overall the food was good, but a little pricy. The fried chicken was really salty but the maple syrup and butter helped balance it out a little. The prime rib hash was small, but filling. I got it with an egg over medium, and it was cooked perfectly! The prime rib was juicy and flavorful but there were very few potatoes in my hash. read more

Service was pretty good, our waitress was seriously over worked so several of us went with empty glasses for extended periods; but she was super friendly, very courteous and her suggestions were spot on. I appreciate the job she did but clearly had a lot going on, maybe they need additional staff for weekend shifts. Appetizers ranged from excellent (rock shrimp) to meh nachos I've had better nachos at the ballpark and they're not exactly inexpensive. Beer and wine selection is good, but getting a refill seemed to take forever, again poor over worked waitress. Entree was meh, as were the portion sizes, tiny sliver of salmon 3-4 smallish bits of broccoli, a total rip off, my prime rib sandwich was also snack sized, it was tasty; though my ceasar salad had all manner of black wilted poor quality/old lettuce clearly not fresh or likely even made today and later that evening my stomach was really sick, I really should have sent that back. Worse our food came out in staggered amounts, one of our colleagues waited 15 or more minutes before getting his food, this proves this place needs be better managed. Waitress was great, everything else was average to mediocre, and it was very slow service wise. Food unmemorable, and downright disgusting in the case of my salad. Far better restaurant next door, I'd suggest just skipping this place and going to the place next door it rocks. So unless you want slow service, food that doesn't taste fresh, and skimpy portions at premium prices I think you'd be better served elsewhere. Serious room for improvement but give the waitress a gold star for her efforts. read more

Came here for the first time on Sunday 7/17/2016. The place looks outstanding, very cozy, they had the mood lighting going on. Staff was very friendly, and good looking girls dining. I started with a cappuccino with was amazing!!! OMG this was delicious. I ordered the New Mexico Burger, my buddy had a double pork chop with vegetables. I enjoyed that burger & cappuccino so much I was craving it all day at work. I ended up working late but saw that they closed at 10PM. I hurried home, showered and fm raced over there. Got there at 9:30PM. Exactly 15 minutes before the kitchen closed. The chef was eager to take my order. Awesome. But the bar, which makes the cappuccinos, had already cleaned the cappuccino machine and refused to make me one. So this just ruined everything. I was going to saw screw it and leave, because I really wanted that cappuccino. It was THAT good. But, I stayed because the chef was excited about making my burger. Which just arrived. Will I come back? Maybe. Food is good. I'm just pretty disappointed that they wouldn't make me my Capp with 30 minutes left until closing time. Pretty sad service on behalf of the bar I think. I really like this restaurant . Owned by the same people as The Cork and Pig Tavern but a totally different vibe . They have some items on their menu like the C&P but it is its own niche in the food world . I love coming here for brunch and dinner . I was a little disappointed they didn't offer any alternative milk choices , soya is something that is literally everywhere and for those of us with lactose intolerance (which is a huge majority ) it would be nice . Other than that one detail everything from the atmosphere, service to food and drink are fab. read more
