I have been to the Red Rock Steakhouse before but I came for dinner and at the time I was still eating meat at the time and I recall their steak being pretty good. This time we went for breakfast. Since I don't eat meat anymore I was pretty excited that they had a few options for me. They have pancakes, French toast, Migas, eggs, and potatoes. I chose 2 fried eggs and a pancake which are huge by the way. I also got hot tea but I was a little disappointed they only had herbal tea but I did appreciate they had a decent amount of options. My husband got their breakfast sandwich he really enjoyed it. It was a croissant, with egg, cheese, bacon and he got sausage added. They have a small but mighty staff and make everything to order so it may take a few minutes to get the food out but it is worth it because it is fresh and hot. We will definitely visit again when we are in town.

Wow! In the dead smack in little ol Red Rock, this place you have to try. This is NO chain. This is the real deal. Their beef nachos are ... amazing! The ground beef is seasoned, the beans are well seasoned and the queso is so good and its huge. The steak is perfection. (See pic) The wings are sumptuous. (See pic) and....wait for it.....the homemade peach cobbler with a crumble oatmeal top served warm and topped with vanilla ice cream ... Lordy Lordy that's just the best. Now they also have breakfast and they got hamburgers and fish and yes they have amazing salads. They have it all. And if that weren't enough they have an outside and bar for outside events ... WOW! And they have a museum worthy collection of antiques. Service with a country smile.

Peach cobbler and a large scoop of ice cream

Food was delicious! Ate the chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was legit, made with real cheese. Definitely get it! Homemade Peach cobbler and ice cream was so good!

Atmosphere was amazing, food was really good, glad I went out of my way to come here. Steak was cooked perfect and the Parmesan crusted catfish was the best catfish I've ever had.

NY steak. Overcooked & dry mashed potatoes. :(

Waited 2 hours to get served and let me tell you, the food was not worth the wait. The service wasn't worth the wait. I know what you're thinking, 2 hours really? Literally it was 2 hours. At a little after 1 hour, the waitress said that they were out of chicken fried steaks so 2 people would have to change their orders. This place would be better calling itself a Bar than a steakhouse. For all the time it took to make the food on the menu, it just didn't function as a restaurant. If this food would have been even somewhat good, it would have been a Saving Grace but everything that was served was just BLAND. Very little seasoning whatsoever if any. The gravy was like water and the green beans came straight out of the can. Steaks for overcooked and dry. The one chicken fried steak that did come out was almost 70% breading. No gravy on the mashed potatoes. Fried pickles were under fried so they came out mushy again with heavy breading. The onion rings looked really good, but they left the onion skins on them so every bite you took, you'd pull out the onion skin before you able to chew the onion ring. NOT GOOD FOR GROUPS LARGER THAN 7 or 8. But even then, the food was just Plain Jane. There's not much out in Red Rock so I don't know. If it were strictly a bar that served food, I think that would work better. Apparently they're also Under New Management, not sure what that means but as far as I could tell from my visit, it was totally NOT Worth Going!!

We ordered the Prime Rib, which was delicious, came with a side and one trip to the salad bar. The salad bar is well stocked and fresh. I will also state the service was very nice. I have two complaints and they are connected. Earlier I stated that I asked for a side of BBQ sauce since I do not like ranch dressing. That was provided however no mention that it was at an additional charge. All you have to be upfront and say there is an additional charge for your request. I can then decide if I want that item and what the charge is. Since neither were provided, I was surprised to see it on my bill. I did not question the charge, it was just deleted from the tip. I will probably return however this is a teaching moment, if you are going to charge extra for a client's request, tell them you are and what the charge is. If not for this issue, my rating would have been higher.

We were hesitant with the scores, but steak is steak. The place has a weird western theme. I can't quite explain it but I will try. It's like cowboy, but not modern, but not to old, but like early 2000s old? I give up. The staff were amazing!! Polite, and checked on us constantly. It wasn't too empty, but still surprised it wasn't more crowded on the weekend. They stared us off with two rolls of bread and butter. I loved it! The midget not so much. He isn't a fan of any non white bread. Oh well there was two for me! We started off with a wrapped shrimp and chicken appetizer. Ok so I will start with this. For the price we were expecting more than 4 pieces. Yet they were amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bed of thinly cut onion rings underneath was a great idea! The only thing we didn't like was a pinkish sauce that tasted a little like thousand island. Just no..... I had the boss top 12 oz medium rare, with a grilled chicken salad, and a side of green beans. The midget had the Nancys cheeseburger. First my steak was cooked perfectly! The only gripe was that it was under seasoned. It needed salt and pepper. The green beans on the side.. I've never had them like this. Grilled and seasoned. They were delicious! Had a snap and very well seasoned! The salad was fresh and the chicken was great. I threw on some of the fried onion from our appetizer and it was WOW! His burger was good. Again just missing the seasoning on the patty. Great bun and ratio of beef to veggies. Tons of fries. For us it was semi affordable. Other than the quantity of the appetizer, we were ok with the portions and prices. If the seasoning on the meats was better may have considered a 5 maybe. We may visit in the future if in the area.

Something needs to be done in response to his cruelty. But, what? For over a year he has been finding reasons to scold us over my Service Dogs -- my EXTRAORDINARILY WELL TRAINED SERVICE DOGS.  We should have never returned after his first fit of abuse over my very calm, very quiet Service Dogs. But, it's the only steak house in our area. First, it was because I gave them a piece of a tomato off of my salad, with my fingers. They had no interaction with anything on the table. I gave them a tiny bite of the tomato from the salad that I purchased. This is FDA Compliant. My Disabilities don't require large Service Dogs. So, I use a pair of pomeranians. Because they're so small, I keep them in a dog stroller that also serves as a walker with wheels for me. That way, they are confined and not touching a dirty floor that may be unsanitary. If you were to ever hear them bark, know that they are calling for help, for me.  I love them with all of my heart, and they love me. So, yes, they are my fur babies, but they do have jobs to do. Out in the public, they see that people are near and watching me. They are so smart. Sometimes, we even communicate with with hand signs. Unless I'm in a surgical setting, I'm never apart from my Service Dogs. They are so accustomed to waiting in doctor's offices, they curl up and take naps. They even accompany me into the Emergency Rooms. When I'm hospitalized, they spend every day sitting and watching over me. It may sound harsh, but they only leave their stroller to go potty outside and take a walk around the hospital gardens. Pomeranians are lap dogs, so they love their stroller. Away from home, they prefer it. People passing by think that it's hilarious how they sit up and casually take in the sights. They honestly look like they're shopping in the stores. They assess and adapt to the etiquette needs in various settings. Going into a restaurant is an almost daily event for them and the only part that gets them excited is the end of the meal. As I eat, I cut off tiny pieces of meat and set them aside. I, also, save a small tomato from my salad for them. I cut it into tiny bites, also. Then, I hand feed them their little bite size treats. Their saliva never has any interaction with any of the restaurant's plates or flatware. Most of the times that we go to a restaurant, it's after a day of doctor visits. As puppies do, they get thirsty. So, we carry a handy little collapsible water bowl. When we order our teas, we order a Disposable To-Go Cup of water that we pour into their travel dish. Until now, I've never had a restaurant refuse to give me a disposable cup of water... NEVER. As a matter of fact, most restaurant's staff absolutely love my puppies. Embarrassed and mad, I actually walked out of the only steak house around me. I really looked forward to eating there. But, now, I can never return. I guess that I won't be ordering deliveries from there either. I'm stunned to have been treated like I was. As I said, NATHAN WAKE, the GENERAL MANAGER of THE SALTGRASS RESTAURANT in San Marcos, Texas refused to give my puppies a DISPOSABLE TO-GO CUP OF WATER TO POUR INTO THEIR OWN TRAVEL PUPPY BOWL (that we carry with us). Something needs to be done in response to his cruelty. But, what?
