New menu alert! I was sad to see some of the favorites we've come to know be gone! This used to be more of a true steak house - but it's evolved a bit. The service was fine - not over the top - but it was Friday night....i love the atmosphere here - so I will come back and hope maybe they upgraded the food a bit. The chicken pot pie was weird with a sourdough bread bowl - the steak frites seemed like frozen fries and the siracha sauce didn't do much for the dish....i enjoyed my steak tip dinner though! The pub is under new ownership the food is absolutely disgusting meatloaf had congealed gravy on it steak tips had a sour taste chicken wings dry and hard i just couldn't believe it our server was very pleasant but we had two tables and the second server was a no show had to go to the bar after being seated for dinner to get drink refills they are not attentive to kids was is a downfall because they are 10 minutes from storyland. Yummy food but they were so busy they forgot one of our food main dish orders. A bit of a wait for dinner. My fish and potatoes were standard and fresh. So the apparently this was sold two weeks ago. I have to say our meals were great (salmon, steak tips and prime rib). We walked over to the pub for some music and drink and I have to say the servers were HORRIBLE!! She has been rude, greets us with "what do you want" (I guess we bothered her from texting on her phone) and then when she brought the espresso martini's they tasted like watered down coffee and we ask for a new drink since these where undrinkable and her reason was different bartenders made them which is inexcusable. Had to go up to the bar to try to get new drinks to then have cosmos made that again undrinkable. Just horrible and this new owner needs to really reevaluate the staff. The pub waitress we had was Cassie. And honestly they need training on how to attend to patrons. BTW this is what a cosmo should be read more

We've been coming here on vacations for over 30 years and this place is a staple in the area. I wish I could give it a higher rating. Open very limited hours during the winter which isn't the restaurant's fault but food isn't all that great. Ribs were average and the salad was fine. The mud pie is the biggest attraction here (like a few other restaurants in the area) and is worth coming just for that. It was pretty empty on a weekday evening in winter. Can't believe I'm writing my first Yelp review on this particular restaurant. It had been a few years since I'd been there for dinner. Wait person told me there is a new owner. Everything changed. They had an 8 ounce steak and tips available. Place used to be known for their steaks and prime rib. We didn't order appetizers. After ordering, the order of tips with mashed and vegetables came just like warm. My friend ordered a cheese steak sub. What he got was some mediocre steak on a greasy sponge of a roll. I ate the tips and stopped. He ate 1/3 of his steak but the bread was inedible. I've boasted about this place since my high school days in the 80s. Wow! Amazing food and above and beyond service!!!! I ordered the Prime Rib (Fri and Sat special) and my boyfriend ordered the NY sirloin. Our waiter- I didn't catch his name and he wasn't wearing a name tag- made sure to check that the prime rib would be cooked to my liking before finalizing my order. As a person who likes rare red meat- this is always super appreciated! When our meals came out the waiter explained that the kitchen had accidentally cooked the same sides as my boyfriend for me and he brought out the veggies I had ordered on a small dish. I really liked that he had already noticed and fixed the problem before bringing my food to the table! I have never had that happen in a restaurant and I was impressed! The meal was perfection- I ate everything except the plain potato which was the extra side brought to me by mistake. My favorite side was the baked potato with the cheese and spices mixed in. WOW. I will be experimenting in my own kitchen to try to recreate that amazing side!!!!! At the end of the meal my boyfriend found a small piece of plastic in his potato's - since we've both worked in the restaurant business we both know things like this happen sometimes. We alerted our waiter so that he could let the staff know. We were again so impressed at his quick remedy and hospitality. He took our drinks off the tab ( just sodas), informed us of how the issue happened, and apologized on behalf of the restaurant. The waiter then brought us our check- but surprise! We wanted desert! He put in our order for two brownie sundaes and offered them on the house to continue to remedy the error in the potatoes. The deserts were AMAZING! Brownie sundae perfection! I will definitely be returning to this restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was the most excellent service I have had in a restaurant probably ever. I wish I had caught that servers name so I could sing praises upon praises! Much to my disappointment I was in between 2 and 3 stars as of my last trip here. I had been before a year ago and while it was outstanding, it was good. However, my trip here this weekend was not ideal. After a 40 minute wait (which is not a big deal because it was a busy weekend night) we got sat in an almost empty dining room and proceeded to wait another almost 20 minutes for anyone to stop by. I am understanding of a lack of staff or busy night but it was like we were being avoided like the plague. Despite this, we got our drinks and they were delicious, the Winter Evening, especially. This was about the highlight of the night, the Caesar salad was lacking and the mozzarella sticks were microwaved and still cold. The pulled pork sandwich was fine, edible but lacking in any flavor. We were at the bar, and the bartenders were so rude and not attentive to their customers. We felt invisible. We also witnessed many customers bypassed and not acknowledged in a very small bar. They laughed at us when we asked for water. One bartender called out our tip, suggesting it was too low. Servers need to earn their tips and not expect that just their presence deserves a 20% tip. Respect and interact with your customers, and you will have a more enjoyable job and earn a better salary. These gentlemen clearly don't like their jobs. read more
