I walked in and was greeted by a a store clerk. He asked if I needed help and I said yes, I need some tubing cut. He said okay I will. Send someone right back. I waited a few minutes and then went back to the front thinking they had forgotten. They did. No big deal. Same guy is now at the register and he says he will be right back (after the transaction). I waited 5 minutes as I am walking to the front, the man who was supposed to be helping me was helping another customer, who I saw walk in the last time I went up front. I was irritated that he would leave me waiting to help a person who came in the store after me. So, I told the 2 ladies at the front (admittedly with frustration in my voice) that this was my 3rd request for help in the back. They couldn't leave. I decided to just get in line and pay for my other items. The guy who was being helped got in line behind me. I figured it wouldn't make sense to make a second trip. So I went back and within a minute the person came back and asked what I needed. He turns around and slowly goes back to get something to cut the tubing. Why didn't he come up with the tubing? He knew what wanted. A few minutes had passed since he stopped helping the other person. He cut a 6 inch tubing. I have bought my tubing 3 other times before from your store. Each time, they said I had to buy a foot. So, I paid for a foot and only got 1/2. The cashier with short hair, was very apologetic. And I appreciate that. She also gave me a discount for my troubles, which makes up for the over charge on the tubing. I meant to get his name off his name tag but didn't. read more

It was my first time back at Ace Hardware since their soft opening, and I'm still very impressed. I was immediately greeted when I walked in, and when I asked where the batteries were, the associate didn't just point me in the right direction, they actually walked me there, which is always a huge plus. I really appreciate that kind of hands-on customer service. Another great surprise was learning about their rewards program. The cashier did an excellent job explaining it, and it's definitely a pro tip: when you download the app, you get a $10 reward, plus a $5 reward during your birthday month, and it doesn't even require a purchase to use it. That's pretty awesome. Overall, another well-deserved 5-star experience. So happy to have Ace Hardware here in Redlands! read more

First time to the Redlands store... so happy we have an Ace Hardware... looks they have a nice variety of things.. not sure they will have plants... it's a little smaller than their normal stores... but it looks like they carry most everything else.... staff is super friendly and helpful..... Ace Hardware recently opened in this location, and it's an incredible asset. This is a neighborhood hardware store - its not a big, box store. For a small footprint, they'll probably carry the 20% of hardware inventory that makes 80% of most hardware sales. In looking around, I saw a tremendous variety of pieces and parts. However, since I didn't see a lot of "contractor pack" quantities, I'm not sure they have the inventory for a whole project. But for those 1 or 2 missing items, this is a far quicker place to get it, and get back to work. I checked the price on one very common item, and it was about 15% higher here. This matches my expectation for convenience and quickness, and for a few parts well worth it. It also appears they carry far better-quality tools - which also means a higher price. You'll need to determine if the price point works for your needs. read more

I was really surprised when I walked into Ace Hardware, the one in Redlands today, where the old Rite Aid used to be, next to Don's Bike Shop. I expected a typical mid-level hardware store, but I was really impressed by what they had to offer. They carry a wide variety of tools, sprinkler parts, faucets, bbq's etc., and pies (yeah, pies lol). I tried the Dutch apple and a strawberry pie, and both were excellent. I don't usually write reviews, but this was worthy of the time. I highly recommend Ace Hardware--definitely a five-star experience! We're fortunate to have such a gem in Redlands. read more

I went into the store today. For a small 2 dollar item. One of the ladies showed me where the plumbing area was as we entered the plumbing area one of the other workers walked up to us to help his employee identify where the material was . I had to use the restroom so I asked that same man where the restroom. I did not catch the name of this man, but he is a taller, bald white man. He then led me to the restroom as I was going to enter the restroom. He puts his hand out so that I can give him the small item that I was purchasing to him. I found it very disrespectful. And felt stereotype maybe of my appearance. He could have easily let me know what row it was down, and I would have set the small item down. After I was finished using the restroom, I asked the lady upfront if he was the manager and she said yes that he was the manager. I am a plumbing business owner and do not plan to come back to the store unless I have no other choice than to shop there. read more

They had a product I couldn't find in Palm Springs (pink chrome spray paint!), so they held it for me and I picked it up the next day. What a cool store! There are so many unique and interesting things there that you can't find anywhere I have seen before and both of the sales people I spoke to were super friendly and conversational. Yep, this is a great hardware store. Has most things that you'd need for typical household repairs, some yard and gardening tools, plumbing, kitchen cleaning, and some other surprising stuff in stock. And if they don't have something you need, they might be able to order it. Saves a lot of time traveling to the far end of town to the major box stores. read more

Everything I need AND the parking is easy. When they opened I thought 'there's no way they can have much in stock.' Well, they do. I've been going there the last two months and have always found what I need. I don't know how they do it. The shopping and especially the parking are so much easier than Lowe's or Home Depot. I had a random amazon order and the screws that were sent werent long enough somehow. I couldnt find these particular screws at HD or L so i went to Ace. I called first and it was a person on the other line, not AI, which was awesome. The guy in the screws department listened to my problem and helped me when i came into the store. He was very proactive with solving my solution. We ended up finding the screw in the metric system and i left very happy. read more

I went in because I saw the Ace sign on the building. It's a very impressive Ace Hardware store and laid out great. Everybody was nice and helpful. I'd advise everybody in the Redlands area to go there and give 'em business for your hardware needs! Ace Hardware is the new store in the old Rite Aid space. From a commercial real estate point of view, it's not a great storefront. But it's convenient, in the Albertson's (old Sage's!) property. And once you're inside, the store looks nice! read more

Was so excited to see Ace opening (a small, Svc oriented hardware store close to my house). Needed a quart of paint - drove over there - 1 customer in the store - 4 people mopping shiny clean floors - two people to help me in the paint area but couldn't get the computer to connect with the paint dispenser - had to call the GM over to figure it out - he didn't look at me, apologize...nothing. After patiently waiting for 30 mins as they tried to fix it - finally being told by the plumbing guy (who was helping out because he had nothing to do) they couldn't make the paint, I asked what they would do to make it worth coming back once they got it fixed - doing my best to stay positive (vs going to Lowe's or Home Depot - which I dreaded). The GM was standing there looking at the computer - never even look at me (or said anything). The plumbing guy jokingly offered me a free paint stick. I asked if they were really going to let me walk out unsatisfied (trying everything to prompt them into a customer service mode, but they didn't pick up on the suggestion). I was really irritated at that point and walked out. I really don't get it?!! read more
