The company downloads thousands on thousands of phone numbers from an online database and sends unsolicited calls to anybody they can early as 8 AM (even calling businesses and renters on holidays) in order to rope in clients by offering a special free estimate (which is standard practice). If you do choose to accept the free estimate, they will try to overcharge and upsell you on any sort of home remodeling projects you're considering due to the small size of the company. From a worker's point of view, the company will hide information on the jobs you confirm and will threaten your job security once a week if you do not get 2 potential jobs per day. This unfortunately leads to the harassment of many Houston citizens through desperate callbacks for months on end and even giving misleading information about the company's status with the Better Business Bureau. There are cockroaches and bugs living throughout their showroom and the owner, contractors, and most of upper management do not speak English as well. All in all, this company is very unorganized yet uncomfortably persistent when it comes to finding clients and will often overcharge clients who are in desperate need remodeling and do not have time or resources to find a second opinion. If you do come in contact with them or happen to receive an unsolicited call, I strongly suggest finding another contractor to save you from a headache/wasting your time. I would even make sure to block the number because they will not stop calling if you don't.

The craftsmanship of his wood floor installer was awesome. Besides painting the house, his painter fixed a wall so well that the results were as though there had never been a problem there! Outstanding work!!! Our kitchen, Sam went out of his way to accommodate our requirements... and again it turned out gorgeous. Recently we went back to Sam's shop to buy carpet for our rooms upstairs. We got an excellent quality carpet, cheaper then many other shops in town. Believe me, I did shop around. And guess what? The installers were "AWESOME"... yes capital letters!!!!! They arrived around 10am and worked almost until 8pm.... Could not ask for more. They were very careful covering they pathways, clean, organized and super professionals. Totally recommend Sam! So I asked him to send me an invoice of all of the work that I had done he told me to "take a hike" I have the text to prove it. A business owner should always treat their customers with respect especially when a problem arises and there is absolutely no professionalism here. Do not ever get work done from this place. If you still decide to work with his business please be wary and get everything on paper. Because he will talk in circles and try to fool you. The tile is Ambiance 12x24 and appears to be a defective tile. It does not have the durability of porcelain tile. It is fragile and could break if someone dropped a mug or glass while standing up. I emailed Lone Star Flooring on 12Jul20 to replace the broken tile (1). Lone Star Flooring requires $125.00 for the labor alone.

In fact, both bathrooms and the kitchen were stripped down to the studs. We even had him repair some extensive plumbing issues that required digging up concrete in both bathrooms. They also added a skylight, canned lights throughout the house, resurfaced our fireplace, replaced all the flooring with hardwood and tile, added a linen closet, crown molding, replaced doors, blew in insulation, repaired texture on walls, and other items too lengthy to list here. Because of the scope of the project and the fact that we had to move our family and animals out during the remodel, we were pretty nervous about hiring an unknown contractor just based on reviews. We interviewed several other contractors and even though they also had good reviews, we didn't feel completely at ease with them. Ultimately, after meeting with Al a second time, we really felt that he exhibited professionalism, honesty, and a sincere desire to listen to us, so we decided to turn the full project over to him. We are certainly glad we followed this impression. The house is beautiful, and we were continually impressed with Al's workmanship and willingness to point out to us items he had caught that needed attention. Overall, we stuck fairly closely to the allowances in our bid, but we did end up adding a few additional items, which raised the cost somewhat. There were times when digging up the concrete or removing a wall would reveal more problems to be fixed. We felt that we were charged fairly for these additional costs, and Al was very good at anticipating extra cost that might appear and warning us beforehand if possible. Remodeling is by nature a stressful process, but our contractor, thankfully, was a solution to our stress and not the cause. Even though we tried to visit the house daily, it was good to be able to trust that the work would be done well, and that if any problems were noticed, that Al would make sure they were taken care of quickly. My husband works in the construction industry and has considerable experience with many aspects of construction, and he came to trust and respect Al and his workers. We both highly recommend Century Builders and we will continue to do so when friends or family need a contractor.

Al, introduced himself, surveyed our damages, sat down at our breakfast table and began detailing what services he could provide us, and we must make a note that, then and only then did he ask us who our insurance agency was, and quickly helped us place the call to our agency, briefing us on what each terminology meant and how we could submit the claim. We felt NO pressure to secure his services but felt that Al, could and turned out to be trustworthy and he did not disappoint. The staff were always respectful and displayed professionalism in handling our home and showed genuine concern for ALL our needs. I had a small leak in a hot water pipe in my loft recently which eventually brought down much of…read morethe ceiling in an unused bedroom . Water had also soaked into the mattress , laminated floor and some wall hanging and there was insulation all over the floor. One call to ER had them at the house within an hour ( I had already isolated the leak and it was being fixed by Acosta plumbing who also responded quickly). ER arranged for the removal of damaged items as necessary and installed dehumidifiers and heaters - which ran for 5 days. Alvin Henry came to discuss the process and put my mind at ease. It's obvious that he and the company are experts in the matter and of course this was my first experience. ( A good point to remember - check the electricity meter reading before the equipment is installed and when it is removed - you can claim the cost from your insurers) . Al was present when the insurance adjuster visited and to be honest led him through the process too! A god send. Whilst the insurance claim was being processed Al went out of his way to identify a source of laminate flooring of the same type as we have throughout the house - having to try several sources around Houston. Once the insurers confirmed our claim ER's team moved in and George, CJ and Nico worked steadily and efficiently to finish the job ahead of schedule. What I really appreciated was that I was kept updated of all the steps required and what was happening next. The company promised to leave the room looking even better than before- and they achieved that in some style.
