While vacationing in Salt Lake City, we used Yelp to find a restaurant with enough variety for everyone in our group. Red Rock Brewing Company had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try--and we're so glad we did! Finding the entrance was a little confusing at first. We initially thought the neighboring building with the brewing sign was the restaurant, but the entrance is next door by the "Beer Store" sign, with "Red Rock" above it. There appeared to be parking behind the restaurant, but we parked in the lot beside it and had to pay $13.50. We loved the variety on the menu. Our group ordered the mozzarella sticks , pepperoni pizza, chicken pot pie, and chicken Parmesan, and everything was great. The chicken Parmesan was definitely our favorite. I'm not usually a big chicken Parmesan fan, but this one was absolutely delicious--I'm still thinking about it! Our waiter was friendly, and we were seated very quickly. In SLC for the night I had dinner at this brewery. Big selection of food and beers, the burger is kinda of a surprise since is wrapped not by the usual bun you expect but by a sort of thick pita bread. Worth to try. Gets busy for sure but the turnover is fast enough to get a table or a bar seat fairly quickly. Will be back read more

My sister and I came here for dinner one night when we were in town visiting SLC. We started with a couple drinks and shared the bruschetta as an appetizer. Drinks were good app was okay. For dinner we split the superfood salad and mushroom pizza. Again both good - but nothing noteworthy for either one. We sat outside and it was nice but I almost think our server forgot about our table? We had been finished for about 15 minutes and we ended up having to get the attention of another server to close the tab with ours. I know stuff happens and we were in no rush so it wasn't a huge deal just not ideal. Good pick if you need something casual with some staple foods. read more

I very much enjoyed my meal at Red Rock downtown. I eat a strictly vegan diet and the black bean burger was one of the best I ever had! We also ordered the double dip appetizer which was just as delicious - 2 dips: Muhumarra and Baba Ghanoush. We live near New York and in SLC vegetarian dishes have been scarce. I might come back to SLC just for that burger. My husband loved his salmon too! read more

We got a text, and by the time we walked back inside we were rudely advised that our table was given away as we didn't get to the hostess stand in time. It literally took us about 2 minutes from the time we got the text to the time we got to the hostess stand. Both girls at the hostess stand were rude and unfriendly. I get that it was a busy Friday night, but this behavior was uncalled for. We definitely will not be back to this location. read more

Service was great- very attentive and friendly! The food is expensive in my opinion. I enjoyed the garlic basil dressing on the salad and that it had a lot of fresh veggies in it- nothing was too wilty. The celery that came with the wings had unappetizing brown marks on it and the blue cheese was more watery than I'd have liked. The wing quantity was generous (but I would expect that when paying $19) but I was a bit underwhelmed by the wings themselves. They were lightly breaded and I wish there was more meat to them. The sauce didn't stick on much so I found myself sopping things up manually tog et the flavors I wanted. All in all it was decent but I can't say this is a place I'd jump to return to. read more

This is the second time I've been to this location while on business in SLC. There's never a long wait even when they're busy. I arrived during dinner time and only had to wait 15 minutes for a single seat. Service came quickly. I just ordered a diet soda and my food. I ordered the grilled salmon with sweet potato waffle fries. Food came out relatively fast. My only complaint tonight was the waffle fries should've been on a separate plate or the food should've been plated better the salmon had a lot of water on the plate or some kind of juice because it's soaked into all the waffle fries, and they no longer were crispy. They were a soggy mess and tasted like salmon juice. I didn't feel like asking for new ones so I ate the salmon and a couple of the fries on top. Left a 20% tip, but I'm not sure I'll be back. There's a lot of restaurants to choose from in this area of downtown Salt Lake. I'm curious to see what else is out there. I'm sure there are better options. read more

This place was alright! We came here based on a local friend's recommendation, with said local friend. He was touting the beer and wood-fired pizzas so we gave those a try. We split the arugula & prosciutto and wild mushroom pizzas, as well as the French onion steak sandwich. Everything we tried was decent. The pizzas were a little unwieldy with how the slices were flipping and the toppings were sliding off. But everything taste-wise was alright. The atmosphere is bright but still kind of moody in a cool way, with lots of seating. Parking was a bit of a struggle. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is an interesting mix of casual wood fored pizza with and unusual Mediterranean twist. Still not clear how the 2 mix. If staying in a downtown hotel, easy walk or ride share for access. The pizza is underrated! Quality toppings, wood fire pizza oven, and perfect size for an individual. They are generous with the toppings so it's very filling. I stopped in for a pizza and pint after a long work day. Had the BBQ chicken pizza and the Red Rock Amber. Great beer, hoppy but not overly so (not a huge fan of IPA's but love a good beer). Such a cool brewery! Not only do they offer all their own amazing beers, but they also have great options for seltzers and ciders, making it a well-rounded spot for everyone. The bruschetta was a pleasant surprise--way more than just the simple tomatoes and basil on bread I was expecting. It came with two perfectly roasted garlic bulbs, super flavorful seasoned tomatoes and basil, and a generous ball of creamy goat cheese. The bread was toasted just right with melted cheese, bringing everything together into a delicious, savory bite. What started as a small snack ended up being a perfect lunch. I'm typically a patient guest and prefer to have less interruptions from servers, but our visit this time was extremely bad. My last visit to Red Rock Brewing will most likely be my last, period. It hurts my heart leaving a 1-star review but it feels necessary. My burger's bottom bun was so soggy it was inedible. And both my burger and my fries were cold which wasn't surprising since we waited 24 minutes for our food. The burger lacked a lot of flavor (despite being the weekly special) and the fries were under seasoned and oily. Our server didn't pay much attention to us and never asked how our food was. Another cool brewery in the downtown SLC area. It is within walking distance to Delta Center and several other breweries and restaurants in the area. They have a good selection of beers, but I'm a sucker for an old fashioned, so I got their sugar hood old fashioned. It was pretty strong, but had a nice taste and was really good. My buddies got some of their beers and they said it tasted fine. We just got an artichoke dip because we had already eaten earlier, but the menu looked like it had a good variety to choose from. Time for a update review. My son prefers this location to fashion place mall but I think they are both fine. Great drink and daily beer specials at both locations. This place can get busy since I noticed a lot of convention goers coming in also being downtown with very little places to park. Service is good kinda slow even though we know the menu we know what we want. The bruscheta is really good and so is the reuben and the Cobb salad. You can't go wrong on any of the pizzas. This was a good option and walking distance to our hotel, and after a long day of meetings, I ordered the Mac n Cheese mostly because it came with Garlic Bread! I will say everything should come with Garlic Bread. The Mac N Cheese was delicious. I really didn't like the beer I had with my meal either, but that's a matter of taste, not the brewery. If you are in Downtown Salt Lake, you have to visit this place. Is just a one stop shop. Great environment, outstanding beer and yes, they have bottles as well, so you don't have to deal with the local restrictions of alcohol % in draft beer. And to compliment that, amazing food. A real firewood pizza oven, great streaks, sandwiches and appetizers and many other options. I need to add, everything is priced extremely reasonable. The service is on point. The bartenders are very attentive and genuine. They accommodated all my request, including my request for sliced fresh spicy peppers from the kitchen, and everything was done with a smile. I really enjoy my meal and the time spent here. Keep it up. I come to Salt Lake on business, at least 3 times a year, and I'm planning to make this one of my favs while in town. Great job!!!
