First time at a Famous Footwear and I was impressed by the variety of top name brands represented. They had all the usual suspects - Nike, Sketchers, Birkenstock, Adidas, Clarks, Mia, Fry, Crocs, New Balance, Brooks, Havana, Madden Girl - and a decent selection in each. I was here for the Sketchers and they have a larger selection than most department stores. I have to try on shoes because I need arch support and a wide toe bed, so ordering online isn't an option unless I am ordering a repeat of an existing shoe. Spent a good 45 minutes going up and down the aisles, trying on shoes, putting them back. It was a bit exhausting since this is a do it yourself shopping experience and I felt badly leaving a dozen boxes of shoes on the bench. Wish I had left a popcorn trail cause I spent so much time trying to put them back or find them to try a different size! It's a bit overwhelming. Left with a pair of black slip on Sketcher sandals and AdidasCloud sneakers in baby blue, a total random purchase, after checking online to make sure the prices were the best. I highly recommend doing this as some of the models I could buy through Amazon or Zappos for less. Was very happy with my purchases and have since been to other Famous Footwear locations. read more

Well I was "planning" on getting a new pair of shoes this evening. I have been walking about 9 miles a day and combining that with having worn at work for a little over a year, they were a little past worn down. I drove over from Lake Oswego after my shift and was bummed to discover that they closed @ 7pm...I had about 30 minutes to look around. I tried a couple pairs of the Sketchers slip on walking shoes. No matter how hard I try, I just can't like 'em. The 10 1/2 (actual size) feel like my feet are swimming in them and the 10 feel like my feet are being strangled. After a bit I realized i really don't need another pair after all. I have a pair of Altra hiking shoes and they would suffice for walking. So I guess I didn't actually need what i thought I did...imagine that. read more

They went on 3 different aisles leaving a trail of discarded shoes on the floor. Im talking maybe 5 pairs where multiple people almost tripped. Did they tidy up? A big NO! They just left the piles of shoes there on the floor, the guy in the shirt tried kicking a couple of shoes under the racks but really??? Worst service I have ever received! I was preparing to go in a trip and bought a small Guess duffel bag at Ross it even still had the tags on it. I decided to go next door and look for some boots. As soon as I walked in the store I started being followed by one of the cashiers that was up front. Soon I had all three sales clerks in the same aisle with me straightening up the shoes they made me so uncomfortable. Normally when your in Famous Footwear they always say if you see something you like and we don't have your size I can order it online and have delivered to your home but no I asked about some Doc Martens and the girl said no we're starting out spring stuff. Then the other girl turns to me and said " just so you know we close in 20 mins" I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life. Horrible customer service and just for reference I'm a middle class older woman, most people think I look like a school teacher not a shoplifter I understand theft is an issue but that type of behavior will lose business. I have been a lifelong customer of Famous Footwear, but after my experience there the other day I will be taking my business elsewhere. I had bought several pairs of shoes there for my daughter a few weeks back and two pairs did not fit. They were unworn and in the exact same condition I had purchased them in. I had my receipt. The manager on duty, William, was at the front register. He looks at the shoes and says unfortunately I can't take this pair back because you don't have the box. The price tag was attached to the shoe and I kindly explain to him that one, they were sold to me without the box and two, the bottom of my receipt clearly says: Famously easy returns and exchanges. No box? No receipt? No problem! This is where the experience goes really sour. William gets a nasty tone to his voice and says well we changed our policy due to covid and it would be highly unusual that anyone here would sell you shoes without a box. Did he just call me a liar? Did he also say that basically they lie about their return policy on their receipt? Does he just make this up as he goes? At this point I am livid. I firmly told him that he was going to return my shoes, that it isn't my fault that the policy on the receipt nor their employees are ill informed and - he does the return but has the audacity to tell me it's MY JOB as a customer to ask for a box. As an assistant manager at a neighboring business, every single thing out of William's mouth was the exact opposite of what any manager should say to a customer and absolutely embarrassing for your company. Make sure you never have to do a return here! They don't verify where your funds are going (going back into card ending in XXXX?) and just process it, so my return was processed onto a card that I don't even have. They basically said, not my problem. Well it IS your problem famous footwear, because you did the return without verifying my method of purchase and it was your system that glitched. Gave me a 1-800 number to call and shoved me out the door. So I left without the shoes AND without my money back because "the return has already been done". read more

I came in to find a couple pairs of shoes, customer service was not the best, selection was terrible! I get it they probably can't get the product because of shipping issues due to COVID-19. When I finally do find something it has something on it, the sweet clerk offers to clean it however the filth won't come out. She's bright and offers a discount 10% off but has to get the manager approval. I totally understand that and respect her for doing this and agree to this offer! The manager said no way we will mark these shoes "out of stock" and order you a new pair and have them shipped to your home. I thought this was crazy but agreed as long as I could get them quickly! He took my money handed me my receipt and circled the tracking number for me to understand that it could take 7 days. I asked what happens if they don't come? He said come that tracking number! I live for deals. Whats with this low star rating? It's a shoe outlet not Nordstrom's! Sales people aren't super helpful but who needs um' everything is on the floor. I got a pair of rad pink Nikes for 35$! They even have the iPod feature to let me know how many miles/calories burned. If you want the hottest new thing, this store isn't the place. Really...a shoe store this large and not one single hiking boot for women?!! Baby shoes...not impressed. Often when I do find some I like there are only a handful of sizes....and usually never the size I need. Sandal selection is decent. Sneaker selection is good. God awful heels galore. Then I went to the men's section. What the heck? Is this chain ran by a man? They had way better selection! Lots of boots, Doc Martens, and cool sandals... Man I am feeling some discrimination here. Hey, you know what FF, we women like to hike too...and some of us really like boots and all....some of us ladies don't like heels. Shocking, I know!! But it's true. While the store is impressive in size, selection is hit or miss. Want sandals and have tiny feet, no problem, anything over 71/2 chances are you will have to order a pair. Need a wide size..unless you're a guy, good luck. Hubby and I ended up having shoes sent to the house. I went here this weekend looking for leather boots. Surprisingly enough, is was difficult enough to find a quality boot here as most of them were man made material. After looking at most of the boots I found on that fit the bill, except that it wasn't the necessary black. I kindly asked the Assistant manager if it came in black. He told me no. Grab a box of boots to try on when all of a sudden a rude! But he also had the box of shoes I took out to try on and puts it back on the shelf and I said umm excuse me but those were the ones I was going to try on. He the. Said OH and grabbed them and threw them on the table where you sit to try them on. At that point I was like should I ask out or should I still try them on!! Well I tried them on but the whole time this individual was just standing there watching like trying to rush me out. Let's just say I didn't buy anything because I felt I was being rushed and this employee shows horrible customer service after walking out I decided to call and see who the manager on duty was and go figure!!!!! HE SAID HE WAS THE MANAGER!!! Anyways to make this complaint come to a end if you want to shop and feel very uncomfortable and get treated horrible go shop here at night going to try again and see if coming in the morning is better to avoid that rude employee at night. They have shoes. They sell footwear. The store is almost always dirty. Don't buy Doc Martins here. My partner, after 20+ years of wearing his docs, had to finally replace them, we tried a shoe repair, but they beyond repair. After about two weeks the new Doc Martins began to to split along the seams. The eyelets began to wear though and just were all around uncomfortable. Of course you can't return shoes, usually, but these were not the Doc Martins of yesteryear. If the product is faulty it seems to me that you should be able to return it. Even if they were to prorate it somehow for the two weeks. But I digress, because after saying I wouldn't go back there again, I went back again anyway. This time with my son. His shoe needs coincided with my need to not drive very far. The store looked like they had some kind of a party the night before. It was not only dirty (there was garbage and dirt real actual dirt under all of the benches), there was rolling carts blocking isles, and the craziest thing was a whole mess of insoles and arch supports just laying on the ground. They weren't in front of a display, or shelf, or anything that makes any sense. There were at LEAST four workers, (maybe 5)there, not including the cashier and I'm not sure what they were doing, because they definitely were not giving customer service, or cleaning up the store. It was a pretty slow Sunday. While I was there I never saw more 6 customers at time. This time I really won't go back. I gave one star for selling shoes and the other because they sell socks. Ugly ass shoes often popular with people from the suburbs. I stopped by to get some of those heel adhesives so your shoes won't slip everytime you walk. DO NOT listen to them if they try to sell you the more pricey gel ones for women. There are a bunch of ugly-ass shoes here, but there are also quite a few finds. Like the Doc Martins I got for $20 in size 14. If you're as tall as I am, finding size 14 shoes can be a pain in the ass, but not here. Nearly every shoe had size 14 (and quite a few more went above!). So that rocked. The customer service is crammed down your throat though. Complete with an ultra-long robotic greeting that's given to you by a cashier who's helping someone else. And also a few attempts to upsell you some other crap when you check out. It's terribly forced, but I'm sure they'd have gotten written up had they not gone about our transaction any other way. read more

Shop here all the time. Bought my daughter some boots before school started in August and the heal is already coming off. I tried to exchange them, not even get my money back, for a new pair but it was slightly over the 2 months return window so they did nothing to help me. I will never be back and I will tell everyone I know about this horrible policy. I visited the Tanasbourne store late this afternoon and witnessed one of the most unprofessional interactions I have ever seen in my adult life. A man (who appeared to be in charge) was scolding a young woman who also worked there quite loudly while I was trying to shop. Not only was his tone unprofessional, but also his condescending attitude. I felt very badly for the young woman as she was trying to respond but he would not give her a chance and continued his verbal assault in front of myself and other shoppers as well. As a longtime customer of Famous Footwear, I no longer feel comfortable shopping in this store for how he handled the situation (I could not tell what the issue that upset him was). It was so uncomfortable, I put down my shoes and left immediately. I now regret that I did not step in to alert the man he was offending me, but I am hoping this feedback will be viewed by the store manager to correct his behavior. read more
