Customer service is excellent. Right when I walked in the door I was acknowledged. There's a fine line between feeling pressured for them to make a sale and feeling welcomed. I felt they had the perfect balance. Ryan greeted me. He wasn't pushy, didn't directly ask me what I wanted, he simply greeted me, allowed me to browse, and welcomed any questions I had. You're not treated as a number here; it's not just a simple sale. They want you to establish long-term relationships. You can tell by how much they invest in you, educating you, answering your questions, and being patient with you, whether they make a sale or not. This even is reflected in their customers. I ran into a customer who was very passionate about the brand. He shared his experience with maintaining his lifetime boots. I have a metal rod and pins in my leg which made me nervous about getting boots but understanding how the leather stretches and softens after the breaking in period as explained by Ryan, as well as the customer, allowed me to trust the process. I do not recommend this location. I'm disappointed overall with my purchase which was brought about by poor customer service. I've been using Red Wing Boots for the entirety of my professional career and after this experience I'm wondering if it's time to make a change. Their boots have historically been super reliable, comfortable and come with free repairs and shoe laces. The pair of boots I bought from here are apparently one of several that they do not repair. That's unfortunate because I asked about that very service when I made the purchase and was told nothing about my model being unmaintainable. The boots also wore out faster than any other pair of Red Wings I've owned. The soles have huge holes in the after less than 2 years and with no way to fix them I am out a set of boots. The customer service leaves much to be desired as well. When I made my initial purchase I asked about the sole replacement specifically as well as some other questions. Basically everything I asked about did not apply to my model of boot but was never told that. When I went in later to ask about getting them repaired it was even worse. They made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. I asked them to double check on the sole repair since I asked about it when I purchased the boot and was given bad information. The employee said they'd check and call me back which they definitely did not do. Very very disappointed that so far they've done nothing but consistently lie to me here. While I was there I opted to get replacement shoe laces which was also a disaster! They gave me strings and claimed they were shoe laces. I mean for a set of work boots the little strings simply don't work. They hurt your fingers when trying to use them and they WILL NOT stayed tied. Again the employee just shrugged when I asked if that was really all they had. Terrible service and now I'm wondering if they company as a whole is just trash now. We just relocated and decided it was time for hubs to get a new set of Work Boots. He has purchased from Red Wing Shoes many times, but this was our first experience with the location up here in Oregon. I tagged along to both help select and also, to check out the Woman's section incase I was in need of some new shoes for either Work/Hiking/Etc. Upon arriving- You will notice the location is a bit hidden. Kinda had to go a round about way to actually get to the front door lol Andrew immediately wore his mask once he spotted us arriving and asked if we had any questions or would like any assistance. There was rush, no pushy salesman nonsense. Plus, My hubby has had his fair share of a variety of workman boots that he would have known if the guy was just feeding him BS. Nope! Andrew did none of that and backed off to give us some space to browse and look around, than came by and was super helpful when hubs wanted to try on a set he was interested in. Once speaking with Andrew we quickly realized he actually knew what he was talking about... He mentioned another pair ( Hubs was also debating on that one) and gave reasonings between the two of the pros or cons. In the end. We were very pleased with the overall experience and results. Place also seemed really clean, had that nice new leather smell to it lol. He also mentioned how they are getting ready to install more updated equipment to help recognize your pressure points when you stand ( AWESOME!!). I was from out of town to purchase a set of Red Wing shoes. I showed the owner my existing pair and stated that they were well under the factory warranty and one year and if they had not performed correctly or even within the guidelines of the normal wear that I have gotten with Merrill or Keens I even stated that I had my original sales receipt I was Flatley told that he would not honor the factory warranty. Currently, due to the pandemic, they are limiting only 2 customers in at a time. I completely understand, and appreciate it, but damn, it took over a half hour before I could get in the store. Luckily, I did my homework before showing up, and knew what I wanted. The staff there is awesome! Very helpful, and willing to do whatever to make sure you get the right fit, and the right boot. They also made sure I was comfortable throughout the process. The boots are very well made. They feel great on to, which is important if you're on your feet all day in unforgiving circumstances. I work on concrete all day, and with other boots, the comfort level just isn't there by the end of the day. But with these... they're amazing. I also bought inserts to fit the boot. They work great and fit the boot perfectly! I will definitely be back to buy another couple sets, and will continue to buy all my work boots, and regular boots from them. read more

After going back to this location to get another pair of boots, I was utterly amazed at the woman who was there working when we arrived. I'm not even going to say "helped us" as she acted put out that we were even in her store. She was beyond snarky and rude and it felt like we were interrupting her when we walked in, as she was on the phone. We ended up taking our business to the Hillsboro location after calling that location on the phone. New owner there is amazing, kind and helpful - what you would typically expect and want to see when you are spending top dollar on shoes. Not a fan of this location at all. The person that helped me didn't seem to care if I got the correct size and seemed somewhat annoyed by my questions (I did have a lot). The US made boots are spendy and the sizing seems off. Also, they won't take returns on some boots even if you only tried them on inside. Terrible policy. Save some time and go to Danner. If you need boots and you happen to be female, this location is your best bet in the grater Portland area. SERIOUSLY!!! The other Red Wing stores in Portland and Vancouver only carry men's boots and Danner isn't doing any better by offering a few bullshit fashion boots for women. I get it that women only make up a fraction of the construction workforce but we still need footwear! This location actually has functional work boots in stock that you can try on and leave with same day. Another contributing factor to my positive experience at this location was the amazing customer service. The gentleman that helped me, Andrew, was extremely polite and helpful; he went way above and beyond to help me find the perfect pair of boots. Good boots are expensive, but worth it. I love my Redwing work boots and was excited to see new options for women's boots. I don't live locally, so I was dealing largely over the phone (and twice in person). I was "helped" on numerous occasions by Rosemary. Her customer service was atrocious, and she was impressively rude every time I spoke to her. After 3 weeks of back and forth (for a straightforward order), she refused to accept my credit card. The boots are great, and I couldn't recommend them more! Heres a thought on customer service. Two employees in the store, two customers being waited on. Patiently waiting to be acknowledged, eye contact, something. Finally asked by one, " Can I help you with something? " Me: Yes, you could acknowledge a customer when they walk in." Male employee: Well we are busy helping these other people." Me: Shouldn't stop you from saying Hello or be right with you. Male employee cops an attitude and insists the female employee did. In my personal opinion, you are better off going to the privately owned Red wing Shoes stores. Keizer and Hillsboro. If you are looking for repairs, touch-ups, conditioning... don't go to the Corporate Beaverton Red Wing Store location. Bought my regular #2418 shoes that I've been using for reinforcement the past 2 years, and the stitching has popped already. Whoever was at the store at the time began to tell me I have the wrong boots for rebar, that they couldn't help me with restitching (Keiser does it). Asked them about tough toe and they shrugged me off that it was even worth it. The list goes on and on. Beaverton Red Wing Shoe location is a corporate store and they already make enough money to not care about repairs and such I guess. They only want to sell new boots it seems. I called Keiser let him know what I was told and how I was treated, told me that he is friends with Aaron (the private owner of the Hillsboro location) and told me he would take care of me. Oh my goodness free shoelaces? WHAT?! I've never been into a red wings but I took my boyfriend because he needed new soles for his boots. The lady working there was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed our shopping experience there. The only thing I don't like is the shoe prices of course, $200 boots?! DAMN! But I understand since they're mostly heavy duty workbooks. These folks rely on technology to size a customers shoe size, then will not return their merchandise when wrong or not comfortable once you walk out the door. 2 hours after wearing Red Wing shoes I was in pain because they were too small. Not a bad place to shop for boots. They offer a few nice styles and the sales associate is pretty friendly. The prices are decent to slightly overpriced. $100 to $200 typically. There are lots of little ways for the price to be bumped up though, such as buying $40 insoles for your shoes, not necessary. All in all, my new boots work good, and feel alright so that's all I care about. read more

I came here having done some research and knowing pretty well what I wanted. In my youth I worked in a shoe repair shop so got to know what makes for good boots: quality full grain leather, stitching, attention to detail, re-soleable, etc. I say all this to give context for my experience of the veteran sales lady there. She almost made me wonder if I'm worthy of her boots - she was almost protective of them, as if she wasn't going to sell them to just anyone. After examining me and my character, she took time to patiently explain exactly why these boots are so good and almost made me pledge to take care of them and treat them right. I felt like I was asking to marry her daughter or something. But I really liked her - a real pro who knows her product - and I respect her care and commitment to quality very much. She insisted on measuring my feet and picked out a size smaller (measured 12, tried on 11) and they fit perfectly. With boots like these, there's always a little breaking in period, but mine has been relatively painless and I love these boots! read more
