After hearing quite a few people talk about this being a great burger place, we decided to try it last night. We had the california burger and the burger with an egg on it, with fries and onion rings. The california burger was very bland, there was absolutely no seasoning or salt on the meat. had it been seasoned properly it would have been, well, ok. The egg burger (not sure what they call it) again, no seasoning or salt on the meat, first bite sent runny egg yolk all over the place. I guess that combined with no salt or seasoning made it pretty gross. The fries which are advertised as crispy were just regular foodservice coated fries. Ok, I guess but a handcut authentic fry would have been way better. The rings were crunchy which was nice, but basically flavorless. Then there's the bathroom. If you've ever smelled the mushroom farm in Lacey, then you would be familiar in this bathroom. I did see someone's shrimp basket come out that looked pretty good but based on the first experience, we will definitely not be going back to try anything else. read more

I love Red Wagon! My favourite items are the Fish & Chips and Philly Cheesesteak sandwich - my husband loves their burgers. I don't think you can go wrong with any item! Staff is very friendly and helpful which speaks volumes if you appreciate great customer service. read more

I had the fish and chips. Massive pieces of fish. I should have ordered 2 instead of three. Great light, crispy breading, great cuts of fish. awesome fries too! The place was busy for lunch and I can see why. I will definitely be back to try other menu items. read more

Maybe I've stepped into an alternate universe than everyone else whose given this place great reviews, but I've been here twice, once when it was Daybreak, and then recently as Pepper Jacks. The first time we were here my stepdaughter got chicken nuggets which were burnt, she couldn't get a milkshake because they "were out of the stuff to make them", and I got a Philly cheesesteak which was SO greasy I could squeeze out the bun and fill an entire cup with the grease. I decided to give them another try when the name changed because a few friends had said they were good. I was STILL very unimpressed. The cheesesteak was STILL very very greasy and bland on top of it! Almost completely unedible. My friend had the Hawaiian burger. No good either...it was so greasy it fell apart on her. I'm sorry, I know a lot of people like this place....it's always busy when I drive by, and I'm sure the owners are great people, but I will not set foot in here again. read more

Good burgers, good fries, good cheesesteak, and great onion rings. Friendly staff. This place gets busy at lunch, so I try to go at off-peak hours. Comparable to Van's Burgers. read more

Waitress was so sweet, food came out fast and hot! (Btw best ranch ever) got the mushroom philly n fries n it was messy but tasty.

I do like the non beef burgers and all the fixings. I have been here during peak times and non peak times, but always the same thing....20+ minutes for somethink that should be 10 mins. the counter staff person works fast but is answering the phone taking orders, thats inefficient. just let that person work the counter and food carry out. there are two guys just slowly prepping and just moving at a snails pace. the cook kinda seems with it. when you get an order start the meat on the grill immediately. I dont know if i will back as the wait is frustrating. read more

A friend and I stopped by on our way down from Seattle heading back to Los Angeles. The burgers are superior, almost reminded me of an old fashioned in and out burger from back in California. Philly cheesesteaks were probably the best I've ever had. French fries are crispy just the way I like it. I'll definitely come back again when I'm in the area. read more

The fish and the onion rings were both soaked in grease - really bad. They do have good burgers and fries though, but nothing special. You order at the counter like any other burger joint, but it's slower than most. read more

Amazing! My husband and I tried this place back in 2010 and didn't really care for it. My dad just mentioned that his coworker went and that they loved it and that Red Wagon has new owners. We decided to try it again. WOW! My cheeseburger and onion rings were delicious. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak and loved it and the fries were so good. We will be back again. read more

This was one of my favorite places to get a good burger, therefore I chose 3 stars instead of 2. Unfortunately it just hasn't been the same lately. We ordered food for pick up, it's a little out of our way but usually the burgers are worth it. Today, no avocado in the California burger and the fries smelled and tasted like fish. It's just so expensive to get home and be disappointed. I hope they fix the problem, like I said they used to be fantastic. read more

Husband and I recently moved to Tumwater/Oly area and have tried many burger places looking for our new go to place. Happy to say we found that at Red Wagon. Food was amazing, even the onion rings were good. I had the cheeseburger with bacon; bacon was crisp and burger was delicious. My husband got the Cali burger which comes with avocado on it. Great food, big portions, but a tad pricey especially for a small town. $11.XX something for a bacon cheeseburger and fries. Good quality though, so if peeps are willing to pay more for it, then why not? You gotta love supply and demand. read more

Great food and service. They have grown a lot and continue to grow. I have been there twice with my family and the food and service has always been great. I went after they changed their name and since the first time they have added a cooler with additional drinks. Assorted beer and wine. Fries are crispy and burgers are juicy. They are open minded and want feedback on how everything is. My daughter likes the fish and chips. I love the burgers (hawaiian and monster burger Mmmm) and younger kids like the chicken (nuggets or strips both are good). Great prices. I prefer them over everywhere else in the tumwater area for burgers. read more
