Picked up a selection of pastries the other day and I was completely impressed by the croissants! I'm currently baking them myself so it was fun to compare. The location is great and the service was friendly and efficient. It really says something when you come in at 5 in the afternoon and the place is crowded with customers. I loved this cute cafe! The have inside and outside seating. When I went on a weekday afternoon, there were plenty of tables open. The person who took my order was very friendly. I had an iced latte and it was good. I saw that they also have some food that all looked yummy. Parking is only street parking. However, I was able to find a place across the street right away. The potato's were amazing, the poached eggs and hollandaise were good, the salmon wasn't my favorite but I am a salmon snob. Best bakery and cafe in downtown Edmonds. Their croissants are big and flaky and their quiches are so good. My favorite beverage is their Citrus Sunburst, a turmeric orange tea latte. Stopped into Red Twig Bakery Café earlier this morning, and we could not have been more pleased! The ambience is truly wonderful, the perfect coffee shop to enjoy a book. We ordered the Lavender Latte and the Mocha and enjoyed both. We also got the order of the Bagel and Schmear and it was delicious! The Reuben was above average because the beef is obviously prepared in-house, but some of it had gotten hardened or dried which was an unexpected texture. Flavor was great though. Update: I have been back to this restaurant a few times over the last six months and was happy with the service and the quality of the food. I recently dined in with 3 adults and 1 child and we all liked our food. Their coffee selections and bakery items are very good. I have also gotten takeout for myself a few times and was also happy with the food and the service. The menu changes a little seasonally which I appreciate. The staff was friendly and efficient. Cute little bistro with a lovely corner patio. A ceiling of red umbrellas and pretty flowerpots provided welcome shade on a hot day. That's where the good part ends. We waited at the counter while the staff chatted socially, ignoring us while we waited to place our order, pay, and take a number. While we waited for the food we used the rest rooms. A bit inconvenient because there was no toilet paper, no paper towels, no way at all to clean up or dry hands. Maybe the staff could fix that instead of chat. The chairs On the patio we're uncomfortable. Some of our drinks never arrived. The food was disappointing. particularly the greens,, which were limp and showed signs of rot, including some slimy black edges. We had a nice time there anyway. My observation was that the very nice staff could quickly remedy all ills with a bit less socialization amongst themselves and a fair amount attention to their jobs. read more

Super cute & warm coffee shop! After dinner and walking around the little neighborhood I was more than happy to be welcomed by the blast of heat as we walked in! Since it was later in the evening, I didn't want to order coffee but my friend noticed the "Wicked Matcha" drink on the specials board and we decided to have a go at it. I was a little disappointed in the lack of blackberry flavor although my friend who ordered the same with oat milk (I got whole milk) was able to taste it just fine. I did not care for the cacao nibs unfortunately. It was bitter and kept getting in the way of my drink but I didn't want to de-star because of that minor issue but rather as a whole really enjoyed the first experience being here. My friends and I were comfortable chatting away and loved how they were open fairly late well for a coffee shop. Unless that's not late? I guess I don't really go to coffee shops in the evening. I don't live close to here but if the occasion calls for it, I'd come back to try their coffee as well! read more

The barista just had a sh*tty attitude when I made a simple comment pointing out a discrepancy between the "menu" price and the "register" price I was charged for my drink. It was only a $0.35 difference. But, I believe I should have gotten some other response (something like "thanks for pointing that out) other than "we have to charge sales tax" I would have agreed with them should that have been the issue. We went on Saturday around noon and there was a steady line of people to order. We ordered just from the pastry case and coffees. They have a lot of brunch items, salads, soups, and sandwiches. We order hot beverages, pumpkin latte and lavender latte with oat milk. They do not charge extra for milk alternatives. Most of the gluten free pastries were individually wrapped or on separate shelves which we appreciated. Reasonably price and plan to return again. I usually walk my dog in downtown Edmonds in the morning and it's a daily battle to not come here everyday. When I was waiting in line I kept thinking of needing to kick myself for not trying this place sooner than a few months ago. I've been here quite a few times and it will continue to stay in the rotation of go to restaurants. I haven't eaten or drank something I don't like. Whether it's a pastry, a cookie, tea, a sandwich, or a salad I've throughly enjoyed it. Love that menu items are constantly changing because then I don't get board. Waiting for a drink is definitely on average for a coffee shop. But they are pretty quick with bringing out food to your table or having it read for to-go. Lots of seating between inside and outside. When it's nice outside, it may be had to grab a table on the patio. Definitely support local and come here for your morning caffeine and a sweet treat. read more

We popped over at 10a on a weekday hoping it won't be too busy. It was busy but not too busy. We were a group of 5, and I was nervous about getting a big enough space for us. We found the last available table for our size, and I felt lucky. The crowd consisted of folks visiting with friends and individuals working on their laptops. Service was slow-ish. They don't try very hard to call your drink order out, so I found myself leaving my table guests and checking multiple times. They do bring out your hot dishes. Nice little coffee shop in Edmonds! Lots of tables, including outdoor seating - it's a bit crammed together but it works. The coffee offering are the usual, with a few standout items. I had a lavender latte that didn't especially suggest lavender, but was tasty nonetheless. The pastry case has a lot of gluten-free offerings clearly labeled. I ordered a raspberry scone with poppyseeds and almond - I'm not sure it was a true scone, but it was good. I do think they could improve in the details - napkins on tables would be nice, since navigating back to the utensil station can be a pain depending where your table is. Likewise, my latte filled my cup to the brim, but I was expected to carry it to my table with no saucer - and yes, I spilled it, as the other ladies at my table did with theirs, and now you know why the napkins would have been nice. I know for next time (and now you do, too), but as it was my first visit, a bit more attentiveness would have been nice. Still, it's a nice spot to meet up for a cup of coffee with friends, and I'd go back any time I'm in the area. read more
