Oquirrh is a fantastic restaurant. It can be tough to get reservations, but well worth it The building is not your normal restaurant that is more of a house that can be tough to find. Then there are not a lot of seats inside with a small bar. Service was outstanding and very friendly. They do not have a large wine list, but we found a good bottle of red. The menu is not large either, but everyone in our party of 4 loved everything. For appetizers, we had the sourdough bread, a cheese course, and something called milk-braised potatoes. The bread was delicious and absolutely worth it. Then we all devoured the cheeses--all three were wonderful (for one, we got name and chased it down and bought more the next day. Then the potatoes were unusual but really tasty. They had a great flavor and the vinaigrette that was used was so special. Absolutely worth having. For the main course, I had the pork chop. One of the best if not the best I have ever had. It was cooked well, but still juicy and flavorful. Then I loved the mash and mushrooms that were with it. Others loved the ribeye and the fish. Everything was perfect. I was kind of full, but had bread pudding for dessert. This was excellent as well, but also very filling. Definitely worth visiting!

The chicken pot pie was incredible.

What an exquisite experience. The restaurant is intimate and cozy, with world-class staff, a thoughtful menu, and owners who clearly care about every detail. They source most of their ingredients locally and approach preparation with creativity and a real mindfulness about waste. You can taste that intention in every dish. You absolutely have to try the milk-braised potato. It's one of those rare dishes that surprises you with how deeply satisfying it is: simple in concept, executed perfectly, and completely memorable. The chicken pot pie is another standout. A beautifully roasted drumstick crowns the pastry; you lift it out to let the pie cool (and you'll need to because it arrives piping hot). It's a winter special available only through the end of February, and it truly feels special. The flavors are rich and comforting, yet refined. It delivers that sense of home while showcasing genuine culinary skill and artistry. The bar program is excellent, and they also offer a full fridge of thoughtful non-alcoholic options, which I appreciated. I visited with colleagues while attending a conference down the street, and everyone agreed it was a fantastic dinner choice. If you're planning to go, make a reservation; this place fills up quickly, and for good reason.

Wow. The food was absolutely next level. We started with two cheese plates, served with homemade sourdough toast--simply phenomenal. Then came the roasted cauliflower with hummus. So much flavor: bright lime notes, nutty, slightly sweet with just a hint of saltiness. Hands down, the best cauliflower I've ever had. For mains, we chose the swordfish with butternut squash, and the chef's special beet potato gnocchi with wild mushrooms. Both dishes were rich and hearty, yet we nearly licked the plates clean. The swordfish was cooked perfectly--moist and tender--and the butternut squash sauce made a fish that can sometimes be dry incredibly luxurious and flavorful. The gnocchi was another wow moment. While the beet flavor was subtle, the wild mushrooms and truffles worked beautifully together, and the cheese added little surprises that shifted the flavor in the best way with each bite. We finished with the homemade sourdough bread pudding. No words needed. Perfectly balanced between salty and sweet, super rich, and served in just the right portion. Service was fine. Our server was kind and knowledgeable about the menu, though a bit lacking in personality--almost AI-like.

Amazing food! I went for my birthday in April and absolutely everything was delicious.

Came here for my team's offsite! It was phenomenal. I am still dreaming of the potatoes - phone did not eat first!! And the bread with the salty butter!! My wine glass was never empty & the staff was all so lovely. They even let us play our own music in the restaurant! Will definitely come back the next time I make it to SLC

Easily the best meal that I've had potentially an all of 2025. On a recent trip to Utah my team booked us at Oquirrh for a special kickoff meal to our project... And it definitely did not disappoint. It exceeded all expectations actually in all areas of service, cuisine, execution and ambience. The interior is very unassuming with the laid back environment, modest decor and all of the service staff were warm, friendly, and welcoming. The real experience was of course the food, which we went a little overboard and ordered almost one of everything on the menu Given that things are seasonal at this restaurant I know that the menu rotates, but apparently the bread that we ordered is something that's a staple, and it was something that we ordered to orders of.. and even brought some back to our hotel room because it was just that good! The potatoes were delightful and all of the entrees that we shared were perfectly executed and you can tell that the ingredients they use refraction within season. Whenever I make my way back to Utah I'll definitely put Oquirrh back on our agenda to go back to and see what other delicious things that they conjure up in the next season that I'm in town.

This restaurant is amazing. The vegetarian menu and meat dishes were great! They brought back the balsamic cherries with zucchini and zucchini bread. It was amazing. The roasted duck breast was great along with the fennel sausage pasta special. The milk braised potatoes is also great too! The staff was super nice and attentive, also very good in suggestions for food and drink options. The decor is very artsy and there's lots of local art to be admirer and bought of necessary.

We tried this place out for an anniversary dinner! All the plates are "farm to table" so super fresh! We ordered the sourdough bread, summer veggie pasta, and ahi tuna. Everything had great flavor - my favorite being the sourdough bread and butter! I also had the cherry blossom spritz for a drink and would highly recommend! Sweet & yummy! The ahi tuna was considered a "small plate" so I would recommend ordering the bread or an appetizer with it. This place is cute & charming inside. The walls were filled with local art and our server was very sweet and friendly. Our food came out quickly & fresh. The restaurant has a rotating menu so keep this in mind when you visit. I had a few items that I was hoping to try that they currently did not have on their menu. Overall, they had about 10 items on the menu.

Wine, trout, and sour dough bread. SO good. We love this place.

Amazing food and service every time. I love that they mix up their menu and wine. We had their cheese plate, trout with their sour dough bread. Wine was delicious and paired perfectly.

In Salt Lake City and selected Oquirrh for fine dining. This stand alone restaurant was clean, nicely spaced, relaxing and many positive reviews. The staff was welcoming, pleasant and not over-bearing. We decided to split the red miso Caesar salad with crispy parmesan chips, bread crumbs, baby gem lettuce and lemon. It was tasty, fresh and a generous amount to share. We also ordered the radiator pasta with asparagus, parmesan cream, peas, chili flake, pine nuts and lemon ricotta. It was flavorful, light, and had an interesting flavor. Our final choice was the mafaldine pasta with red wine braised beef, chili flake, chestnut mushrooms, and parmigiano reggiano cheese. The meat was flavorful but a bit oily. The mushrooms and pasta was delicious and had a delightful flavor combination. The food here was good but not the WOW factor, I had anticipated. The menu was somewhat limited and not as bountiful as I had believed from the internet. I did have a pleasant evening but did not feel there was more on the menu that I needed or wanted to try.

We had a delicious dinner at oquirrh tonight. Service was fantastic (thank you Evan). Server knew the menu very well and was warm and attentive. The sourdough bread is a must order. And I loved my ribeye. The pot pie is a menu staple. But my husband liked it more than I did. Dessert was light and scrumptious.

Outstanding dinner. Food: loved everything. The Caesar salad was vibrant, light, and balanced. All of the proteins were cooked perfectly including the king salmon, braised beef, and Iberico pork tenderloin. Every dish was elevated with sauces and sides such as the yellow curry with the salmon and creamy polenta with the pork. We were obsessed with the mafaldine pasta. I'm not even sure what we ordered for dessert because we didn't see a menu but we loved that too. Service: the staff were super welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was attentive and detail oriented. The food came out at a great pace. Atmosphere: very small and intimate restaurant. It's a nice place, but not ritzy at all. It's much more homey, understated, and charming. It could work for a casual weeknight dinner or a special occasion. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant is amazing and a must if you are in SLC as I was for work. I read a few articles raving so figured must try them out. We made a reservation for 4 (which was a little hard to get so thats a good sign). The space itself is simple, not trying to wow you with flash. Our waiter was so professional and extremely well versed in the menu. We started with the house made sour dough bread served with butter and sea salt. YUM! Also had the salad which I think was the best salad I've ever had. Such a unique mix of fresh ingredients. How do I replicate this at home? For my entree I was going to order the much raved about chicken pot pie, but turns out it was a seasonal item and not on the menu at this time. I also wanted the house made mafaldine pasta with red wine braised beef, so this made picking between the two easy! It was delicious, tender, juicy, and creamy from the cheese. I could have ordered another plate of this! My coworkers had the mussels and steak and gave them high praises. Dessert was the million dollar bar which of course was great. We should have ordered two instead of sharing. All the wines and cocktails we had were top notch. We also got to meet the owner Angie who was there that evening and was so gracious. We loved chatting with her. They have a $50 per person cancellation fee and one person in our party was sick, they were kind enough to waive the fee when I called in last minute explaining the situation. Go support this place. You will not be disappointed! I can't wait to visit again!

Upon entering, the evening seemed promising. The ambiance was moody and intimate, the host was astute and welcoming, and the tile work was beautiful. As the night wore on, however, things slowly stopped adding up to a delicious dining experience. The first thing was the waitress. Apparently the host was also the waitress... and the bartender... and the busser - not that you would know it because of how attentive she was, but shortly after getting our small plates I mentioned to my cousin that I hadn't seen any other person working in the restaurant. While I knew that couldn't be true, I was facing into the restaurant and I only ever saw two other men casually saunter out from the kitchen, look around, and saunter back. No one looked excited to be working there, but the two men who appeared from the kitchen gave me no sense of urgency or purpose, only just that they were extremely bored. The second thing that didn't add up was the Farm to Table narrative. As our Swiss Army Server (thanks for that one, Dimitri) was opening up our wine and recommending dishes, I asked where the farm was located. Apparently, the farm is located in California, and this "farm" owns several other "Farm to Table" restaurants... hmmm... When it came to ordering, we were instructed to order all of our dishes upfront, but that they would come out in courses... While things rolled out like that, the way we were required to order and the way our food came out gave the distinct impression that they weren't dishes being made to order - only delivered to the table in such a way as to give the illusion that they were. Dishes you would expect to come out hot came out room temperature. Dishes you would expect to come out chilled came out room temperature. When each course came out they came out one dish at a time, but one immediately after another... almost like they had been sitting on a table in the kitchen just waiting for anyone to order them. The final, and perhaps most telling thing that didn't add up, was the distinct lack of any smell coming from the kitchen - let alone the restaurant. Only after we left the establishment did we realize how fresh and clean the air smelled. As a home chef, I understand that not every dish calls for garlic and onion, but what about salt? What about pepper? What about any kind of butter or seasoning or even a maillard reaction? In this day and age of salted dark chocolate caramels and umami, attempting any dish completely void of salt is a brave choice, but it's certainly not a heroic one. I mean, we're talking about a restaurant that cooks and serves a filleted trout with its head still attached, eyes buggin' out, bones in, the works! How are we not smelling the fish when it hits the table‽ Have you ever plugged your nose while you tasted something?... Exactly... To finally wrap this review up - the reason why I'm giving this experience 1 star is because the service was attentive, the beet salad was good, and the rest made us laugh uncontrollably at how bad it was. The potato pave was a fun gimmick, and the brussel sprouts were crispy but the pork tenderloin and the fish had no smell, no recordable temperature, and the only flavor I could identify was... dusty dirty mop water? I just don't know... we even tried to load up bites of pork and fish with the polenta, the sautéd and pickled greens, and the "sauces", but nothing helped... if anything, it made things taste worse... truly, I've never been closer to becoming a vegan. People will say we should've just sent back the food, but I've worked in food and bar service. How does requiring that level of service from your waitress for your patrons even begin to make up for a business model whose only job is to make food taste good? After all, I can get that level of service from McDonalds, even though I've never had an experience that required it from them... If you do decide to go to Roux for your next meal, maybe make it breakfast... from my experience, breakfast is a hard meal to mess up.

It has pistachio everything!! ;) Our bartender/server had great energy and customer service as well as the hosts! I left feeling so satisfied and blissfully full with the amazing meal! Kudos to the team at Urban Hill!!!! One quick side note: I appreciate how the restrooms had individually packaged floss picks! A nice touch indeed! ;)
