Wow wow wow. Incredible vibes and fully decked out for Christmas. My friends and I throughly enjoyed ourselves. Great service (Dasher/Albert) was so attentive and helpful. The ambiance is nice. They do a great job decorating the place for the holidays and it shows. The menu is also updated to be holiday themed. The ceviche is very tasty. It has a strong lemon flavor that is characteristic of the dish. They service it with salted chips. I ordered the Bread Zeppelin. It's a garlic cheese knot that is easy on the garlic and cheese. The sauce was very tasty and not overdone. We also got the Drunk Chicken sandwhich and it was tasty. Although it left more to be desired. The chicken wasn't bad but it tasted like it was either frozen or under fried. Next time I'd like to try their pizza, which looked to be pretty tasty. read more

If you find yourself in Salt Lake City you must try this little bar/restaurant!!! The staff were so great to squeeze us in before they closed for a private event. Everything was amazing. I started with the White Lady which was a fabulous drink and my husband had the Montucky Cold Snack on the server's recommendation. It was a local beer he thoroughly enjoyed. For dinner we split the shrimp ceviche which was plentiful and amazing. My drink complimented it perfectly. We also split the honey hot wings which were huge and delicious! They came out piping hot and we thoroughly enjoyed them. Since they were closing they also gave us recommendations on other places to enjoy for an evening nightcap. It's nice. a bit overpriced though. They don't answer their phones at all. I had the pleasure of coming for the holidays and ordering the drinks, they're very small. They ran out of an ale drink and so we ordered a Christmas beer, it was literally corona in gift wrap. 3.5/5 -- A new spot in downtown slc, located conveniently next to a few other bars. The staff were kind and helpful and the overall vibe was ok. I think if they took the lighting down it would help create more of the energy they are going for, there are a few bright overhead can lights that stood out in the wrong way. The drinks were good and refreshing. We tried the "Legally Different" monkey bread dessert, which wasn't great, we sent it back, it was a bit overcooked and something about the cream cheese tasted off. They brought out the s'mores dessert instead and that was better but I wouldn't go back for it, I would go back for that drink though! read more

Late late night noshing after a Delta Center concert had me slide past the ridiculous line Nextdoor, pull up a chair at the bar at Soundwell and had myself a fantastic Caesar salad (is that pickle juice I taste?) and their Blame it on the Alcohol pizza. This place was a great time! I ordered a sweet drink that my server recommended - it was tall and had a good presentation, but had a bit too much ice. My server was amazing and convinced me to bring friends next time. The California style pizza was amazing- I had never had dill on pizza before, but they nailed the flavor combinations on that one! They have one of those authentic Italian brick ovens, and their tofu and mushroom lettuce wraps were tasty. The band music was the best part; nice venue although small inside, you are sure to have a great time with friends and live music. read more

This is a bar with great atmosphere, live music, and solid pizza. I wouldn't come here just for the pizza, but it's tasty nonetheless. It's thin crust, brick oven, pizza-light. I like to keep my pizza classic, but the different flavors here are worth trying. Also - they have a robust menu of non-alcoholic drinks (pictured) which I always appreciate. Can someone doing the reviews explain to me what makes this a 5 star rating. The food was average at best. The pizza was similar to something I've had. Pass on the mocktail, wow! For $16, I thought it would be more impressive. Let's talk about the lack of service. Having dinner at 6:30 isn't the most ideal time, but when the restaurant was on 3 tables full, service should be prompt. When I wait for 15 minutes just to get service, next please. I had the opportunity to dine here last evening. As someone from the North East US, who appreciates pizza, this place hands down has the best pizza I've experienced in Utah. And yes, it's all about the crust and the crust was done to perfection. The bar itself is classy, great ambiance with a wonderful staff. I've walked by this place about a hundred times and never really gave it a second thought. I stoped in on Saturday night and now I can't wait to go back. Both girls behind the bar were incredibly sweet and kept up the conversation while cranking out our drinks so quickly! I was pleasantly surprised to see a custom beverage on the menu. My bartender explained that if I told her what kind of drinks I liked, she would make me something exactly to my taste. This was great because I usually feel like a bother when asking for guidance on drinks. I asked for a super spicy drink and was served the most delicious Ancho Reyes margarita. I was just there for drinks until I saw some of those pizzas coming out. There were so many unique choices! I tried the street corn pizza because I honestly had no idea how that would work, but it was delicious! The crust is wood fired, thin and crispy which isn't usually my preference but the toppings were so flavorful. My compliments to the chef! A true hidden Salt Lake City gem. Studio at Soundwell is another shining example of what is possible in downtown Salt Lake City and I expect it will continue to earn rave reviews in the future. I was invited to sample their food, soak up their atmosphere and partake in their cocktail menu on a recent evening as a plus-1 at a Yelp Elite event. As you can see, I'm not elite, but a simple man of the people like you, so let's get started. First and importantly first is that the pizza at Studio at Soundwell is incredible. There's seemingly no end to getting a slice in this town and if we're at peak pizza in SLC, this place is near the top. The dough is excellent. Crispy where is needs to be and chewy where it's supposed to be. I spoke to the chef while there and the process from custom flour blending to pizza on the plate is three days. Every single minute of that process shows up in every bite. You'll be astounded as the salt they use awakens each bite, the waves of flavor keep coming and coming. I sampled the Santana, with it's corn, jalapenos and cilantro, the California Love that combined roast chicken with bacon, cheddar and an avocado salsa Verde and an accent of dill. Both were wonderfully prepared and skillfully baked in their Neapolitan-style oven. The Red Hot Sausage Pepper pie was not overwhelmingly spicy, with the pepper oozing out of the pork sausage in a way that concentrated, but didn't overwhelm the pizza. The heat with the marinara was a lovely combination. In the end, however, the shining star in this bunch was the Kevin McCallister, a basic cheese pizza that outshined them all. The housemade marinara is a perfect host for the thin layer of cheese and both are the perfect accompaniment to that oh so incredible crust. You won't believe how it works and how the salt used in the dough helps to bring out every single flavor. Truly excellent and definitely worth the trip. Our sides included a salad with fresh grape tomatoes and a housemade red wine vinaigrette and an appetizer of tofu and mushrooms in a lettuce cup. These were extremely popular and as such, I never had the opportunity to taste one - they disappeared as fast as they came out of the kitchen. Then again, I was still occupied with the crust on the pizza. It was amazing. I'm still thinking about it. I'm also thinking of the people at the table adjacent to me who ate the tiniest bit of the slice and left the crust on their plates, piled up. I can't help but want to banish you to pizza Hell where you belong. You truly did not get the memo. What were you thinking? Meanwhile, back at the ranch... I'm not a chef. I don't own a restaurant and I'm not one to tell someone their business. However, what I am is a customer and I only have a single bit of advice for my generous hosts and that is to drop the prices a little on the cocktails. I had a really nice Old Fashioned and the Luxardo cherry and block of ice were nice touches. The drink itself was quite good, but at $14, it was a little hard to swallow. And because of Utah liquor laws? Also small. I understand that those are the rules, but I would think twice about ordering it again based solely on price. The space is beautiful and sparse in a good way. It's a place where a private party would be amazing and the jazz/jam trio playing in front of the speaker wall was proof that music could be an integral part of your party without being too front and center ( band was amazing, by the way ). In the end? The dough. The pizza, especially that incredible crust, is worth the dough. The Old Fashioned? Tasty, but not worth that much dough. read more

Poor customer service and awareness. If you got to this place because it showed up as Pizza Studio, this is the same place. The hostess were warm and welcoming! That's as far as we got when it came the kindness we received. We were staying in a hotel near by for a conference with our 2 children. This place was recommended by the hotel due to the convenience of its location and menu options. I told the hostess we were not looking for a table just to place an order to go for a couple of pizza's and have our meal with our kiddos in our hotel room since we have a special needs son and New Year's Eve is already a noise trigger for him. We were then informed of their age restrictions (21+ only). I reaffirmed the hostess we were only wanting to place and order and go. They then confirmed that should be fine. Once the hostess stepped away to grab a person that can take our order we were met by a very rude man that was on staff - tall Caucasian man with hat and glasses. He didn't care for our business just told us we couldn't have our children in their location and we had to leave. We were already tired, hungry and cold from our long day of travels and work to be met with this energy. so we left without asking for his name. No alternatives were offered to us by this man just to get out, so we took our business elsewhere. read more

I'm an out of towner that was in the city for a conference. I tried Studio my first night and I haven't gone to another bar, nor have I wanted to. Chris, Jo and the rest of the bar staff are friendly, welcoming, attentive and provide great conversation. It's a really nice space that plays an awesome variety of music. Not to mention, the drinks are very affordable! The true star of the show is the food created by Chef Belinda. Best darn pizza I've had in a long time! It's clear she takes a lot of pride in her staff and food. I wish I could take like ten pizzas home with me. The other food I saw come out looked delicious and the presentation top-notch. Beyond the employees, all the locals I met have been just as warm, welcoming and friendly as the staff. My trip was unexpectedly extended because of weather and I actually wasn't upset about it because it meant a few more nights with my new Utah friends!
