10 out of 10 recommend this place it is phenomenal. The food, the vibe, the quality, the service, the offerings. I could go on forever.

Bacon quiche and Chai latte
Alison P.

Met a friend for coffee and ended up having a bacon quiche and a Chai Latte. Very delicious! Service is always fast! Barely any waiting. However it was 9:00 am, and only 2 tables were full by the time we left nearly all the tables were full including outside seating. This is a quaint coffee shop. Families, couples, friends, people with dogs all seemed to be enjoying their Sunday mornings.

Awesome cafe. Highly recommended. I ordered the double macchiato with oat milk. Delicious. Met a friend here for work. Awesome. Great time . Lots of Great pastries available. Extremely busy Ana very friendly, quick and efficient. They have square and you can use your Toast rewards. Yeah!

Feel good food. Breakfast or brunch. Coffee lovers dream. Seasonal options, limited parking, cute town. Order when you walk in. Cozy vibes.

The strength of this place is the atmosphere. The service is mediocre. What brings you back in my opinion is the food, quality of the ingredients, and good vibes. I like the seasonal pastries, although they can be a hit or miss on certain. I love the range of offered items, it's nice that the hours often are longer than other cafes.

French Toast

Cozy spot with a great location! French toast was good but not memorable; crepe was fluffy, could use a flavor boost.

Fun spot to hang at. Entrance is on the side of the building. There may be a line where you order and after find seating. Staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 lattes, one for here and one for a to go cup. Ended with both cups for here. Coffee is picked up on the side of the counter. Once you order they give you a number if your dining in. They will deliver your food at your table. The pancakes were fluffy . The whip cream and sauce worked well with the pancakes. The Scrambles Spinach, Cherry Tomatoes & Feta dish was delicious. Looking forward to trying another dish soon!

2 specialty lattes and white chocolate raspberry muffin

Me and my fiancé went here for the first time, This is a very tiny place, and the line can get pretty crazy, so get there earlier. The girl who took our order was flustered and it kind of gave me anxiety w/how rushed the ordering process was (it was our first time, so we had questions, felt like a burden to ask anything) We ordered 2 specialty coffee drinks, I got the orange latte and he got something else (can't remember the flavor) When we finally got our drinks, they tasted identical. I didn't taste any notes of orange, nothing special or different in either of the drinks, which for the time we waited for the drinks and the price paid, was very disappointing. We got a white chocolate raspberry muffin (it was AMAZING) and we ordered the breakfast sandwich and a sweet potato Parmesan scramble. We got our food, & thankfully my fiancé traded meals with me (the scramble was not my thing) the sandwich was really tasty though. All in all my review is mixed. I feel like every single restaurant in Edmonds is just WAY over priced for the quality/experience/consistency that we get.

Turkey Sandwich
Taylor M.

My mom and I both ordered the turkey sandwich and the only redeeming quality was the garlic mayo. The turkey was just a big chunk in the middle of the sandwich, the lettuce was not fresh, and the bread was so dry and tough that it was hard to swallow. It also took about 30 min for us to even get our food which seems a bit long for two cold sandwiches. I would never order this again but the pastries they had looked very good so I would maybe come back to try those.

Mocha

TLDR: no seating inside for strollers, and bland food/drinks. I came with a fellow mom and our strollers around 5pm. There was plenty of seating inside, as well as some seating outside as well. The hallway to order was pretty narrow, so I would have understood if they asked us to put our strollers to the side or something. But they told us strollers aren't allowed inside, and suggested sitting in the white tent outside. Unfortunately, there wasn't any heating in the tent. I am a bit disappointed that we weren't able to put our strollers against the wall or something so our babies could stay warm. The inside was almost empty, so it wasn't like there wasn't any space. Food & drink: I ordered an earl grey latte and spinach & cheese quiche, while my friend ordered a mocha and cookie. The theme for my items are: very subtle flavors. For the earl grey latte, I guess I expected an espresso latte with earl grey syrup. But it was literally earl grey tea with milk. No coffee to make it a "latte." The quiche was very healthy - or basically very plain and if there was seasoning, I really couldn't tell. It just tasted like eggs. I enjoy quiche when it's a little more savory and has more body/depth of flavor from fats (either butter or bacon or something). Or at least add some salt and pepper!!! All in all I'm pretty disappointed in both the accommodation for families and the very poor quality of food and drinks.

I'm a regular and love Red Twig and today was just awesome! Hurry in for the Timberline Turkey bowl with tarragon dressing! So delicious and only for a limited time. Staff was super sweet and friendly and the drip coffee is my fave in Edmonds. Yum!!

Good pastries, nice staff, and free roll for kids!…read more Our experience was great. They gave coupons the first two times we went. One for a free pastry next visit and after we used that they gave a coupon for a free bread loaf the next visit. The pastries are really high quality and creative, like the cottage coins(?) and the rye chocolate chip cookie.

I've visited The Cottage a couple more times, along with visiting plenty of other Seattle-area…read morebakeries, and I unfortunately no longer think they are top tier. I'm not sure if it's because something changed on the side of the bakery (maybe recipe or personnel changes?) or on my side, having tried more bakeries around the area. On our last visit we bought two loaves of bread to accompany a butter tasting. Both loaves I found to be not nearly as high quality as I remember previously. Pane Bello ($9) - The crust basically doesn't exist in this bread. It's soft and leathery and doesn't give that satisfying crispness of a well baked bread. The interior, while having good crumb structure, is particularly dry and almost crumbly. The taste is mild, perfect for pairing with higher end butters. (3/5) Parmesan Black Pepper Sourdough ($9) - This batard has similar texture as compared to the Pane Bello. It has the addition of plenty of black pepper baked inside, spaced out rather evenly, allowing a peppery bite every time. There's salty and fatty parmesan baked on top, giving a caramelized salty umami. It definitely has more flavor than the Pane Bello, but suffers from the same textural issues. (3/5) We purchased both loaves at 10AM on a Sunday morning and they were consumed within 2.5 hours, so I don't think it's an issue with storage. I ate a bit of their regular foccacia at a work event too. It has a good crispy exterior and is salted well on the top. Unfortunately the interior isn't the best, having a really dense, chewy crumb. I'm honestly not sure what happened. I really loved The Cottage when I first moved here 1.5 years ago. Now? I have a number of bakeries I'd choose over here in a heartbeat.

The fact that you can actually see the kitchen and staff first thing in the morning through the window is so humanizing and really makes you understand that you're supporting peoples dreams and pursuits. I come early in the morning when they first open so the vibes are always calm which is nice. I would definitely recommend getting daily pastries instead of other places like starbucks which prepackage every item in plastic. The prices are similar enough and the quality is just so much better here! I bout a bakers dozen the other day for a coworkers last day and they lasted less than 15 mins before people couldn't restrain themselves.

They offer a great variety of unique pastries, including the trendy flat croissant. While the flat croissant was fun to try and very crispy, I still prefer the traditional style. The pistachio croissant and Hokkaido cheese danish were my personal favorites because they were incredibly fresh, flaky, and buttery. Besides the treats, they have a solid selection of coffee and milk teas. The interior is spacious, and the staff is both quick and friendly.

I mentioned to her I've gone to plenty of 85 locations including this one and have always showed my drivers license. She then proceeded to tell me she never done it this way and have to message her boss but less than 20 seconds later she just applies it. Gave attitude and all for what reason? She kept talking back to me, didn't care to maintain eye contact and pushed the bag full of pastries towards me like she didn't have a care. I always order sea salt caramel coffee and this is the first time it doesn't taste as it should... Unfortunately I didn't see a name tag but she gave attitude to the customer behind me as well, hopefully it doesn't continue for the rest of the customers who's undeserving of that. Even if you have a bad day, doesn't mean you should project it onto people especially customers. Who wants to start their morning with bad coffee and even worse attitude? Management should go through trainings especially customer service and valid military IDs for active members and veterans.

This was at 8AM - first time I've visited an 85 this early and I wasn't expecting it to actually be decently busy! They also had the boba ready at 8AM and I couldn't resist getting a drink as well. Boba Milk Tea, Medium, 25% Sweet ($4.85) - I've only gotten boba in the afternoon from 85C, most recently from the Lynnwood location, and it wasn't very good at all. I'm guessing they don't rotate the boba at all, so ordering it earlier is better. The boba at 8AM is actually pretty good with a surprisingly decent chew and bounce and a good sweetness on the exterior that's also sticky and soft. The pearls aren't really consistent in size, but are consistent in texture, which is more important. For the tea - 50% sweet is usually way too sweet for me at 85C. 25% is good and not too sweet. Unfortunately there isn't much tea flavor and it mainly tastes milky and creamy. Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 White Chocolate Strawberry ($2.60) - Very soft bun with the typical artificial strawberry flavor. The bun is super soft with a nice subtle bounce. Small pieces of softened white chocolate are embedded in the strawberry flavored cream on the inside. It's a well balanced bun that's sweet but not cloying. (4/5) Overall this is a pretty decent 85°C. Very convenient to visit to pick up fresh bread after grocery shopping at Ranch. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms
