That said, in less than 90 days, a hole worn through the toe area. Full disclosure: I do walk about 36 miles a month. I went into the store and showed the damage. The two young men working there at the time were twin brothers. They actually suggested I use duct tape to cover the hole. Honestly, hearing that regarding a $145 premium pair of Brooks sneakers was pretty shocking. My wife had given me Mark, the owner's, contact information. I called him, and to his credit, while he was not too pleasant on the phone, he did seem concerned. He asked me to come back to the store on the day he was going to be there and said he'd work something out regarding a return or credit. When I arrived at the retail store to return my torn sneakers, a nice young man named Jonathan helped me. They didn't have another pair of Brooks available, which honestly I was hesitant to buy again anyway after this experience. He then brought out a pair of black New Balance shoes that were actually more expensive than the Brooks. I explained that Mark had said they would work something out regarding the torn sneakers. Jonathan walked to the back, spoke to Mark, then came back and told me they would only give me 50% credit -- and they had to keep the original shoes. I asked if I could at least keep them to use as yard shoes since they were only offering half credit, and he said no, he could not do that because they would be returning the shoes to the manufacturer. So I declined the New Balance shoes and left. Here's the part that really stands out: I called Brooks customer service directly. Patrick R., a Brooks running specialist, simply asked for the numbers on the tongue of the shoe. No photos. No argument. No hassle. Brooks immediately agreed to send me a replacement pair based purely on customer service and standing behind their brand. What truly bothers me is this: The store most likely could have returned the damaged shoes to Brooks themselves and received full credit/replacement exactly like I did, yet they only offered me 50% credit while trying to steer me into a different, more expensive shoe that wasn't even close to the style I originally purchased. Mark, here's a little advice:When you operate a local retail business in a community like Keller, Texas, and you carry premium brands that stand behind their products, your store should do the same. Shame on Bear Creek Running Company for the customer service I received. People deserve to know the difference between a company that stands behind its customers and one -- Bear Creek Running Company -- that doesn't.

Compared to other sneaker stores I've patroned the prices are what you would expect for resale. Where LC stands out is the customer service. As a female, it's important to me that I feel safe and unpressured when I'm shopping - and that I'm not manslpained to or tried to take advantage of because of it. Sneaker stores are usually run to accommodate a specific demographic, so I don't always feel welcomed as an older female. That is not the case here as I'm always greeted by a friendly face and left to peruse without pressure to purchase. Around 3-4pm yesterday, August 13, 2026, I went into the store with my mother to get a pair of…read moreboots that I wanted, to keep it short, I had found the boots I was going to purchase and while my mother was trying on some shoes, a worker (A white male) was stocking up on inventory and complimented my hair, it was in its natural state, which was an afro. I accepted the compliment and left it at that. But, for some strange reason, this worker went out of his way to turn it into a backhanded compliment and stated, "I heard it's a hassle to take care of", I didn't realize it at the time, but I told him it's not and left the conversation and went to sit with my mother while she is still trying on shoes. The conversation was poorly attended by the worker who was inappropriate and rude, and if not rude, then ignorant. These types of comments about black people's hair have an effect, especially on children and young adults. Especially in western countries, where eurocentric beauty standards are already embedded in our culture as it is. He might not know that he was being rude but it still hurts. With this review, I hope you can encourage your current and future employees to think before they speak and not to give into harmful stereotypes about anyone, especially black people.

But luckily, a great employee, Justin walked up to me and introduced himself and the other person he was working with and offered their assistance in finding anything I was looking for. They also explained the sale to me. With the sale prices it is possible to purchase a really good quality tennis shoe and a really great savings. This was a great shopping experience thanks to some really good employees who are passionate about their product and about helping people.

Nonetheless, I still found two pairs of shoes for relatively decent prices. The store was busy but not jammed packed as I expected. Thankfully the staff availed themselves to helping customers, and the store seemed adequately staffed for floor coverage. Oveall, I had a great experience shopping here. Inside was just filthy most of the employees were walking around in their phones. Restrooms need attention like they were not clean the day before closing. We've driven all through Dallas and even all the way to San Antonio to find the rare sneakers and this amazing store was within 5 miles of my home! A definite hidden gem. A good amount of "Rare" to choose from... from kids to adult. They also have regular getting around town shoes and clothing galore! During my visit today I purchased 2 pairs of trainers Hoka Bondi's and Brooks Adrenaline for my daily walks grab a few tanks for around the house while shopping.
