The staff is great but Monica is extremely knowledgeable, professional and has the skill to communicate with you with such ease able to answer all your questions and solve your issues effortlessly. I do not remember any other merchandising consultant in all my experience to have all that bundle with skills she can run any business successfully. I highly recommend the brand and the location. Been wearing the Redwing Boot for 23 years, but I purchased a new American made style a while back and was very disappointed. Expensive and didn't hold up. My go to boot is the king toe and loved them, but the last pair didn't hold up too good and the other fit tight for some reason. When I went to try a new pair the sales lady on queens Blvd wasn't rude but talked to me like I didn't know what I was doing. I'm a union worker and always stood behind redwing. Thanks to the sales lady, I will probably be trying another brand. Trying on hiking boots. I decided for a pair of what looked like real comfortable every day warm for cold weather walkers. My size ( I need extra wide) was not in stock. The great service offered to order me my extra wide size. I was in heaven. Great. I picked up my new walkers one week later. But ...... Well look st the pictures. But what is most impressive is their return policy - bring the shoes back with original receipt within 30 days and get a full refund, no questions asked! They respect the fact that it may take a while to actually wear shoes outside the store to figure whether the shoes are for you or not. Such a confident and generous policy only further speaks to the quality of Red Wing shoes. My salesperson was knowledgable and courteous. When I returned my shoes (they were just a little too small) Eugene was just as courteous and understanding, fully refunding my purchase. I wear down the heels of my shoes really quickly and salesperson knew exactly what was causing it and how to remedy it, helping me not only relieve my foot pain but how to take the pressure off the heels so they'd last longer. I have a pair of red wing classic moc boots that I use regularly for work. Unexpectedly, the sole of my right boot tore from the base. I was pretty upset about the situation since the boots were less than 2 years old. I went to the nearest store (this one) and showed the salesperson the issue and explained how it happened. The salesman and the manager took the time to listen to me express my disappointment and took care of my situation. I was so impressed with how it was handled that I picked out a pair of chukka boots to get when my repaired boots come in for pickup. Great service, great company who stand behind their product. the greatest construction boot of all time. I've warn these my entire electrical career and never once had a problem with comfort. they also have never gotten my feet wet even in the hardest of downpours. all red wings used to be made in the states, but of course due to the assholes in this world everybody must outsource some of their labor to small children and less fortunate people around the globe. so when you walk in the store make sure you choose an American made design. isn't funny that they cost the same as the shoes that are made in north china by a 14 year old. makes you think. keep jobs here and wake up America!!!! read more

Absolutely love the boots that I got. The person helping me was kind enough to order the normal and wide sizes for 2 different sizes for me to try on. Once the boots came in, they gave me a call and I came into the store to buy the pair of Irish Setter hunting boots (Havoc 840). It was the best pair of boots for my uses, hiking and being in extreme cold weather (eg Iceland and Canada). I could even wear it to the dog park. It has 800g of insulation. I could easily just stand at the dog park in the snow and my feet would be warm for at least 2 hrs. The boots are also high enough so that I could hike through mud, streams, and some rivers without getting my feet wet. Great for photography when I want to setup a tripod in the middle of the stream. I also bought from this company because the "tune up". I've used their services twice now and on my second time, they gave me a new pair of laces. Also, for some reason, the 2nd time around, whoever did it, did a much better job. I could tell that the boots were cleaned and "tuned" up. Only downside to the company is the cost. The boots were quite expensive and the biggest discount I've seen so far was 20% off during Black Friday. I would highly recommend their boots and the store. i must say, i did not believe the hype of RW boots. I work for a utility company and like myself most people wear timberland boots and thought that is as good as it gets. Well, after speaking to some old timers I found out i was totally wrong! The support that these boots offer is unbelievable. I have a pair of boots that i have not had serviced or oiled. And still work with them after 2 years of ownership! And still feel great! Timberland is a waste when it comes to a work boot. The hype of RW boots is real! And the sales people are great. Probably the quickest and best service I've ever gotten. Saw the composite toes and steel toes, got some tips from a girl working there who promptly brought both out for me to try and BAM I was in and out of there without them shoving other things in my face that I should get or whatever. Yes Red Wings are a bit pricier than other construction boots but so worth it. And I'll definitely be back here for any future needs. read more

What can I say? The people who work here were really nice, and I bought boots from them last October (2012). When I came back in December to have them re-oiled, they gladly obliged. My wife and I love this store - aesthetically beautiful, and very conveniently placed by foot, bike, car, train or bus. The staff are all knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I must say, you can poke around online and get Red Wings a bit cheaper sometimes, but if you can get in to the RW store, it is worth the time and paying the retail price - you will get fitted properly, have the chance to see the boots in person and try on various sizes. You can also stock up on supplies like laces and the proper creams and conditioners to care for your investment. I bought some Beckmans there last year, and with the crazy winter we just had in NYC (which destroyed my US Army boots!) I just picked up some 875s. Bizarre. Went in to try on a pair of boots. The salesperson told me I needed socks to try them on. I was not wearing any so asked if they had a pair I could use to try on. He said no, but they could sell me some. Huh? So in order to try on boots, I need to either know in advance to bring my own socks or buy them there? That's just nuts. Very nice boots. My friend who worked construction recommended these boots for just about anything. I just bought them so the winter and motorcycle riding will be the test for these boots. I thought the service in the store was great. The women that work there really know their stuff about boots, well Red Wing boots anyway. I'm usually pretty cheap when it comes to shoes and just pick up what's on sale from Kohl's or an outlet store. Came to Red Wings on a recommendation from my construction engineer friend who swears by them for some safety shoes I need for work. I've had safety shoes before and they were pretty clunky and uncomfortable after a couple hours. Came here and found a great composite toe shoe that fit my foot perfectly and was even made in the USA. Wearing this shoe in the field feels great and never gave me any of the issues that made my last pair of steel toes nearly unbearable. On top of that, the sales guy didn't try to upsell me on anything, even when I asked about insoles. He just told me to try it out with the stock insole and see how I feel instead of spending $40 on a new set. Sure Red Wings are pricey but for the quality, service, and warranty, it's worth the price. read more

My boots are great, but the customer service, particularly from the manager is horrible. They shipped my boots to the wrong address, and my receipt had my correct address. The mistake was clearly on the store's end. The manager absolutely refused to work with me to get me my boots, which are both expensive and needed for work. He informed me that he had to wait for UPS to finish their investigation before I could be issued a refund or get a new pair of boots. Even though the store was at fault for shipping to the wrong address, they expected me to wait possibly weeks to resolve the issue. Meanwhile, I still was without boots for work and out $200. The manager should have replaced my boots immediately and resolved the shipping issue with ups on their own time. Horrible customer service and I will never by my boots from this store again. My advice - get your Redwings someplace else. read more

I was in need for some new Red Wings and wanted to go to an official dealer. With the Sunnyside store the only branch in NYC, I took the ride over and was thoroughly impressed. The salesman was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about RW boots. The boot I wanted didnt fit my foot properly and he wasn't overly pushy. Waste of time. Imbeciles for sales staff. Wanted to purchase leather workbooks with metatarsal protection. 1) Redwing does not sell the shoes online So I was forced to go to a store 2) went to store on Saturday and was told my shoe size conveniently matched the sizes they had in stock. Said I was a 10 but the ten was, as expected, too large because I wear a 9 3) was told the shoe I wanted had to be obtained from another store and it would be available by Wednesday (Daft sales person could not spell the name Dwight correctly as it is obviously far too exotic. wrote Dewright in their order book even though I spelled it for her) 4) Called on Tuesday and was told my request was cancelled and I was asked if I cancelled the order and if I was still interested in the shoe. (as if my calling to ask if the shoes were arriving was not indicative of my interest) told to call back wednesday 5) Called Wednesday and was told they need to check and they would call me back 6) Called Thursday because they did not call me back and they said they would call me next week. 7) Called Redwing corporate office on Friday. 8) the shoes are out of stock and won't be available for at least 2 to 3 weeks 9) asked about the $350 made in USA version. Was told it is a custom order and will take 4 to 6 weeks. 10) went to amazon.com and bought a competing brand that will arrive in 3 business days. 11) Why couldn't the salesperson just say they didn't have what I wanted? read more

Even though they are a bit pricier than other boots, they are completely worth it. The sales guy did not try to upsell the composite toe which was a bit more than the steel toe, and really helped me out with the best fit. It is a bit harder for women to find a steel toe work boot, and this is definitely the place to go. The boot I ended up getting wasn't too wide for me foot, which often happens, and the warranty cannot be beat. I definitely recommend these to anyone in need of a good work or construction boot. read more
