    Chicken skins!
    J B.

Fiorella's is one of those spots I don't really dine in but I order over the phone and I pick up. My favorite thing to order is the chicken skins. It's around $6 and it's perfect and I recommend getting a side of ranch. They're crispy Always hot and seasoned just right. They have tables and chairs It's not a lot of Glam because they're known for throwing down in the kitchen so you're there to eat and it's comfortable to do that. I like the fact that I can call in my order and pick it up within 15 minutes and it's always consistently hot and delicious. I recommend if you get opportunity to go in and try this restaurant. They're known for that fried Chicken and just the skin alone is delicious so the rest of the chicken can't be that far off lol.

Great food, friendly atmosphere. Fried chicken here is excellent, but the Stromboli sandwich is everything I want on a pizza stacked in every bite (without the repurcussions of a heavy red sauce.)

I was in the mood for some fried chicken for lunch. The Mrs Yelped and came up with Fiorella's. It had excellent reviews of the fried chicken. We took the local bus and a hour later we were dropped off 100 feet from the front doors of Fiorella's. The building and interior had the "past the prime" and old school diner look and vibe. However the shack was clean and the AC was cool. The shack was packed. The ordering line was long, but we had a friendly coversation with a couple in front of us. Next thing you know, it wss time to order. Mrs. continued her fascination with poboy and ordered the fully dressed catfish version. I came for fried chicken and ordered the 4 pieces plate with side of French fries and green beans. I also stuck up a friendly coversation about muffuletta with the counter lady while ordering and paying. It took a while for our food to come up, because the chicken pieces were fried fresh. So we continued our conversation with the same couple because they sat at the table next to us. The couple ordered the Wednesday special of meatloaf plate and it looked delicious. Finally, our foods arrived. Mrs said the catfish was fried and seasoned perfectly. However, she said the catfish fillet was skinny. The French bread was good. My fried chicken plate had a wing, drumstick, breast, and thigh. The skin was crispy and seasoned well. The meat was moist and had a lovely spicy kick. Mrs commandeered the thigh and she loved it. The fries were good, but the green beans were from the can type. The owner's wife dropped by our table to check on us. We ended up having a conversation about the shacks fried foods and muffuletta. One of our goal was to fly home with a whole muffuletta from Central Market for our youngest daughter. The counter lady and owner's wife had hyped up Fiorella's muffuletta so much, we decided to buy two whole muffulettas to take home. No more Central Market muffuletta for the trip home. We brought extra one to fly home for us. Before leaving, the couple next to us, highly recommended the meatloaf. Since our hotel has an in room microwave, we decided to ordered meatloaf plate with side salad and mashed potato to go for our dinner. The meatloaf was very meaty and tasted delicious with the brown gravy. The sides tasted good as well. After we got home to Houston, youngest daughter, Mrs, and I had our first look of the muffuletta. The muffuletta was big. The cold cuts, olive salad, cheese, and bread ratio looked appropriate. We air fried it just a touch to melt the cheese and crust up the bread. The muffuletta was delicious. Personally, I liked to have a little more olive salad. We were glad we brought the muffuletta hype of Fiorella's employees and owner. We had Central Market's muffuletta before, Fiorella's was just as tasty and was $10 cheaper. Our lunch at Fiorella's was one of the most pleasant and enjoyable experiences ever. Mrs and I had good foods and unxepected but wonderful conversations with the local folks.

Little divey restaurant known for its fried chicken which is excellent. Po' boys terrific. Daily specials. Very casual. Noisy. Friendly staff. Popular for lunch. Serves beer and wine. A real Nola type of joint.

Just stick to the chicken. While I've only been here once before having chicken that was great...this time not so much. I fought with myself about whether I wanted to cook after work or not and my don't cook thoughts won...fiorella's is on the way home so I figured I'd stop. Parking is right off the street in front of the building, there aren't very many spaces. I went in wanting chicken but got the hamburger steak instead. I should've gone with my first mind especially after neither of the staff members I spoke to had ever tried it. Sat to eat and wasn't impressed. It could've been seasoned much better and the gravy didn't seem very gravy like. The most interesting part was the glass bottled dr. pepper that I'd never seen any where else before. Next time I stop by, it'll just be chicken for me.

I enjoyed the great fried chicken at Fiorella's in the French Quarter for many years and I'm glad that we now have the original family involved again making that great chicken at their new location in Gentilly. The Fiorella fried chicken is legendary and it has been ranked by many as some of the best New Orleans style fried chicken in the city. Fiorella's also has great Italian food options so you have a lot of great choices here. I've eaten here several times now and I've enjoyed all of my food and I certainly will be making many return visits. My video review of Fiorella's is here: https://youtu.be/SXTJhJQJtfc

Ruined our lunch!! This is absolutely unacceptable. Placed a phone order, picked up our food which was already packed to go and this is what we saw when we opened the container. If these containers aren't suitable for the dish consider changing your packaging instead sending customers home with their food like this. And even worse, it wasn't very good. This was my first time ordering this dish and definitely my last.

Four piece fried chicken plate with mashed potatoes, gravy, turnip greens. Also had a grilled shrimp salad.

So, when our server told us the check can't be split but she can "take multiple cards" I was a bit confused and asked if she could explain more since that's what we might do, since she said it was possible. Already there she gave attitude and said I don't know how else to explain it to you in a rude tone. After we finished our food, we asked her to take multiple cards for the check and she told us to write on the back what to charge each card. I apologize that I did misunderstand what she meant, and put the items rather than the exact amount to charge each card. She came back and said, "you did exactly what I said not to do." So I said sorry and was in the midst of redoing it by calculating when she just snatched it from me and said she'll just do it. I had no problem doing it nor did we complain even once. After a while, understandably, she came back and basically scolded us, saying what if she was busy she wouldn't have been able to do this....but she said she could do it in the first place! We understood from the get go no split checks but then she gave the option of multiple cards so obviously we took it. The food was good and the ambience was nice. I enjoyed the open kitchen concept and seeing the pizza oven. But the service ruined it for me. I work the food industry and would have never acted this way. Won't be going for pizza here. Speghetti also had an odd flavor which the kids not I enjoyed. Kind of like vinegar. The tagliatelle though was amazing. The sauce was spot on just a little too frugal with it. The truffle was a great mix and just the whole dish was a balance of savory umami. Would love to see a protein with it though. Tried the meat and cheeses which were fantastic as well with the accompaniments and fried bread. I really enjoyed the chicken patte. The prosciutto was good nothing exciting. The bresaola was ok. The matru, bocconcino, and Harbison were all good. Of all the desserts tried the lemon sorbet was best but thats from brocatos. One of my fav places. The banana cake was not bad. Liked how it wasn't that sweet if you don't eat the brittle. The chocolate coconut didn't care for because of the hazelnuts. Will have to try another pasta to see if they match the deliciousness of the tagliatelle.

A Perfect "Old-School Meets NOLA" Date Night…read more If you are looking for a true "date night" atmosphere where you aren't treated like just another table number, Vincent's Italian Cuisine is a gem. Having grown up eating in New York's Italian stalwarts and traveling through Italy, I'm often skeptical, but Vincent's manages to strike a beautiful balance. It captures that authentic, old school Sicilian vibe without ever feeling tacky, all while maintaining a distinct Southern charm and New Orleans flavor. The Ambiance & Service The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for!! It was intimate, welcoming, and intentional. A huge part of that experience was our waiter, Greg. He was incredibly hospitable and kind, making us feel genuinely cared for throughout the evening. The Food The food quality overall was excellent. We ordered: The Pork Chop: This was the absolute star of the night. I would order this again in a heartbeat. It was perfectly prepared and full of flavor. Crab and Shrimp Linguine: The seafood was fresh and the linguine is clearly homemade. Wine Selection: They have a lovely wine list that paired beautifully with the meal. A Note on Texture & Coffee My only critique for the kitchen would be the pasta texture. As someone who prefers a firm bite, the pasta here leans much softer. While homemade pasta is softer, the penne was a little too soft for my liking. We specifically requested our side of penne be prepared al dente, but it still arrived quite soft. If you are a die hard fan of firm pasta, just be aware of the house style. I did not mind it much once it did come because everything else was perfection. We finished the night with a slice of chocolate cake, which was delicious. However, the coffee was a bit of a letdown. It felt a little watered down and could definitely be stronger to match the richness of the dessert. Final Verdict Despite the softer pasta and the mild coffee, I will absolutely be returning to Vincent's. The hospitality and the quality of the main courses make it a standout. I'm already looking forward to trying more of the menu! The hostess was also a real gem and so warm. THANK YOU!

There's no shortage of amazing Italian restaurants - Irene's, Paladar 511, Pulcinella!, and Giana are just a few other options. I would be embarrassed if I was the owner of this establishment.
