Scam Artists. I made a take out order for 2 curries and only received 1 box of rice. I thought it was a mistake and pointed it out to the manager at the front desk. He mentioned that that is the way it comes. I told him all other Indian places provide 1 box per curry and he just said I can buy another for $3. Also, he's a middle-aged North Indian guy who is the manager but pretends that he's not the manager when you ask: "I want to speak to a manager." Another thing, when I got home, the chicken tikka box was SMALLER and barely had any chicken. We basically got scraps from the buffet. We wound up cooking rice for my children when I arrived home and they had to wait until it was done. Never going to this scam place again. read more

I have been wanting to try this restaurant out for months. The other night I stopped in to order take out. The staff was really friendly and the food only took about 10 min. My boyfriend and I loved the food. We had a the tandoori chicken and a spinach and lamb dish. I ordered them as med. heat and the food was pretty spicy though. Yay! So happy that I found a very good Indian place that delivers to my apartment! I was so thrilled to learn that they delivered to Westfield. I am a huge fan of the Lamb Vindaloo, mild though. I've never been there for the buffet but I saw the end of it once and there seemed to be a good variety. This is our go-to Indian place in the area and is so much better than Raagini. The servers are friendly, attentive, know the menu and don't rush you. Great food and great nan and not to mention their buffet is priced great. Friendly service. They change the items on the menu often to spice things up. They refill your glasses often. Two things that will help them get five stars: Some times they do not refill the food fast enough. So you have to get multiple times which is a pain. The selection is some what small. read more

Per usual, you call and they tell you the food will be ready in 30 minutes and then they make you wait 45 minutes in the restaurant when you come up to pick up your food. So my wife and I had dinner a while back at the previous restaurant before Red Pepper. The food was good and we ordered take out a few times before it changed owners to Red Pepper. The food at Red Pepper then was terrible. We started frequenting Raagini although a little pricey and further away the food is generally excellent. I read a recent review of Red Pepper and decided to try it again. Wow what a change. The Paneer Makini was creamy and spicy, vegggie pakoras were crispy and tasty, onion kulcha was tasty and roti was excellent. I highly recommend. I used to live in Jersey City and frequented Rasoi. This food is on par with Rasoi. Happy that there is another food choice for Indian food in my area. read more

Big disappointment. Tawa Tikka had no sauce or curry and had no taste. Aloo channa papdi chaat was sweet and the channa in it was very cold. Methi paratha had methi powder sprinkled all over it. I have never had such kind of Methi paratha. The only taste that chicken biryani had was of red chilli powder. We are never ever going back here again. read more

OK, so I just got back from their Lunch Buffet. Went with my wife and two adult sons. We're all fans of Indian foods and have eaten at many of the local establishments. We now have our new favorite, "Red Pepper". For just $7.95 per person we had a huge choice of veg and non-veg dishes, everything from salads thru desserts, fresh hot nan made to order and brought to the table, super friendly service, and a clean attractive dining room. And each dish we tried was wonderfully prepared & presented. What more could you possibly want? The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is the fact that we only had the buffet. For 5 we'd have to check out the dinner service first. We were told the buffet dishes change daily and the same price holds for weekends as well. I know we'll be going back as long as it stays as good as it currently is. If you're currently doing the Nelam/Muskan buffets, give this one a shot, you won't be disappointed. UPDATE: Along with my wife and two adult sons, we've been eating there weekly for over two months now. We all agree that it's a great place to get together with wonderful food and great service. And since "Dad" gets to pick up the bill, I'm not complaining. Its very reasonable and the staff is friendly and attentive. Lots to pick from on the buffet and the dishes change all the time. The food are ok, the service is terrible. I won't be eating there again. I had their take-out food in a friend's house a few weeks before we went. I really like this vegetable dish that was meatball alike veggie-balls in creamy sauce. But I didn't remember the name of the dish. So when I got there, I discribed the dish to the waiter. He asked me what color is the dish, I told him that the veggie-balls are brown colors. He said that we don't have any dish like that and I don't know what you are talking about. He was so annoyinged with me for asking. He never bothered to think about what I have to say. Needless to say, I never got the dish. Loved the food we started with the Samosa and had an unbelievable appetizer, Fish Pakora. Highly recommend it, was crispy and still moist and full of flavor. For entrees we had Chicken Tiki Masala, Shrimp Tandoori and a Lamb Curry. All deliciously comfortable -we asked for hot and the heat did not disappoint. Chunks of chicken were tender not dried out, the lamb was succulent and the sauces for both were addictive over the rice. I've just been on a kick to try out places that I've driven past and haven't gotten a chance to try. I had the ultimate craving for some roti and who makes roti better than an Indian chef right? I didn't have a menu and I was on the road so I decided to drop by here for a order of roti. I ordered Lamb Tikki Masala with rice and a side of roti. I got home and couldn't wait to dive in to my meal. Upon opening my order of rice I did find a just sitting at the top of it. I kindly cut that piece out and threw it away, I wasn't about to drive back there to rectify the situation. It seems as if this place does a huge take out business, so I'm going to chalk this up to an error. Well I will say that the lamb was good but felt a little tough. The sauce was out of this world though. That's what I feel made the meal. I did feel that the amount of lamb was lacking for the price. Maybe you get more if you dine in? ive been going with my fiancee and her family for the past couple of years now. i love this place. the 9 buck sunday buffet is great. the tandoori chicken is outstanding as well as (i forgot the name off hand) is the cauliflower that has a general tso's sort of taste to it.. been there for dinner too. the ginger chicken, chicken tikka and tikka masala are three of my favourites. also the samosas and garlic naan. its also byob too and the prices are great. very friendly and attentive staff as well. havent had a bad experience ever! read more

Favorite indian restaurant by far in the area! We always are treated extremely well (probably because we come so often lol). The head waiter (who is the owner's brother) always gives us great service, as do the other waiters. if you enjoy ordering spicy they will always oblige and they do not skimp on the heat! Although i've gone with friends who can't eat spicy and they still enjoyed it while ordering their food mild. Last time i went they had some fresh baby goat and it was delicious! If you like trying different lamb, goat and even the normal chicken dishes you are used to at most indian restaurants you will surely enjoy! OK let me start off by saying the food is pretty good. But the problem is the head waiter/cashier is very rude if your not indian!!!! I came for lunch on a busy Friday and he wouldn't even look up! Once I got his attention he yell no more tables. Now the thing that bothers me is I know he recognize me because I recognize him.
